Very nice place, from the offer we could not convince ourselves, as closed because of the holiday.

We had a breakfast today and then a castle tour I'm still totally enchanted by the castle. Each room is decorated differently, one more beautiful than the other. All the rooms and also the other rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast buffet which left no wishes open.
The chapel, the wedding Room and the gentleman — as well as the ladies ' rooms are a dream you will feel right at home in this great ambiance.

Nightmare wedding, my sister celebrated her wedding at the castle Gartrop and we were there as guests. The whole day was a single disappointment. The rooms were completely filthy, the food was bad and came looots too late, so everyone almost starved, even though the number of people was quite small. The self-proclaimed mistress of Mrs. Schäfer has been very unprofessional and inadequate to me and to the other n guests. The waiters are not professionally trained, but are rented only for the evening, which is why the service was an absolute no-go.

Outside hui, inside Pfui!

We were a guest at a wedding at Gartrop Castle. The location is really very nice. The newlyweds put the greatest effort into the many details and actually gave us as a guest a wonderful day. However, the management (primarily! ) as well as the service offered is an absolute disaster! The service – temporary workers, who were completely overwhelmed in their own statements – did not follow, guests had to cut the wedding cake and distribute it to the rest of the guests. Specialty coffees took up to 45 minutes to stay after ordering. The underground service dragged on throughout the day. The entry into the dinner room for the wedding dinner was delayed because the table plan submitted to the management was not adhered to. Around 1919:45, the newlyweds gave a short speech and opened the dinner. The agreed starter came 2 hours later! Two service personnel and a banquet manager were responsible for almost 60 people! The wedding dance planned for 21:30 p. M. Took place at 23:30 p. M. As the food (starter and main course! ) lasted until 23:3 p. M. Since we know the newlyweds very well and they are absolute organizational talents, you can imagine what a terrible state this was, especially since Castle Gartrop calls peppered prices! The children's menu (burgers + fries) came in front of the main course of adults and the fries came 45 minutes after the burger! This misery dragged on throughout the day.

I was in touch with the castle hotel and had made a viewing appointment until I saw the bad reviews on the internet: (I approached the castle hotel on the bad reviews on the internet and asked if countermeasures were taken Be. From that point on, I'm totally ignored. I've never experienced anything so unprofessional from a "wedding location. " Too bad for the location. In this management, just leave your fingers off it.

A beautiful castle experience is destroyed by mismanagement. What a pity! The location is top, but the service, friendliness and management do their best to torpedo weddings and other celebrations.

New year's Eve 2015/16: At first, I was skeptical, to celebrate the new year on an old water Castle!
Yes, actually my expectations were far exceeded. And here in detail: easy access by car via the A3, and the departure of Hünxe 5 km in the country.
Friendly reception in the main building, modern room with shower in the adjoining building. Top delicious 9 course menu of French cuisine. Nice talks with leaders from the region.
Overall, the castle with stylish furnishings and fireplaces times offers the opportunity to look into the past, how people lived at the time.
Breakfast is in the well heated vaulted cellar. A very rich buffet, which hardly a wish leaves, including views of the moat and several kilometers in the country. Pure nature.
I got to know personally the Castle Lord, and can wish only "all" the new operators of the Castle and hotel at the turn of the year. Way to go! The visit was well worth it!
