A beautiful and romantic hotel in the heart of the historic old town of Lüneburg. Very picturesquely located on the Ilmenau, winding and pretty with small bridges and nice bay windows. The restaurant terrace with water views is particularly beautiful. The rooms are equipped as standard, clean with a pleasant living atmosphere. At night at weekends in summer relatively noisy, if you want to sleep with open windows.
Large selection at breakfast, unfortunately on the terrace no recognizable service, so that the principle self-service prevails.
Parking on demand in the underground car park, in the city center there is a lack of space. Overall really recommended for a stay in Lüneburg!

The location and the ambience are really fantastic. Unfortunately, the staff is sometimes a bit unfriendly/annoyed … The situation over breakfast was chaotic over the weekend. For so many people just to provide a coffee machine, that was a joke. One stood in line forever and then liked to give up the second cup … In a hotel of this magnitude, this hasn't happened to us yet … Also, that in one day the terrace was not open for breakfast, although in the sweltering warm interior all tables were occupied or not cleared, did not serve the rest …

Excellent Hotel. Very friendly Staff. Highly recommended Unfortunately I need to correct my good Rating from a Year ago when I awarded 5 Stars.
Since the Takeover by the Dormero Group, the Service has been a Disaster. It takes forever for someone to take care of the Service. This at Breakfast as well as Dinner. If you save on Staff, you have to expect bad Evaluation.
I lost the Mountain Stream as a Guest.

Expensive hotel in romantic environment with great service and little above average rooms/housing.

Unfortunately, leave a very bad overall impression.
Staff at the reception nice and polite, in the restaurant/bar unfortunately the complete opposite … If you are lucky enough to see the staff pay attention, unfortunately a very annoyed and indifferent attitude. You are given the feeling that you have to apologise if you want to order a drink for €11am.
Apart from a beautiful view, I can't attribute anything positive to the rooms. Dirty sheets/mattresses (and I don't mean crumbs or anything like that, but body fluids! ), carpet with large patches and the bathroom … Yes… I don't think I need to say much more about that.
All in all, those who still know the "old" mountain stream will be shocked!
A complaint on my part is sent to the hotel management. Until I get an opinion on these circumstances, I refrain from uploading photos for the time being.

Over the five-year period, I was a guest four times for a few days. Unfortunately, it should be noted that at least the service has become noticeably worse since an investor took over the house. It was probably set up by the staff in such a way that the red pencil is overloaded or good staff have probably left the hotel. What a pity!

Wir waren in der Rathaus Suite und waren hellauf begeistert. Ein großzügiges Zimmer, mit wundervollem Blick und sehr sauber, nur die Decken waren für die Außentemperaturen etwas dick.

No idea what the rooms or the service is like. Would simply be rebooked to another hotel without anyone having notified us. Also, get no explanation, they now live in the department store, that was the only sentence, also no excuse or else a gesture. Although we had already booked in November. We have never been treated like this before, certainly no 4 stars behave.

Food (buffet) was great, though choice might be greater with hot food. Ambience by location actually great, only clouded by many spider weaving on windows and ceiling. Serving friendly, albeit sometimes useful to understand Bad.

The service quality has not improved as a result of the change of operator. The processes are not yet correct, also parts of the environment are under construction. The rooms in the main house are more likely to reach three than four stars and the cleanliness could be even better.

Very friendly staff. Always helpful im whatever you need. We stayed here for two weeks & they made us feel so at home.

The location is of course perfect, very romantic. That would have deserved 5 stars, but: the room too small and much too full. You barely get to the window. The floor in the toilet getting wet again (leak in the heater). Hardly a free outlet in the room but everywhere lamps.
The breakfast buffet was very good but no glasses for the latte macchiato (cola glasses were served on request), cutlery was missing and dirty underplates at the coffee station.
In the beer garden/wine shop There were problems with beer dispensing. Took about 10 minutes, was not tapped but tipped together and at the end was almost unpalatable for 4, €50!
Overall, the prices are insanely high, but the service level is extremely low. The staff is very young and inexperienced.
Have experienced much better service in cheaper hotels. Here you probably only pay for location/name. Not again. What a pity. : (

Awesome place… Awesome view around… and most importantly it's in the city centre… train station is at 500 meters. Rooms are spacious and services are world-class.

Great location, very nice rooms, perfect for city break. Has, however, unfortunately diminished greatly since the change of ownership. Price and performance no longer consistent. At the next Lüneburg visit we will choose a different lodging.

A huge room loaded with a great view of a stream. The room was clean and well equipped. The food in the restaurant was varied and the breakfast buffet did not leave any wishes open. The service was very friendly.

We had a great evening event at our conference in the facilities of Bergström. Dinner has been outstanding.

The beautiful time seems to end… What about this beautiful hotel complex? Have you seen the drink menu in the weird? Incredibly! At first glance she likes to amuse but I find her very alienating.

Class ambience and top service.
Unfortunately, we were here only one night.
Just the view of the river and the top location makes a visit to the highlight.

I only visited the hotel for an event (not overnight) but all in all it's a very nice and comfortable location.

For a meeting with 160 participants a very nice location right in the city. There is a large and several small seminar rooms and in the auditorium possibilities for trade fair stands. Staff very friendly and previously coming. The service could be better at meals in the large room in some places, e. G. When clearing, fill dishes/cups/coffee. However, the change of seminar room for dinner was sensational in a very short time. Location generally for training courses, seminars etc. Highly recommended.

Renovated, clean rooms — technically up-to-date.
Competent and friendly staff both at the reception and in the restaurants belonging to the house.
Free park or garage spaces.
Perfect breakfast buffet.

Pleasant place in great setting and historic surroundings. The rooms are generally comfortable and well equipped, the mattresses have seen much better days though. The room maintenance was erratic with regards to replacing towels and coffee/ tee condiments and the service at breakfast deteriorated noticeably during our 4 night stay. Parking is a steep 19€ (! ) per day.

Very nice hotel complex. Rooms are very nice and well maintained. Plant in a top condition. We felt very comfortable.
3 course menu was good. Swimming pool, small and cool. Sauna area very nice.

Great hotel, very clean rooms good location in Lüneburg. Good kitchen friendly staff. Hopefully everything will remain so after the takeover of Dormeo.

This hotel does not have staff who are able to understand English but they do speak it. We had meat which was frozen and we were assured that it would be put in a freezer but next morning it had completely defrosted so had probably not even been in a fridge. The staff at reception said it was not their fault and no apology was offered. This means that our stay was extremely expensive as the meat had to be disposed of at the cost of £300. Possibly it would be good if the hotel stated that although English is spoken it is not understood.

Very nice hotel in historic city center. Excellent exterior and interior condition. Luxurious rooms, especially the suite of floor 2. To try without moderation!

A very nice hotel that can be recommended. However if you like to get wet in the shower bring your own shower head. A saving showerhead that gives very little water is std. In the rooms.

Located in historic buildings directly on the river, it enjoys a wonderful view. The rooms are not huge but comfortable, well appointed and features. Nice staff Good room and bathroom.

On the occasion of a wedding, we were a few days in the beautiful Bergström. Despite full House — friendly service — in all areas. Very nice and quiet room. Very good planning. You again.

On Saturday, the 30th may 2016, visited the outdoor terrace for lunch and dinner of the hotel Bergström.
The service only disaster; Guests were not served simply, wrong meals were served, which meant that multi-tabling the guest claimed and disappointed or upset leaving the restaurant.
Since the hotel represented Bergström is one of the top addresses in Lüneburg, the lousy service is completely unintelligible and hopefully just as an extreme aberration to understand.
So nice, the hotel is located, so pleasing to the atmosphere so intense must Hotel try quickly to improve its standard.
In this case I can forgive only one single point — for the wonderful location on the old port.

Great location in the old town of Lüneburg, clean and nice room, nice Spa area, very cosy bar and library for a drink in the evening. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was quite full, but what may have been due the Easter weekend. Only downside: relatively high price, paths between the buildings are partly to go across the street (on the way to the sauna a matter of taste), no free parking spaces for guests available.

The price adequate ambience, generally clean, staff very helpful, breakfast buffet lush and well, large rooms ("Sülfmeister Suite"), very good restaurant "Café Marina". Bitch only at a high level — the parking fees could be relaxed slightly,
After all, we are in Lüneburg, and not in Rome or Barcelona.

A very nice weekend in Lüneburg, at the hotel Bergström. The rooms, as well as the great breakfast and very nice and helpful staff, convinced us. We can only recommend this House and love to come again.

Very nice and cosy hotel. In all areas very, very friendly and helpful Personal. Zimmer, hotel and outdoor area very neat and clean.
One of the top high-light BB´s is the super breakfast on the river Ilmenau.

We wanted to make a wellness day due to bad weather.
Great sauna area. Unfortunately, the sauna came on only at 17: 00. This is better!
Total top hotel, so really what to feel.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, very attentive service at breakfast. Sleep over the Weir only with closed window possible. You should point out if necessary. Housekeeping could be more thoroughly at least in sanitary applications. Otherwise recommended.
The gallery in the old department store is still notable and worth a visit. A! for the hotel.

Beautiful large room on the river. It was warm, no air conditioning so we had to leave the window open. Large two part bathroom, was gorgeous. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Around lots of shops and restaurants plus has its own. Would stay there again anytime. Beautiful place!

The reception was really great, the room with a spectacular view (pity having to do 2 floors of stairs with suitcases! … without Help! ). Great breakfast and also great food of the dinner. Nice experience.

I had a wonderful stay, the hotel is high quality and the staff is pleasant and friendly yet very professional. I had dinner in the restaurant. I ordered a Salmon which was not nice. It would be good if the hotel could provide a wild Salmon for example.

This was my second stay at this truely wonderful hotel and I can guarentee that it will not be my last stay there. Beautifully located in the heart of Lüneburg and close to the local river and the "Alte Kran" attraction. The hotel itself is impeccanbly clean, great rooms, wonderful food and friendly staff.

This place was wonderful! The room was perfect and We had a wonderfull Christmas time with You and in the city.
