Reviews of The Mandala Suites
The highlight of this stay was the staff. They were incredibly eager to please and proactive. Anything we asked for, they tried to provide.
The accommodation was large — definitely a big layout! Great walk in closet with a safe. Nice bath. We liked having a sitting room. We had splurged for what we thought would be a luxury stay.
What we hadn't understood that this was not a hotel. Instead, it is a sprawling set of apartments in a very large multi-purpose building with only very few staff running them, and on limited hours. The furnishings (particularly the lamps) were spare — it was not as nice as the photos and had far fewer pieces than the website had indicated. The art was a strange mix of fashion photos and desert photos — all black and white. The kitchen was very poorly stocked, with odd numbers of cups, minimal cutlery, and no refill on coffee or tea or sugar for the week. It was disappointing that no one gave us an orientation, there was no manual in the room, and the app didn't make it easy to see amenities the property offered (we never made it to breakfast, because we couldn't figure out where & when it was). We gave up asking hotel staff for help because it seemed odd that management hadn't realized we would need a dish towel to dry dishes, or a power strip in order to plug our devices into the very very few outlets.
The spa/workout facilities are nice but close early — at 8pm.
There is both an internal courtyard and an external courtyard.
We stayed here with our 4 month old baby. The cot they provided was perfect. The livingroom and bedroom were all one big room but it was large enough that we could sit on the sofa and watch TV after our baby was sleeping at night and not disturb her. The staff were extremely helpful, we had forgotten adaptor plugs and they lent us some for the weekend. The location is excellent with Check Point Charley less than a 5 minute walk down the street where you can get the hop on hop off bus. We used the underground to get about a lot which was perfect as the station was just outside the door. Would definitely recommend and if we go back to Berlin this is where we would stay.

We enjoyed a lot staying in The Mandala suites the location was great, the room was very cosy and spacious. The bed was very comfy. Reception service is very polite and helpful. The only shortcoming I could highlight — given that this is apart hotel, It´s unfortunate that room dont have iron and ironing board. Probably, could be requested or are available in the laundry, but we did not have time to check during our stay.
