Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin

The Adlon Berlin is probably the flagship (or at least one of the flagships) of the Kempinski brand of hotels. It is a Grand Hotel. Very large, with am impressive lobby and lobby lounge that is perpetually crowded with tourists. That can get very annoying for hotel guests.
The location is right at the Brandenberg Gate at the start of Unter Den Linden. THere is a S/U Bahn Station right next to the hotel. So it is very well located. But the immediate vicinity is always crowded with tourists and it feels like you are in a chaotic area of the city.
Reception was polite, though our room was only ready near 3 pm. So we had to wait. Concierge was polite but not very helpful when we asked for him to make us a lunch reservation. He simply said … oh you can go to this … cafe and they will have a table for you. We went and had to wait for quite a while to be seated, plus the food was awful.
We booked a Junior Suite. It was on the 6th (top) floor. The room itself measuring about 58 square metres was decently decorated with ageing furniture, which has seen much better days. Everything looked old and worn out. Though cleanliness was acceptable and thanks to the excellent housekeeping, the hotel does it's best to ensure that despite the obviously less then five star level standards you'd expect of such a hotel, the place is kept clean enough and functional enough. Bathroom was adequate with good water pressure.

Premier hotel with a very awesome staff who made us feel like royalty. All the restaurant recommendations and bookings as well as excellent house keeping. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you can. It also perfectly located in Berlin to reach majority of the tourist stuff.

I was really excited to spend a few days at this famous old hotel. I’ve been told it was the first luxury hotel in Berlin and I have stayed at other Kempinski properties. My room was lovely…quiet, well appointed, and a nice size. Unfortunately, I received quite mixed service. The Concierge and was excellent, as were the front door staff and housekeeping. Service at breakfast was adequate, although there was a long queue and my order of berries never did materialize. The spa was both expensive and disappointing. My masseur gave me a 50 minute massage (I had booked in 80 minutes). My facial was all about upsell. The first receptionist I encountered at the spa was new but she did a great job, but the second one had terrifying Botox lips at only 27. Likewise the service at the lobby bar, where I met a colleague for tea was served our scones 45 minutes after our tea (at least they were comped). Room service was prompt but the club sandwich was soggy and inedible (the sweet potato fries were nice at least). Sadly I can not give this hotel 5 stars. They obviously need to hire more staff, better cooks and IMHO they need to completely rethink the spa.

Very nice service and cozy.

The really lovely staff of the Hotel Adlon takes care of its guests, you almost have the feeling of having booked a butler service, very great! the food highlights for me were the Russian caviar and the champagne. The hotel itself cannot be topped by other high-class hotels by its steepness in history alone.

Amazing visit to sample the famous Kaiser cup 🥤. Great service, amazing staff who made us very welcome even though we weren't staying guests. We'll done all!

Beautiful hotel, perfectly trained and very friendly staff.
An extra point for exceptionally selected dishes such as kebab with truffle and currywurst with gold ❤️ — looks great and tastes excellent.
Car removal and delivery service are the icing on the cake.
