It was my first experience in an economy hotel. I trusted Ibis brand to save some money and to not worry about my stay. The room was a little bit hot. Even with the thermostat set to minimum I felt hot inside room. But I have to register here a very unpleasant situation a barman created for me. After a wonderful weekend in Berlin, on a Sunday night, I decided to have dinner at the hotel. But the barman told me I had to leave because I had a coke with me. It was the bottle I was drinking on the way to the hotel and there was just a little… The barman told me to leave the restaurant, simple like that. I asked if I could stay since I was going to have dinner there. That was when he said I could stay there. I lost my appetite with that situation and I went back to my room. I don't want to stay at an ibis budget again because that is illogical. There is a vending machine at the reception. It could be a coca-cola that was bought at the very same hotel. And that employee thought the fact someone holding 100ml of Coca-Cola is a good reason to ask a guest to leave the restaurant. I have already stayed in several hosts. From cheap Airbnb to high-class hotels and I nobody never treated me like that. The worst part happened when I talked to the manager. At first, he tried to explain to me that the barman could not recognize that I was a guest. But he had to agree with me that the barman was absurd when I asked what should I be wearing? A suit or my room key as a badge? This situation happened on Sunday, July 3rd, 2018 at the ibis restaurant. At least the manager tried to apologize in the name of the hotel. But not to feel welcome at a place I pay to stay, ruined my impressions about ibis management.
