Good atmosphere, very friendly staff, the place is clean. In the kitchen there is oven and microwave. A kitchen and a couple more tables would be missing. But overall I liked it.

Well, but can confuse the room, moreover, mad crap in the kitchen and in the men's showers.

I stayed there for two weeks and had a lot of fun. Very nice staff. The beds were amazing. Not too soft & not too hard. Slept like a baby. The bathrooms we're not that impressive, but you can not have it all. The rooms though, we're very cleanliness, and the housekeeping open & friendly. For sure, next time I pass Berlin, I know where to go.

This hostel is decent, located pretty close to the Berlin Wall. There's public transportation options (S and U Lines, Trams) not too far away from it. The staff at reception is friendly and helps you with getting settled in as well as around Berlin. The rooms are clean has comfortable beds, do bring a large padlock to lock your belongings in the lockers though. Showers and toilets are decently clean and well-maintained. There is a bar downstairs that is usually crowded at night and is a fun place to go to.

Cheap, but you get what you pay for. Whereas other cheap hostels have fairly good lockers that you could fit carry-on bags into, Ballhaus does not. There was also a distinct lack of bathrooms for each floor considering how many people can be on the floor. Location is about 10 minutes away from Berlin Hauptbanhof, which means it's not actually that close for this to be a super convenient location, though you can access the metro (U6) specifically fairly easily, as it's right outside. For someone looking for a place close to central transit to get to the airport the morning after, Ballhaus served it's purpose, but not comfortably.

I really enjoyed my time in this Hostel and is always my first option everytime I go to Berlin. Comfortable beds and the lounge area is very nice and quiet. Although they could improve a bit more the toilets cleaning.

Room and bathroom spazionsi and well provided the location is very central and you reach everything easily by the subway stop a short distance I will definitely.

The double room with the bathroom is more from hotel than from hostel, clean and with bathroom really comfortable comfortable. Great in everything, location and also very quiet.

Very good value for money. Friendly and attentive staff. The only point to improve are the showers, there you can not change well. A gym-type bench would be necessary. If you go remember to wear big padlock for the box office.

A friendly place, well connected, well priced and quite new. They put us in the Attic (5th floor) and we only miss curtains, bedside tables and a night lamp. It has an elevator, a quiet place and a cafeteria inside.

Location is very nice but the service I was unimpressed with. I was woken up in the middle of the night by the front desk clerk saying I had taken the bed of someone in my room. It was the last bed in the room and I was placed in the correct room. Also, I paid for a towel and it was taken off of my bed so that I had to pay twice for it. It was clear that I was still in the hostel (other items on the bed).

Not the best organized hostel but the bedding is good and the location is perfect for making walking tours attention the kitchen is very sketchy and without plates.

Great hostel! The atmosphere is very not tense. Nobody bothers anybody, everything is simple and without problems. The shower is shared on the floor, well like that even without a difference. The staff is very friendly. Five balls!

Good place to stay. Price is reasonable. You will find great travellers and explorers from around the world. Close to centre and station.

Very convenient spot, near the subway and supermarket (has kitchen). Bar downstairs and surrounding bars also. 24 hour reception, I met nice people there and the rooms were clean. Hopefully I will return.

The location is very convenient. Easy to get to Tegel airport and in to the city. Comfortable bed and friendly staff.

Good place, friendly staff, comfortable bed, private women rooms, good internet connection, good location, only water batteries keep pressing and no temperature control, and some wicked art pieces.

If you looking for an affordable hostel in the center of Berlin, maybe this is good choice. But overall I didn't enjoy stay here. Sometimes elevator broken, so you have to walk with your luggage up to 3rd floor (reception on the 3rd floor), rooms at 3rd and 4th floor. Room was quite clean and has each locker for everyone. Bathroom was not enough for everyone, toilet only one for maybe 20 people!

Lack of respect and rudeness. Customer satisfaction is not the top priority of this hostel!

This hostel is awful! My friend was robbed despite using the hostel's locker, and they said that it was her problem.

My friend was stolen inside the hostel, using a padlock provided by the hostel, and the hostel's owner didn't try to help her. Instead, he kicked her out of the hostel, by calling the police, while she was just trying to talk to him. Besides, she has already payed for that night, and he expelled her without give her money back. Terrible behavior with the customer!

I wouln't recommend to anyone. The hostel didn't help a friend of mine who was stolen because the padlock they provided was broken. The main thing you hope from a hostel is friendly and supportive behavior. Shame!

This hostel does not provide any security for their guests. My friend was robbed while using their locker and a padlock provided by them. As if that weren't enough, they did absolutely nothing about it and kicked her out of the hostel in the middle of the night!

Simple yet nice hostel. Very centrally located and no more than a few minutes walk from the nearest U bahn stop. Only negatives I can think of is the lack of air conditioning and only 1 toilet per floor.

Clean and spacious room (very important), close proximity to the Hauptbahnhof. Metro and Tram stop nearby. Pretty good overall. The shower felt a bit like a car wash though with the water booming down so strongly.

The price is reasonable, near the Grand Central Station, and the restaurant is near by. Refrigerators, kitchens, microwaves, ovens, hot pots, very convenient.
Disadvantages: Room cabinets can not be locked, shower equipment is not good (hot water).

It's okay. Beds were nice. It right beside the metro and close to places with food and close to a supermarket. Has a very good bar. Doesn't have breakfast. Shower is quite bad. But it's okay overall.

Clean comfortable and safe. There's an excellent review on this page by someone called Eddie Rich, and I second everything he says. I was familiar with the Ballhaus Club before, and the hostel had just opened when I stayed there. Excellent Wi-Fi, very clean everywhere, and friendly helpful staff. I was usually staying with friends on the other side of Berlin but it was more economical to stay at the Ballhaus than travel by taxi. Definitely good value and highly recommended.

I saw this place on hostel world, but because they just opened after renovations, they didn't have many reviews. I stopped in to check it out before booking a room, but to make sure I felt good about it… and this hostel is great! Ok, entering for the first time feels a little weird? You go in a huge gate that looks like a circus, walk through what looks like will be an awesome patio in the summer, into a strange service hallway, and ring a bell. They talk to you over interc…om, and buzz you in, and you go up to the third floor. Take the elevator when you've got your luggage, but later, make sure you take the stairs, because the art in the stairwells in amazing! They are massive prints from a show in the gallery downstairs, and they are beautiful and provocative. The entire hostel has been redone. Obviously the building is amazingly old, it's the oldest hostel in Berlin. But all new flooring, furniture, bathrooms, and windows have really updated it. The bunks are sturdy, and each, one has a light and an outlet at it. The rooms have lockers, and there is additional luggage storage behind the front desk. The sheets are way nicer than most hostels, and feel super clean. The bathrooms are small, and the and showers are the kind with a button you have to push every sixty seconds, but hey, it saves water, right? The only downside I felt was that there isn't a kitchen, but in such an old place, you can see how adding one would have been way too much work.

All good things are 3 : The Ballhaus Berlin, the Alt Berlin and now the Hostel in the Ballhaus Berlin! Celebrate and stay in a place where nostalgia and modernity come together perfectly…

The Combo of Hostel and ball house is very ingenious — the bottom party and above, then take a NAP.

Very nice hostel at an affordable price. Rooms and showers are clean. Kitchen is well equiped too.

Rooms are very "nice". Unfortunately repeated incidents of theft by the cleaning staff. But at least a towel with emotional value no valuables, and one bag of high quality Dosenpfaninhalt. Everything else quite nice and friendly staff at the front desk.

Something alternative, for young people class :) is really what go who early in bed wants to sleep a bad has and which is rather hostel discouraged by this.

Each room has a different theme and every single one of these themes are amazing. The rooms on the reception/bar level can get really noisy with people partying in the living room but other than that the hostel was really nice.

Narrow, annoying, noisy. This is what I saw in Baxpax. Never gonna choose this one.

1. ) Mind. 70 people on one floor and only 1 Sitzklo (For men). No Einmalpapier towels but a textile towel for up to 70 people. Very Tasty. 2. ) An outlet in a 10 man room? 3. ) No Breakfast, here is one on a walk into the Paxpax Downtown sent. I hope I never again have to.

Great and fun hostel, helpful friendly staff. Clean rooms and Bathrooms. Located near a U Bahn stop. Good shared kitchen and bar area.

The coolest hostel in Berlin. You'll find bathroom and place to take shower separated and absolutely cleaned. Every floor is an art (street art — you'll be in Berlin :), staff is friendly, speaks english very well and you'll find yourself in a very good place, near to the U-Bahn (Naturkundemuseum). Wifi really works in all parts of the hostel :). Recommended.

Close to the main train station and direct links into the city. The rooms are all differently designed and look Awesome.

We were 12 people staying there for one night after partying in berlin, and it was fun! many international people around. Probably would stay somewhere else if I was alone, though. Anyway, friendly staff, nice hostel.
