Well-appointed hotel room, ideally located to explore Wernigerode centre and surroundings. Breakfast was really delicious and rich. Parking situation could be better. Otherwise everything is within walking distance.

Very nice welcome. And not just in German but in English so non German speakers would find it easy as well. Rooms are cozy. Bathrooms need shower curtains and may be a provision of a fan (but again this summer could be an exception), these two things can be considered for little improvement. Breakfast is good but still think a vegetarian or vegan people have less options as everywhere else.

Super Service and Mega Breakfast buffet.

Rooms were fine only the beds unfortunately do not have an adjustable headboard and a little too soft. The rich breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Great that dogs are allowed there. Ms. Altermann was always very attentive and courteous and friendly at the reception as well as in the breakfast room. We like to come back, because we felt at home there. Thank you!

The breakfast buffet is the hammer. There is virtually nothing that doesn't exist, and everything is always plentiful. No matter what breakfast preferences you have — English, continental, vegetarian, paleo, — everything is possible. The rooms are simple but lovingly furnished and clean.
Unfortunately, in many rooms, Wi-Fi doesn't work, although there are supposed to be multiple repeaters. So one is probably more inclined to order the paid internet. There's a star deduction for that.

It corresponded, purely subjective, not to the reasonable expectations of the price. The room, which was on the fourth floor, had a nice view of the castle, but overall the interior of the hotel was very dark and the furnishings were rather 80s. However, it is close to the center and with luck is also free parking. Alternatively, a parking space of approx. 100 m distance is payable. The staff, if visible, was friendly. The stay took place in May 2017, if necessary it was modernised in the meantime.

The hotel makes a good impression.
The room was well equipped, the bathroom new, only on the mirror slightly too low light. Perfect is the breakfast with a lot of choice, great. Also the time until 10.30 o'clock is very pleasant.
It is not so good that the entrance area smells of cigarette smoke.
The hotel has a good location, is easily reachable by car. Parking is also not a problem. (parking garage, if applicable). The city centre and shops are within a few minutes walking distance, including the train station.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and the food is excellent.

A family owned hotel a few minutes walk from Wernigerode Railway Station. It is regularly visited by people who want to travel on the Hartz steam trains (HSB) and want to be able to walk into town to eat in the many restaurants in the evening. Wernigerode is easy to get to from the UK either by flying to Hannover or Berlin Tegel airports and then travelling by train with one or two changes along the way. Eurostar and regional trains are options too. Breakfast is a buffet style with most tastes catered for and is very extensive. Smoking and non smoking rooms are available and Wi-Fi is available in most areas of the hotel, although the signal is not consistent on the top floor. There is limited parking in front of the hotel but there is a public multi storey car park about 50 yards up the road. The area around the hotel is usually very quiet. There are a lot of repeat visitors to this hotel.

Correct hotel, great breakfast.

A good hotel centrally located all sights within walking distance even the train station and the bus station did not need a car. The staff is friendly and tries to satisfy all wishes even the breakfast is plentiful.

A neat, clean, friendly traditional house with cosy rooms. The breakfast buffet is very rich and with lots of fruit and even vegetables, really delicious! It is regularly replenished and has everything you could wish for! ☺

It is a very nice hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good and varied. So, the day started well. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel is highly recommended.

Room was fine and the buffet breakfast offers everything what your heart desires and we would come back.

We were very satisfied. The food was very tasty!
The rooms are clean and very modern.

We were at the 12.11.10-14.11.10 for the first, and certainly not for the last time in the old Hof Wernigerode. Very tasty food, super selection, 6-star of us 4 people! The hotel is class sympathetic, just super, operation so!
