We are now in the 4th year with bike — and hiking groups in the Harz and enjoy the stay in the Njord and the good cuisine at Madhus:
Friendly staff, well-kept rooms, great food, creative cuisine and a unique view over Lake Kranichsee. It is the ideal starting point for many activities and a place for relaxed well-being.

The rooms are good, the staff is friendly and the view of the lake.

A very nice hotel that also accept dogs. Had to get a room with terrace for it. Minus points: The beds are very soft and the gap between the matrazes is quite large. The chairs on the room terraces would have to be exchanged.

The location on the lake, the large rooms, the very friendly and courteous staff is a big plus. Even the early stucco misses nothing. The coffee is brought to the table before you are back from the buffet.

A great stay. We would book here again immediately.

Small abyshas hotel, 70s charm. Great for an extended weekend in the Harz. The fireplace room and the restaurant are really very cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay. The drinks in my opinion a little too expensive.

Great hotel very clean, bathroom with shower is all without mold. I still booked a 2x4 course menu with it, but this was not our case completely wrong and the food was not hot. Otherwise ok.

Beautiful, completely renovated hotel. Everything clean, rooms are nice and stylishly furnished. Must have been recently renovated, as everything still looked new (especially in the shower not the hint of mold, i'm pinching). Bar is the fireplace room, super nicely furnished. The "library" is also great. There are hardly any books, but reading the daily newspaper on reclining chairs and letting the view wander over the lake is great. Breakfast: everything you want. And: super friendly staff. Happy again.

Super hotel, small and cozy! Accordingly, a very direct contact with the service personnel, which is very friendly and accommodating. The spa area is very nice and the breakfast is extensive.
The hotel is beautifully located and you are very fast in nature!

Very dark rooms that are not aligned to the pond in front of the hotel. Dinner at the hotel is not possible spontaneously, as this must be notified in advance. We were not informed about that. Breakfast is OK, but the room is quite small and tables/seats in front of the buffet are not recommended. All guests must be directly in between the buffet. So it is not possible to relax and enjoy breakfast. Overall, I do not recognize a 4-star hotel. 3 would be okay.

Had a small room, with little blemishes, for my electric car there was storm, food good. Whether that's 4stars, well 3plus. Small family Hotel.

Nice room and great service. The breakfast is great, the dinner was okay but overpriced. Unfortunately there is hardly any choice, as there is a fixed menu, which can be varied a bit. The place is unfortunately totally "extinct". Only an alternative restaurant is open.

I can definitely recommend the hotel! The location is top. Located right on the lake. Not far from the centre. The rooms are 4 * appropriate. Breakfast is above average. My tip: The self-stained salmon!

Great hotel, modern meets nature, beautiful view on the lake, also from the breakfast room.
Then a relaxation area with good seating and also with a view on the lake, almost as in Scandinavia.
The rooms are also contemporary and well maintained, but above all equipped with a neat box-spring bed!
Bathroom also on modern and height of time.
Also staff, from the cook to the cleaning lady, all friendly, pattern valid.
Breakfast is quite good, just a point of criticism.
The coffee is usually made of a Bodum-can, which is well…
Coffee machine with coffee specialities I just expect in a 4 star hotel.
Where, when one responds to an employee, a coffee speciality is brought on request (free of charge), this also without problems and very friendly.
Price is right, especially with breakfast.
There is also plenty of free parking.

Rooms at ground level to the street should be better covered by a green hedge.

Our third visit. Need I say more we drive 12 hours from the UK to be here.
The evening meals are superb, the breakfast has more choice than anyone could desire.
The staff are very friendly and can converse in English. The rooms chalet style, we have a room with a view over the lake, it's snowing, looks idyllic.
If you need a breakaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this little town the hotel Njord are your place to come.
We will be back again.

Great ambiance. Scandinavian design, very nice rooms. Fantastic views over the lake from the rooftop terrace. Great restaurant with great value for money. Highly recommended.

A nice and not too big hotel that is decorated in a Nordic style. Very comfortable beds and a great fireplace. A room is set up as game rooms and well equipped. The ski slopes and hiking trails are also great to achieve.
But at least the standard rooms are too small or too expensive with €105 / night,! The breakfast buffet is good (fresh rolls / bread, cereals, juices, egg/sausage/cheese, fruit, but for four stars and the price I would have expected something more. Elevators are unfortunately not available, the reception and the rooms can be reached only by stairs.
If the price is not so important to you, then rather just a room on the upper floors.

Rooms are just fine, food is good. Friendly staff. I didn't really like the wellness part. The town is real nice and there are plenty of possibilities for hiking and other sports.

Good day, the hotel is located in a very nice area and the rooms are spacious and decorated in a modern design. Unfortunately lacking on the service, cleanliness and many other aspects completely. The guests had to remove the plates of its predecessor even at breakfast because they were not cleared. Hochgeprießene breakfast only proved to be very needy and was empty as far as possible always to the half. You had to get the coffee from other tables, if you had found even a pot with hot coffee. The restaurant deserves its name only for the menu, which is available on the day of the reception. This was really tasty — but only "fast food" such as a tomato soup or a Cäsar Salad is offered on all other days. Caution for the room! It is a flat fee of no less than €15 a small cosy restaurant however asked the Manager. If a soup for € 3.50 so €18.50 will be charged — this ÜR's absolutely exaggerated a walk of less than 30 seconds to each room. When I spoke to the manager on this nurt was said this as well and I would pay €20 in a Hilton. The Njord a Hilton to comparison is but vernab any reality. Incidentally I against checked that, as a Member of Hilton HHonors and Hilton in Munich requires only 5 euro for food and for example 3 euro for cutlery as a fee for room service. We have then decided to eat, because they offered very attractive and spacious restaurant menus in the surrounding hotels and restaurants. We had a child and had to unfortunately, that was not child-friendly.

Super hotel — great rooms, wonderful food, great breakfast. The hotel has some really nice staff — and combined with a nice bar and library where you can relax after dinner — I can't think of a better value stay.

A very nice Hotel with a great kitchen. Very friendly Service and a very cosy ambience.

Very nice hotel in great nature. Finally a fresh modern house in the Harz mountains. Have a nice package bought via Travelzoo and spent 2 wonderful days here. Great and suspicious Star food along with competent super friendly staff guarantee a soon return.

Super hotel in the otherwise dreary resin! Nice staff, class cuisine and a super relaxed atmosphere. We come back in any case.
