Great location in the heart of the city adjacent to the old town and near to all the shops and river side. Rooms are nicely appointed and staff superb. A comprehensive breakfast is 6am to 11am weekdays and car parking is available in underground parking with valet service. Great base to explore the city.

This hotel does a great job of melding old world art and class with new school amenities. The front staff is very accommodating and speak a variety of languages for tourists from all over. The morning breakfast is also incredible.

From start to finish our stay was absolutely flawless. Check-in was swift, our car was parked free of charge, the rooms were large, luxurious and spotless, the hotel itself is a pleasure to walk around in with beautiful ancient artefacts and a lot of history, and the location itself is prime as well. All at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed in Dusseldorf for a weekend and spent two nights at the Derag Livinghotel De Medici.
The house is located in the middle of the old town. However, it is not just a hotel, but a beautifully restored building, whose roots date back to the 17th century. The house itself, as well as the large private collection of art objects, gives the impression to be created in a museum. In every corner you will find new things.
The rooms, which are tastefully furnished and very quiet, become almost a minor matter.
In short — we had a very nice stay at Derag Livinghotel De Medici.

Everything was perfect. And the historical item presented on all over the hotel was really wonderful. It was like the best museum that I saw ever.

The proximity to the Old City doesn't just have advantages because it can be a bit noisy at night on weekends, as in my case. But even so, I found the relaxed atmosphere created by the unobtrusive friendly staff and generously designed entrance area very pleasant.

Unfortunately, I found that this hotel looks excellent at first glance, but on closer inspection you will find hair in the drawers, lime without end in the shower and most disgusting are real hairlocks in the flow of the shower filter. Hygiene seems not to be so important here!
The biggest cheekiness, though, was that when I paid, I was charged 2 beers that I hadn't drunk. Rip-off! Never again!

From the minute we entered the hotel on sun afternoon it was a truly fantastic experience from the two gentlemen on reception extremely friendly and helpful to the porter the room was outstanding the service was second to none will most definitely be returning.

Nice rooms, great ambiance. Breakfast is not good. It's good but has air up. A freshly prepared scrambled egg/Omlette should be standard.

A great hotel with a very own Einrichtingsstil. Many art objects in almost all premises. Rooms were always tiptop on our two visits. Staff very friendly to us competent. Location on the edge of the old town ideal for excursions and still not noisy. Can be recommended without hesitation.

Well it was a good stay overall, as many have said the place is beautiful, surroundings are great, location is great, fireplace is so cool. One of the best part for me was the wonderful breakfast, it has so much variety and everything is excellent, from fresh juices to eggs/milk/butter, fruit really good and fresh. About noise as someone reported in another review here that they were not able to sleep, for me it was total opposite, most of the time of day it was like pin drop silence, I could not hear anything, maybe except for a few church bells very few times of the day from outside. there is one thing I want to mention maybe which can be improved, and its the bathroom exhaust, there doesn't seem to be an exhaust for bathroom which is weird, I sometimes had to open the room window to get fresh air in, hope this can be improved. I stayed from 26 jan to 1st March 2018.

An absolutely stunning hotel in a prime location in Düsseldorf. While I was right in the heart of the Atstadt, I was surprised how peaceful and relaxing the hotel was. Every one of our staff was very helpful and very accommodating. The décor and facilities in the hotel were all of a very high standard and the beds were very comfortable. I will always stay with every visit to Düsseldorf!

Luxury. You have to like the style, my case is not necessarily. Windows are unfortunately not very well darkened in some rooms. Beds are insanely comfortable. More fruit at breakfast would promise me.

Nice hotel. Very good location. The whole old town is within walking distance. But the hotel is located inside the courtyard and it is very quiet. The rooms are spacious. Stylish interior design. Great breakfast. Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice is offered for breakfast. I would also like to mention a special smoking lounge with a bar. Very friendly and professional staff. Definitely recommend for a visit.

This is one of best world class hotels in which I stayed. The hospitality, the ambience was just mind blowing and all this is because of Mr. Frederick Mende, Aiko Yoshimura (Sorry if I spell your names wrongly). These two were really a big support for our 2 month stay in Germany and I am highly thankful to both of u. You two are the gems of this fabulous Hotel. Cheers.

This is the second time we've stayed here and we will definitely be back again soon. Great customer service, fantastic breakfast, very friendly and amenable staff, for whom nothing was a problem, (they even tried to help me find an adapter for my laptop because I had forgotten to bring one). We have stayed in different category rooms each time; the initial 'Attic' room was a bit 'cosy' in size, with a lot of wood panelling but very clean and comfortable with a luxurious bathroom and a pretty view of the courtyard. The second room was substantially bigger and very comfortable but the view was not as good. (You can't always have everything).

Our Stay was great.
The Reception and the Page were very friendly The Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Bed linen was provided for us as Allergy sufferers.
The Spa Area is great and very nicely done The Room Service was there quickly and the Food was ok.
The Hotel is in a very good Location near the Rhine and only a few Minutes from the Kö.

Very nice Hotel, very attentive staff, very good location, only small downside: a poorly arranged breakfast although very qualitative I will come back with pleasure.

Been to many hotel in Dusseldorf but this is the best hotel I have been to and stayed at. Great Staff, Great location, Great facilities, Great Breakfast. This is now my favourite hotel in Dusseldorf. You have to try it to feel.

Beautiful Hotel, friendly Service, clean Rooms. Despite the Location in Düsseldorf's Old Town, there are very quiet Rooms to the Courtyard.

This was a truly stunning hotel in the best location close to all the bars and restaurants. The rooms included complimentary waters and a couple beers as well which was nice. The reasons I took off a star was because the shower flooded the bathroom, the AC didn’t work and house keeping didn’t clean our room (we left our room around noon). Every other hotel I’ve been to always has house keeping come back and clean after we’ve left the room. It was pretty surprising for such a nice hotel and when I let the lady at the front desk know about the flooding bathroom when we checked out (just so they knew to fix it for the next occupants) she acted offended and was not very nice. That was pretty disappointing as we didn’t even complain about anything while we were staying because we didn’t want to damper the mood of the trip and we told her in the nicest way possible. Would recommend this place if it was cheaper but with all the things wrong with it… it’s hard to say it’s worth it. Great location though!

It has everything that must have a 5 star hotel. It is peculiar as it is very recharged, with paintings and sculptures for every nook and cranny. The room in my case very comfortable, had heating on the floor and hydromassage cabin.

An important drawback is the noise of the street at night, as there are rooms that overlook the pub area where the hubbub can give you the night, that is why not give more stars, should soundproof.

The hotel looks lovely — art everywhere. Most of it is fine, great fireplace too. But, the rooms are really noisy — we hardly slept, because the people in the next room kept walking and talking. Which is their good right. For over €200 per night, I would expect a room to be more soundproof. So, only one star, because the hotel did not meet the most basic requirement: a good nights sleep.

The hotel staff was exceptional. From our arrival, the staff helped us through every aspect of the hotel, suggested places to see and to eat. Our experience at the hotel was beyond expectation. The location was a great place to step off to the old town. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. A definite place we will be visiting again!

I had business meetings in central Dusseldorf and stayed at the hotel for two nights. The service was excellent. The room was very good. The lobby reeked of old smoke and looked a little run-down. The location is central, but the surroundings are a little grungy. Overall I will come again.

Nice hotel. No pool or spa but very energy efficient! The history was interesting and lovely expensive art lines the entire hotel. It was used as the headquarters for the Nazi SS during WWII, which not a lot of people know. A timeline of the history is listed on an archway upon the entrance and it just leaves that chunk of time out conveniently. Regardless, great hotel and great location!

When we got there to check in, the front desk lady just stood there waiting for US to say something other than checking in. We had to ask if passport is needed. Also, the lady never made sure if we needed one or two key cards. (So just got one). Whenever we were walking by, rarely anyone said hello to us. On our last checking out experience, the front desk lady said "okay. You are set". Then that was it. No "thank you"s, no "do you need taxi? ", or whatsoever. The hotel was pretty decent even though we had one night without any air conditioning. The employees should be more friendly and nice to the customers.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and I was impressed from the moment our taxi pulled into the courtyard. I've stayed all over the world and this place is visually one of the classiest I've ever seen. The service was very friendly and efficient. The location is perfect for seeing Old Dusseldorf and some Dusseldorf's most popular attractions. Our room was ultra modern and very nice. OK, having said all that, we were traveling to multiple cities and had several large bags and the room was quite small. We reserved the least expensive, so I can't hold that against this lovely hotel. There is one other thing that may be an issue from some, the bathroom has a glass door. It is quite nice, however, it offers next to no privacy and when one uses bathroom at night, light passes through it and can be an issue for one's significant other. We loved our stay and plan to return some time in the not too distant future.

Well my husband and I arrived home yesterday. We stayed 3 nights. I booked this hotel through Expedia and after reading trip advisor reviews about its central location. Was pleasantly surprised by how opulent it was. The individual duvets were a fabulous idea … no fighting and how plump and fluffy canada star duvets. Where can I buy them derag livinghotel de medici? Fabulous cocktails no pina coloda or sex on beach here. 7 Christmas markets all within easy walking distance from hotel and a luggage minding service. Huge fireplace in lobby and wonderful underfloor heating in bathrooms. Only downside is work starts at 630am on building opposite which is disturbing to sleep but not hotels fault lovely stay go enjoy.

The hotel was outstanding. The entire grounds are exceptionally clean. The rooms have high end fixtures and are very elegant. The artwork collection throughout the building is worthy of any top gallery. The restaurant and bar staff was very friendly and the food is delicious. My wife went to the spa and she said it was lovely. The location is perfect. Steps away from a lively city center.

After my early arrival was no Problem to get my room much earlier than it was planned. For this Service I would like to thank you, again, in hindsight, very. Overall, the stay in the Hotel was very pleasant. Very positive I noticed is that this Hotel has a traditional konserativ held style but with very modern technology. The staff was always very polite and courteous. The location in the old town of düsseldorf is very well located. A further visit nothing stands in the way. Thank you for the very pleasant stay.

Despite that you will pay a much lower price than normal about secret of escapes, shown one not by the staff or other. Very helpful and friendly staff with competence. Bombastic location. At window on at night you can hear the hustle and bustle of the city, which personally I don't mind… but you close the window you now infinite peace. Very good breakfast and good food, rooms with every comfort.
I like to come back when you can save something again at the normal price… I would always recommend the Medici all people I know.

Room quiet, equipped and well decorated, beautiful view of the Church, really enjoyed this room and the location of the hotel.
However we failed to have a drink at the bar, at the time of the aperitif, this one is far too small for the size of the hotel.
Breakfast seemed to us any for a "continental breakfast"and because of this, very expensive!

Planned cultural weekend in Düsseldorf, landed in the DE MEDICI. Very well! Worried, get many tips about the current programme of the City Opera tickets. Excellent slept and eaten — is so easy to elicit no praise my husband, because he travels professionally, — if he says I'm definitely coming back and will tell you, this is an accolade! Also… bis soon!

A true art Hotel really unique! I can only recommend, since the stay is for the experience. The staff is great, the location is 1A, and the decor is great!

More than exceeded expectations — great stay!
Spontaneously, we have booked a weekend in Düsseldorf. Due to its central location, our decision on the de Medici fell hotel. The hotel is very quiet despite the location in the city centre. Already the access road is a highlight with the beautiful courtyard, also immediately parked our car for us. We had to worry about anything, because the staff have supplied our luggage and accompanied us to our room. We could learn something of the history of the House and the art. Hotel is truly more a museum than a hotel, it's worth really walking the floors, and to explore the art!
Our room was facing the courtyard and was very spacious. The Spa is completely decorated in the Egyptian style, and offers everything you need to relax. The breakfast buffet is not large, but it is surprising with versatility. Even a Japanese corner is available! Remains finally to highlight only the friendliness of the staff to us! We have probably felt very and very happy to come back. Thank you very much!

Our arrival was very nice with a very friendly front-office employee. The room was not big but really very nice and with a beautiful bathroom. It was warm in the room so I tried to put on the airconditioning, but it didn't work. Later in the evening I asked about the airconditioning at the reception and I was told it doesn't work in April. I had to open the window to get a better temperature to go to sleep. The matresses were a bit hard and we didn't sleep too well, but we did like the hotel and the atmosphere. The staff is really very friendly and helpfull.

Never again this Hotel! We had a room directly above a nightclub, loud music and even the announcements of the DJs could be heard wonderfully. To do when I was at the front Desk to my Annoyance Known to me have then explained it was normal for a Hotel in city centre location. Sure, I'm willing to endure the I have some noise from the street or a couple of drunks running gröhlend through the streets, but a continuous sound with a loud music, if you want to sleep more than counterproductive. The rooms are not in this area of the hotel is likely to actually be rented out. And you can't tell me that we are the first to have criticized. Here is willingly accepted, not accepted, the guests are satisfied, because the essential most important when I the I is a to the Hotel to sleep! The point as I really fallen away, but I was as to me to solve the problem, earplugs were offered! Impudence! The least what I would have expected after the night would have been the one comes up to me and give me a solution to offer, but even that is apparently too arrogant. Here is well-placed little value on the satisfaction of the guests but more on the money. A pity, on the whole, a really wonderful Hotel, just one should not sleep better.

We stayed here for a long weekend in February. The hotel is stunning with amazing original features! We had a superior room which was so luxurious and comfortable with great views over the courtyard and complementary Molton Brown bath gels. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful in assisting with all our needs such as booking us a taxi to the airport and recommending restaurants. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, great location and fantastic experience. We'd definitely stay here again if we were to return to Dusseldorf.

From Welcome during stay and check out I have faced an always friendly reception, warm welcoming team in the breakfast room, restaurant and Bar. It is a perfect spot to unwind and relax after a long day at work. The location is great, however, a room towards Altstadt a bit noisy during the hours of night due to a high number of bars and pubs.

I must congratulate all reception staff for the friendly welcome and Feel At Home Atmosphere. Keep it up guys. Yet I must draw the attention that the Bed's comfort leaves much to be desired: The cushions are too soft and massive! Too difficult to place your head on and sleep. Even if I was given another cushion upon request, I had difficulties. I than used the Sofa Cushions and solved the problem. The cleaning staff must nbe careful before throwing things away. On the desk I had a Half bottle of Water which was thrown out upon my return from the Boot Dusseldorf. It is not the cost of a bottle of water but the frustration of having a shower and dressing the Pajamas and than noticing that the bottle of water vanished! Outside signage for Hotel would also help. Great location, decor and staff. Downsides: the room was quite warm (even in December), but with a little effort the window did open. The door on the bathroom barely qualifies as a door. It was clear glass, had large gaps at the top and bottom, and didn't lock. With just a couple adjustments, this is easily a 5 star hotel.

First of all I love the hotel location — in the walking distance to Altstadt, Rhein embankment, Koenigsallee. Hotel interior design is higher of any praise. Ancient statues and paintings are very stylish and a-la Medici chairs in the lobby are absolutely magnificent! And I loved old wooden panels in my room — cool! Despite one side view to a walking street Andreasstrasse with many restaurants it's very quiet in the room and you have comfortable sleep. Rooms are not spacious but it doesn't bother you much. The bathroom is OK — clean and equipped with everything you need. However it's strange the shower cabin has a hole in the glass door to be used as a door handle — so the water splashes out if you're not attentive to that fact. Also in a single room there are no any shelf in the shower cabin to put a shampoo on shower gel on. It's inconvenient. Otherwise the room is good! Breakfast is reach and tasty — there's some choice of cheese and ham, hot dishes, delicious bread, fresh fruits and you always can have a glass of brut. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful — especially I'd like to thank Alexanders since we've learned a lot about hotel and the city from him first night we arrived. The parking is no problem. It's good since I prefer to travel by car. I've loved staying at Derag Livinghotel de Medici and I'm pretty sure next time I'll stay here again!

Stayed in room 308, so quiet and comfortable. Quality Hotel, Quality Staff. In the Centre of Town near all that's going on. Good food, nice bar. Everything you need to enjoy Dusseldorf.

First time in Dussledorf and my daughter's first time in Germany. We couldn't have picked a better hotel. It was amazing, very clean, absolutely loved the spa and gym. Very close to the bustling city centre. I will recommend it and I shall be staying there again whenever I am in Dussledorf.

The location was great we really enjoyed being in the heart of Dusseldorf. The staff was excellent and helpful. The place was clean and inviting. But there were a couple execution issues with our stay. The first was the temperature control in the room did not appear to function. We were hot all the nights we stayed and ended up having to open a window to cool off. Second, the bedding was below standard compared to similar price hotels I've stayed at. Sorry, it felt cheap and out of place with the rest of the amenities in the hotel. Third, the mirrors in the room hallway combined with the 3/4 glass bathroom door lead to uncomfortable viewing of the toilet at all times.

Perfect new hotel directly in the Altstad. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a luxurious and sophisticated interior. Highly recommendable.

The hotel is wonderfull from the hospitlity of the persons to quality of the hotel. Hotel is a like a museum. Lots of paintings, sculptures, iconas etc… also the location is perfect where is in the middle of the old town. I would like to stay of each accommodation on Duesseldorf.

The De Medici family as a Hotel would call him not to meet, it is a Museum where you can spend the night. A great atmosphere, a great Team and overall my favorite Hotel in Düsseldorf. I would love to be back again and again.

Beautiful Hotel and rooms with charm, great location, the staff is knowledgeable and accommodating, the Breakfast is just great, I would immediately recommend, gladly again!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in Ihrem Haus. Die Lage und das Ambiente waren hervorragend. Auch das Zimmer entsprach unseren Erwartungen. Enttäuschend dagegen war das Frühstück, vor allem seine Präsentation, obwohl die Räumlichkeiten sehr schön waren. Auch die ein oder andere eher zufällige Begegnung mit dem Personal war nicht immer so freundlich, wie man sich das erhofft.

It is an imposant and large hotel. We were hosted as VIPs. We had a few remarks also noted at the desk after our 2 night stay. The badroom had smell of open sink. And our bedsheets smelled like cigarettes, and it was a non-smoking room. The last night there was a private party in the very nice bar. But still it is a very nice hotel, we only had a little bit bad luck I think. Maarten van Dijck.
