Great hotel with very clean and well equipped rooms. The beds are very comfortable and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offers a more than sufficient selection of fresh ingredients and the attached restaurant also offers a very fine selection. Unfortunately, the rooms are very bright, so that you can see everything from the surrounding rooms or the event room until deep into the night. Nevertheless, Hotel Engel is worth a recommendation.

The hotel itself is quite nice but it is very close to the airport so you can't sleep with open windows.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was small but completely sufficient, but the bed was quite large and had enough pillows. The bathroom was pleasantly large and very clean, just like the rest of the room.
In the evening I was in the restaurant directly adjacent, where you can even enjoy a small discount as a hotel guest. The service was friendly and it was very tasty.

The only thing that bothered me was the street noise, despite the closed window. But at night it was fine, only from the early hours of the morning it was unpleasant. You can also occasionally hear planes above the hotel.

The rooms are beautiful. Very classy furniture and delightfully decorated. The house cleaning services are discreet and the breakfast is great. I would recommend staying here a night or two if you're in the area. The garden in the middle is very well maintained and relaxing.

Outdated Room furniture, simply not up-to-date — cumbersome Paths to the Rooms — not optimal for the disabled. Refrigerator and TV no Electricity — if you expect a Guest you can activate everything beforehand. Note in the Bathroom Towels should be used for as many days as possible. * 4 Star hotel * since I used to stay in Hamburg with many better for the same Room Rate.

Ok stay, very slow to check out, I don’t speak German, I asked where breakfast was and was told to join the back of the que! The que was 4 deep, if I had waited I would have missed my breakfast, thankfully another paying guest informed me. Room was ok.

Friendly staff, very clean, somewhat years come.
A star deduction because of the volume of street and airport (no air conditioning and too warm, but too loud to leave in the windows open) and almost unusable Wi-Fi performance. Does not go on a business trip. Breakfast will be tested tomorrow.

It was all fine. The room including bathroom were clean, the hotel itself is easily accessible, the service is very friendly and the breakfast, there is something for every taste.

Nice hotel in quiet residential area. Staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good and in the evening the hotel bar is open until late. Rooms are somewhat rustic but sure will be renovated here soon. Pleasant stay!

Was here for a night. The standard room is spacious and very clean. The beds are good and not well versed. I think dad hotel is also suitable for families, appropriate rooms are available.
Breakfast in buffet form is absolutely sufficient, everything is replenished regularly and nothing is available or is cold.
Even the service is very nice but not intrusive. One can absolutely recommend.

Because of a water damage in my apartment, I lived here for a few weeks. The entire staff were super nice and accommodating. The décor of the rooms is functional, but the furniture has already had its best years. Other places include a small gym (free) and a sauna (€1 — fee). I would come back.

Small room, old looking. Lots of noise from other guests. Photos are misleading. Situation from the centre nothing of interest around.

Brilliant breakfast. Rooms have come a little in the years. Minor details nerves, such as that the chair is too big for the desk…

— Hotel staff, (concretely at the reception) — above the customer/ guest extremely confident on
— Hygiene / cleanliness in the hotel leaves something to be desired
(Fly shot in the hallway lamps is still the most harmless)
— hotel pictures, (on the homepage) do not match reality.

Decent hotel. Although not the latest furniture, but everything neat and clean. Good breakfast buffet.

Cozy place in the north of Hamburg, close to the airport.

Highly recommended! Stylish, cosy 4 * house. Very friendly and helpful staff. My room was flawless clean but unfortunately not yet refurbished and therefore in older style. The furniture was despite very well maintained and not worn, even the bed was very cozy. Duvets and pillows were in any case quite new. They are also in the process of renovating the rooms. There is also a newer annex in which more modern rooms are located! I especially liked the small but fine new sauna area (photos attached). The use, however, costs a symbolic euro, rather unusual. The breakfast is, let's say: Okay. Everything there, but nothing special. The cheap Aufbackbrötchen have bothered me. Free wireless Internet access is available throughout the complex. The location near the airport (5km) is ideal.

The food was very good. The service is very accommodating. There are ample parking spaces. The airport is about 10 minutes away.

The location is something special. Near the airport but far away from the center. Through the planes it is tags over very loud. In general it is very noisy. So you also hear the neighbors very well. The décor is old-fashioned and somewhat worn to me to be still stylish. I had a huge room and the breakfast I felt was rich and good. The staff was also always nice and polite to me.

The food very good and the place very cozy.

Furnishings on the stand of 30-40 years ago, dark colours, old-looking carpets, bathroom equipment and above all radiators — cover. Small, rather noisy Standatdzimmer. Requests in reservation (9 months ahead! ) were not taken into account! Breakfast normal, staff normal to moderately friendly. Bus outside the door, subway 10 minutes walk. Room noisy to the street. This was my second stay, will not come back again!

Spent 1 night here due to flight failure.
Very friendly and courteous staff. The room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast with a large selection, all nicely served as Buffett and very good. I felt very wanted.

Unfortunately, the repeated booking did not take into account our previous wishes.
We have a French bed 62/57 years, body size 1.90m.
Room/bathroom are clean.
Food in the restaurant is not so good, failed.

My window was on the courtyard and the bar patrons kept me up until about 2am. Otherwise a great little hotel.

We were to the point for a night at the hotel Angel guest, just outside of the city situated for this but a little in the Green, Nice staff, clean rooms, very good breakfast and cuisine and service in the restaurant was particularly commendable.

The staff was very friendly, breakfast OK. Unfortunately the rooms not so well liked. The Wi-Fi was totally overloaded and unusable. Get fast metro ride to the Centre.

I think in the first place, the situation is not good. I was accused that I am not alone Sleep! What makes me very angry! My room was anscheid controlled and there were things found. In the first place, it is my Private property what there is around, that is not what is concerned. It makes me angry that you here is a regular and with something like that is blamed and controlled. I'm not in prison. In the bed are also hair from other what I also very disgusting to me.

Nice hotel. Tasty breakfasts, clean rooms, Wi-Fi access, friendly english-speaking personnel. Lived here 4 days. Impression: very positive. Just remark: on the state of end of May 2013, breakfasts and Wi-Fi are additional services.

Good location, clean as well as smokers and non-smokers. Breakfast is also good and tasty.
