MEININGER Hotel Berlin Mitte

Was mostly happy with the stay. Clean room, 3 beds were comfortable and warm, bathroom and shower were adequate size. Super convenient location next to a tram and subway station, and only 15 minutes max to most attractions around Berlin and 45 minutes to the airport. Staff was friendly and spoke good English. You can order breakfast or not. We were greeted with a few free croissants.
Only thing I didn't like was that they make you pay for luggage storage after checkout — they give you a discount code but you have to sign up to the service and it costs 3.50 for one suitcase WITH the code. That was annoying — hotels should provide luggage storage for free.

Hotel located in a very good position to visit all the attractions in Berlin, with tram and S-Bahn next to the property. The quadruple room in a mixed female dormitory is not very spacious and the lockers are small. I appreciated very nice bathroom with shampoo, shower gel and towels provided. Very friendly and helpful staff. I recommend the property for a short stay.

I stayed for four night with my parents and two kids. Both rooms were basic but fine, the beds were okay. The three person room had little storage space for our clothes and the entrance was very narrow. The shower was tiny. But the price for our stay was great. We had a good stay, slept well. The breakfast was really nice. The locations is great, in a nice neighbourhood and practically on top of a S-bahn station and next to the tram. U-bahn and trains were also close and Berlin hauptbahnhof is only 20 minutes away by tram.
On the day we left it turned out we had to pay to leave our luggage in the luggage storage. I was very surprised they charged us for that, never before have I been charged for that at a hotel. Luckily the guy at the counter gave us a discount. Still I thought it was very overpriced. So one recommendation: stop charging for the luggage storage.

I only have good things to say about this place. Stayed in a double room on my own. Everything was very clean, bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home, bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. Shower may be a bit small (for American standards), but it is the same standard shower size throughout Europe. The important thing is that it was very clean. Staff are very nice and helpful (and very forgiving about my lack of German). Breakfast is very nice, too. The freshly baked bread is delicious. Late check out is great, too. For about 15USD you get to ckeck out at 2pm. The location is also great. I walked everywhere I wanted to go (including the tour I took) and the surrounding area has a lot of bars, restaurant, pharmacies, and everything you may need. The only thing they dont have is a laundry room, but there's a laundry room within 15 min walk. As a solo female traveler, this place was exactly what I needed: clean, safe, walking distance to main touristic destinations and very nice staff. Also, super fast and reliable free Wi-Fi.

Good points:
— Location in the centre of Berlin in the trendy part of the Mitte district (lots of restaurants, close to main attractions)
— Close to means of transport: S-Bahn station and Tram stop are located in front of the hotel.
— Nicely designed rooms (and shower rooms)
Drawbacks:
— Very noisy clients due to the large number of multi-bedded rooms hosting up to 8 people (schoolchildren running in the corridors until after midnight in the week ; club-goers coming back to the hotel between 3 and 4 am in the week-end) combined with poor sonic insulation of the rooms. As a result I could hardly sleep, which is a problem when sleeping is the main reason for going to an hotel.
— Unpleasant staff attitude at reception when I reported the issue (couldn't do anything and could not care less)
— Unpleasant breakfast room full of bulky tables and as a result lacking of moving space.

8 man room was way too small while the 4 man room was just as big with a bathroom twice as small. Very unfair and not fair. The Lobby was pretty cool to chill in and the breakfast also tasted pretty good. The hotel is in the middel of Berlin which makes reaching tourist attractions easy. Overall I liked the hotel except for the rooms, if you are 4 people you will really enjoy this hotel though.

Staff were excellent throughout, always on hand to offer assistance, advice & support. Hotel was in excellent condition & very clean. Spotless room, bed linen & towels.
Room was a little basic with limited hanging space no hangers in our rooms, although staff member located some within minutes.

Perfect location to visit the main attractions in the center of Berlin. I was in a 4 bed dorm. The rooms and private bathrooms are clean, modern and comfortable. There is enough space for everyone and lockers. The breakfast is amazing. I was very surprised by the large choice offered. The only negative point is the noise. It was still very hot during September and there is no AC. We need to open the window to get fresh air. And during the night, even the windows closed, we heard everything in the street. I used earplugs during my sleep and it was fine for me. But maybe not for everyone… However, I would totally recommend this place.

Our room was very spacious and clean, with modern furnishings and a few treats when we checked in. Right outside the hotel are various public transportation stops too so it’s a great base. Very nice breakfast in the morning too. I’d recommend it if you want a no-fuss and budget friendly place to stay in Berlin!

We get here for work. They all state it’s silent, controled etc.

Wrote a lot comments on Booking and after first message that they will check, no one did anything.
Please for love of god, think twice about this hotel. Sadly we had to pay in advance and we have two more nights here.

Good environment and chief.

When we visit a city where this hotel chain is present we always book. Informal and simple environments with good and accurate service.
Really recommended.
