citystay Hostel Berlin Mitte Hostel

I came all the way from Finland to Berlin, actually first time in Berlin but it was nice actually. I took the train from Prague to Berlin, Prague was a horrible story that I could never imagine. In contrast to dirty and disgusting hostel in Prague, the citystay Mitte was nice actually. I booked the bed for the last minute (because I tried to escape from Prague because it was horrible) but the price was acceptable. Moreover, the staffs were helpful and friendly except one dark skin color woman working in the kitchen for breakfast was rude and bad mannered to me, another one was a bit angry when I told her ‘no coffee at the breakfast table anymore’. Apart from those little negative things, I had a good time at the hostel, staffs were nice actually, they helped me keep my laptop in the security box and friendly when I asked to bring me back my laptop because I needed it for my work. The roommates were nice actually! One American girl, one Spanish guy and German girl were pretty friendly to me, we had a good time except 2 Australian guys were pretty loud and disrespect towards others in the early morning but other than that, it was nice. I like the hostel and definitely will recommend and come back next time if I visit Berlin.

Windows that provide good air circulation, good breakfast.

Too insterested in making a stupid joke for some cheap publicity and ruining a nice thing made for children when they took the traveling bear Sebastian and turned it into a joke aboit alcohol and theft. Very difficult to understand what could motivate grown people to do such a thing.

Just. Nah. Even if you let go of the known fact that the bathrooms are shared. Showers have an automatic shutdown system if they can't recognize movement, and by movement I mean drunk-like dancing while underwater, otherwise you get to experience your wet body in the cold dark. Good: Clean rooms and showers, despite being shared by many people. There's an elevator. Laundry was expensive but efficient. Bad: Staff makes you feel like you're guilty. They thought we were going to pay by cash, and gave us the death stare when we said we were actually planning on paying by credit card, each person to their own. We felt bad every time we had to approach them. Breakfast was all out if you don't come there early. The carpet in the corridor on our floor had a sharp scent of piss and dust. There's a small passage which is like an open corridor, on the outside that you gotta go through, between the entrance and the rooms area, people, who are residents of the hostel always smoke there. I'm not a smoker. Disclaimer: this was a year ago.

Great budget hostel with a killer social atmosphere. Prime location within walking distance to all major attractions. A lot of amazing restaurants are right around the corner. Rooms are spacious and clean + very comfortable beds! Fast Wi-Fi and clean shared bathrooms. Highly recommended!

Excellent location and everything you need. Central courtyard is a good hang out but some people don’t understand others like to sleep!

Pretty great hostel overall. The people were cool and the place was clean. The many private showers were nice to have. The location of this place is also fantastic.

The level of security at this hostel makes you feel really safe, and there's always good music playing in the lobby, which matches Berlin's cool young people vibe. The staff and rules are really reasonable — you pay a 2€ deposit for your key card, which you get back upon checkout. There are plenty of showers and bathrooms available, and the water is hot; I never had a problem with that. They clean the bathrooms every morning, which is great.

The service is nice, the breakfast is good, you can make as noise as possible at night in the common area!

The location is wonderful, staffs are kind and the reception is 24h. The rooms are clean. And finally the renting fees are affordable.

Extraordinarily good experience with the Citystay Berlin: At the end of April 2018 I was accommodated here for a weekend in Berlin. Super centrally located, perfect starting point to explore the city, a simple hostel, was in a multi-bed room with friends, very clean the whole thing, 24 hours of access with card and delicious Augustinian beer is available in the lobby. So far as so good – the great one is coming now: Since we were five people instead of four, a folding bed was simply put in the room. This has left a good impression of the service at the check-in.
On departure then I left my iPad in the room. I didn't notice that until hours later — a few 100 km away. The room had a lockable locker with padlock, which I also used. I left the locker empty – down to the iPad — that was still open in it: — (With a call in Citystay, the room was immediately checked. It hadn't been further substantiated yet and the iPad was still in it.
It was delivered to me free of charge and well packaged home with the post office.
What a great service! I was very pleased with this honesty and the uncomplicated handling – thank you very much to Sara from the Citystay, who took care.

Nice place for a weekend in Berlin. Staff everything tiptop, very friendly and helpful. Even when I had flogged my castle, the caretaker came straight with a bolt cutter. Praise the Lord. That's service. The rooms were okay, but I don't expect anything at €20am the night either. The drunken English have already somewhat disturbed the atmosphere. Come back, but then I want to have a drink on the house;) 5 stars.

Attention very bad wave. The room didn't have a table. For the towels had to leave deposit. Breakfast is only paid in cash and not very full.

What a sketch for payment! They do not take the credit card, do not make the change, and want the exact amount! We wanted to round up the euro at the top to make it easier for everyone, but no. Obliged to pay the penny near otherwise we could not access the room. Not very clean, noisy.

Splendid place and very interesting for young people. Highly recommended.

Very good location The reception staff did their function well although they did not bother to explain the hostel's layout. The elevator was out of service for the four days I was there.

I stayed at this hotel for many times now. Always with my school groups. It is a nice hostel. Big rooms, nice staff and a good vibe. There are +/-6 or 7 showers on each floor and 4 bathrooms. Most of the time we don't notice other guest so, we are quick with the showers. The breakfast is good and the location of the hostel is great. Very close to Alexanderplatz and easy access from/to the airport with bus TXL.

Good location, close to many monuments, the TV tower is just behind it. A bit loud at night gor people who like absolute calm to sleep. Near to transports, restaurants, souvenir stores.

Staff very nice. They should invest in better conditions in the shower areas.

It's about my fifth time at Citystay. Each time I come to Berlin, I stay here. It's just so perfectly located! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable an the staff is nice. What more can you ask for?

A really excellent hotel which I can only highly recommend. The staff are super sympathetic and you will meet the most interesting people here. AN info material is not missing here and no matter what you have forgotten at home, you get it here immediately.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, just right for a hostel. The breakfast was very good for the price. The team was very friendly and helpful.

Cosy, relatively clean, in large rooms there is enough space, so they don't seem too crowded. Bar open 24/7, so you can grab a beer when you are back from the city center. Large bathrooms, separate from toilets. Breakfast looked good though we decided to eat out. Staff was polite, helpful and quite nice. Music in bar was not annoying.

Good place to stay for younger travellers. Breakfast is worth the price. Staff was very friendly. The hostel is near the Alexander platz, in the center of Berlin. Wide range of drinks in the bar. I would absolutely recommend it.

Good place, well placed in the center of Berlin without the district Mitte. Near Metro tram and bus (line 100 and 200 among other). Close to several Christmas markets. The room (single room 2 beds) was simple but clean. Clean communal showers, no shampoo or SOAP available in. Towel loan with a deposit of 5euros rendered at the end. Welcome, no worries very happy about my stay in this hostel.

If you come here, you think you do so primarily because of the unbeatable prices and because of the very central location near Alexanderplatz. However, much should not be expected. Breakfast buffet only satisfies the lowest requirements, in the Dorms you only get a free outlet with luck. To stay, though, okay.

Nice hotel for short stay. Airport bus stop (txl) is very nearby. There is a McDonald's at walking distance. You also get luggage storage for free. Quite a central location.

Really good location, comfy and spacious rooms helpful staff. Common area is really nice and a really good way to meet peoole. They also let you store your bags for free in the storage room which is locked. Some people think the showers were not as clean as other hostels. They are not as powerful as others and you have to keep pressing the button. Overall, a really good hostel.

It has been a lovely experience. Staff was simply the best I have seen so far. Rooms were big and clean and plenty of toilets and showers. Although at night time it was super crowed as the hostel got its own bar (which instead accepts only cash! ) But cheap prices and got happy hours with discounted prices on certain drinks. It also allows you to bring your own drinks from the shop. There a big open area with tables seats and umbrellas. Inside at the reception you find as well plenty of sofas and seats and plugs were to charge your phone. Location is great too and honestly stay was at a very cheap rate.

I was soooo annoyed with this hostel, upon leaving the d*** head with the beard, pointed me in the wrong direction to the bus station. He was more interested in stroking his homeless beard, and not really caring about anything that was going on. BUY A RAZOR! He also drinks tea with a saucer, what is that all about? His not arsedness and not taking in interest in what I was saying, and giving me wrong directions cost me €250. I missed my bus, had to get a last minute train which was €160! And then the bus cost, food cost and everything on top cost me dearly. And I have now run out of money. Next time pal, stop being uninterested and actually be a decent human being!

Location is great, can't ask to be more central. Rooms seem clean and well maintained and have a good character, however they do get quite hot if you leave the windows closed. Bar is really nice, very friendly staff and people. Furthermore unlike most bars they play decent music!

Lockers could still be opened with a closed padlock on them. You can only pay with cash at this hostel.
In my opinion there wasn't really a nice atmosphere in the bar or dorms. Bad Wi-Fi. Bed was okay.

The hotel is really close to the metro station (3 minutes walking). The beds are really comfortable and for the price it is very well recommend.

The hostel itself is good. The beds are comfortable and the rooms also. They have access by magnetic card. Towel service is free (leaving a deposit that it is then returned to the output).
The location is OK. It is close to most of the tourist spots or interest.
Perhaps what should be improved is the frequency of cleaning of the bathrooms.

My absolute Lieblingshostel in Berlin. Very nice people working there, all very relaxed.

The location of the hostel is near a metro stop which makes it convenient to get anywhere in the city. The hostel is also very clean and the staff is friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We had booked a private room for 2 nights and were initially impressed by the friendly staff. The room itself was only ok. The advertised, comfortable bed was a double bed with a mattress on which each individual spring was felt. We searched for the safe, which supposedly should be present in every room, in vain. The room was small, but to the perfectly adequate sleep. The sanitary facilities were the greatest shortcoming of our stay. After early morning showers all were, it has been an imposition, a shower to use. I have a rare so disgusted. Hair, old plaster and other Schaurigkeiten who have left our predecessors, corrupted me to stay here. The toilets were in a similar State. Of course we saw also the cleaning staff, but as hostess, it's easy to their task, to worry that all guests can shower clean at all times and use toilets. Also it it is advertised that it free can rent towels. Problems with the laundry however meant that we got together just a towel. Closer looking at we have seen, that is a huge spot dried up or what ever was. The towel would have actually a case for the dustbin and oblivious to what it offers to its guests.
All in all was a stay, which left largely disillusionment so. That could not make up for then also the perfect location in the Centre. We won't be back in any case.

How is Cavtat is located near two room for the month?

The toilets were not so clean during the morning and the room is a bit noisy due to the central location. Breakfast is really good and the staff really friendly!

Excellent, we don't have any problem. Kind staff. They have Wi-Fi in the reception but if you room is on the first floor you also have conection. You can do check out and leave your luggage there in a room with key. We ask them if we can have a shower when we went to our bags and they let us without paying nothig more. If I come back Berlin I'll book here.

If we assume that Hostels are not the same Service as Hotels, but much cheaper, then you can CityStay only praise. I live there for more than 18 months regularly once a month, and I feel "sow well". The staff is extremely friendly, the atmosphere is not stuffy — like Hotels — but youthful and fresh. I always have to say again: I feel with you completely comfortable, and in good hands!

Little experience in Hostel but the truth is that this is a hostel of level, the private room better than many hotels, bathrooms spotless, no noise at all. The reception is very nice and the location perfect. I would certainly return.
