Sehr ansprechende Location — direkt am Kochelsee mit Blick auf die Berge (Herzogenstand). Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Preise sind auch schwer in Ordnung. 3, 50€ für eine Ruß sind voll okay für eine Touristengegend. Das Restaurant würde ich als Urig, gemütlich bezeichnen. Würde auch zum Essen kommen.

Quite good, but not overwhelming. We had roast pork and a children's dish with Spätzle. Food quality is certainly higher where else, you taste the ready-made sauce. The view is great!

I have been thinking for a long time whether I should give one or two stars. There are two. One for the location and the other for breakfast. Unfortunately, everything else was underground. Both the reception at the reception and the service in the beer garden. I have not experienced such chaos among the waiters for a long time. The food is expensive and qualitatively rather mediocre. The wellness area, like the entire complex, is loveless and unkempt. The rooms have been half-heartedly renovated, but there is no clear line. We went on the next day to Schlehdorf, there is a big inn with hotel (only one star) but there we felt completely comfortable!

We stayed for one night at the Seehotel Grauer Bär.
The hotel is located just outside the village, but directly on the lake.
The food in the restaurant was very tasty and was well satisfied with beautiful views directly on the lake.
Breakfast was also delicious, good selection.

The Käsespätzle with schnitzel and Gulash were very good — perfect. The Kellerbier was very good, though not cold enough (both the beer and the glass), but that might've been because it was at the very end of a busy night. The Apfelkügerl was super — the icecream we had, had ice crystals in it (again, probably because it was at the end of a busy night. Overall a very good experience. Definitely worth a revisit.

The views from the terrace during the sunset were breathtaking. Traditional food, for instance Käsespätzle, at a very decent price with enough quality and quantity. Some special beers available. Gentle staff with enjoyable bavarian accent.

Good restaurant with lakeview. The outdoor area is as great as indoor, no reservation needed, even if you come with the bunch, the allow to move tables as you wish. Friendly staff and the food is awesome. Mid price but you can taste the cuisine a la selfmade. Also offers big meat plates, the menu is a piece of work. No easy desicion when everything sounds so tasty. Be there!

Excellent cuisine. Friendly staff. Rooms come a little in the years but great views of the lake. Spa is very successful.

Coffee and cakes are rated: We were looking for a café right by the lake. The Google reviews have taken us to the grey bear. The location is fantastic, unfortunately the beer garden was crowded, so we had to sit inside despite the nice weather. But as you can see from the photos, this is also beautiful. Wide-hinged windows, great views of the lake, nice service (only the elderly lady at the cake counter probably didn't have her best day) and a damn good cake that was still warm when serving …

Lovely view, traditional food with knowledgable staff.

Beautiful hotel with good comfort for the price. I can recommend paying the surcharge and choosing a room with lake views, because this one is already very nice. When in the morning the Lake Kochel is in front of you, it seems calm and mystical when it is still a bit foggy.

The room was very good. €120 for a room with a view on the lake.
The setting is very nice. The friendliness of the waiters is unsatisfactory.

The whole place is a throw back to the 80s, and the food is nothing to write home about either. Prices are middle to high but ok. What drops at least 2 of the stars is the service, unfriendly is an understatement! The view though, wow! For that one star back again.

Unfriendly service and food like in the canteen at prices that are much too high. Furnishings and equipment on the Stand of the 80/90s. The only thing Beautiful is the view of the lake.

The Restaurant is directly on Kochelsee sprayed a bit of the charm from the 60s. Nevertheless, everything is well-maintained and accurately. The map is not too large and includes a good selection of Bavarian dishes. The staff understands his work, of temporary staff is no track here.

On the way to the power plant we wanted to have a coffee and maybe something to eat, so we passed the restaurant "Grey Bear". Outside it was relatively pleasant, with jacket very good. We wanted to sit outside and ask for a fleece rug (which everyone has in the meantime) and got the following saying from an older lady: "So for sleeping you can also go home. Our operation is still sick when it is supposed to operate outside. "Seriously?! The clientele to be paid!
To the rest of the ambiance: very old fashioned, probably matched to the neighbouring home. The view is very nice.
Operation is anything but friendly and simply radiates a certain lack of lust (same lady who also gave us the spell).
We have eaten nothing because we have gone to the pleasure of it.

Again a very nice holiday in the grey bear. Very good and delicious food, great service and super nice staff.
I'm sure we'll be back.

Amazing little place with breathtaking views! Don’t really recommend the beer here but the Kassespatzle is one of the best one.

You can get off, but you don't have to. The room rate ratio full of wit, I was already in better hotels. I think it's because of the situation, but what is worth an experience. You don't need it often in your life, but it's too short.

Fantastic Holiday resort also only for the weekend, delicious food, nice and helpful staff, clean comfortable room, spa with the view over the lake… I travelled together on Friday with my best friend and on Sunday we did not want to leave anymore:)

Very nice hotel and also a great restaurant, located directly on the lake. Breakfast buffet is also great and the view over the lake excellent.

Location is great with lake view, food is also good-but unfortunately it was. The rooms are very small, some with sink in the room!? Toilet/shower very tight, max. For 1 person!

I ate there twice. Very nice view, right on the Kochelsee! Parking spaces available. The food east is really good, good quality. Especially tasty desserts. The prices are good for that. The staff love it. (It is also clean)

In itself very nice and well maintained restaurant with a wonderful view over the Kochelsee. In particular you can see the evening sun very long, which is very nice when you return from a Bergrtour again in the direction of Munich.
On this day at the beginning of October the food was unfortunately not satisfactory.

At the Hotel Grauer Bär you get a fantastic meal, a very good catering and very well maintained hotel rooms. A visit to the grey Bear is highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights there. It was the best ever… it's such a relaxing place. Hotel's location is great, right on the Lake with a beauty of a Forest at the back. See Hotel's restaurant & menu are amazing. My highly recommendation would be Deer Goulash. It's sooooo yummmyyyyyy anyone who hasn't tried it… please do so.!

A very cozy hotel and a gorgeous location right by the lake. Excellent food! We'll definitely be back in spring/summer/autumn/winter. Loved the goats cheese spinach lasagne!

Generous portions, very good service, beautiful views.

We were with a tour group with 34 people for 4 days there. We were very satisfied: clean accommodation, spacious and zwechmässige rooms, wonderful location directly on the Lake, private Jetty, rowing boats for free rent, pleasant Spa, incredibly friendly, super food, all very friendly and nothing was too much for them. It has fallen 34 people very well and we surely will soon come back. A real hit what's price — performance ratio.

Super Hotel: perfect location on the Lake, family friendly, warm reception, restaurant with excellent regional Bavarian cuisine, good wellness area with views of the Lake. Also the breakfast was outstanding.

Completely ignored by 5! Waiters we have after 25 minutes the table without an order to leave. We were not the only ones who got up and gone. Certainly never again!

We were with a large party for coffee and cake or Snack in the Restaurant and on the terrace. We were very pleased and it was delicious. Were planned for 100 people, finally, finally, we were probably about 150. That was no Problem at all. Thanks again.

When you Enter a restaurant, you expect at least a friendly Zunicken. But here you are wrong. After the order has been received, and the food was delivered, we are beaten 30 mins to have been ignored. Yes, there are people who also like what to reorder. Service, friendliness miserable. Cheese platter was also moderately.

Very nice location directly on the lake. Balanced card and the price/quality ratio is very good. Can especially the deer dishes to recommend. Excellent. And of the portions is even a big guy like I had enough.
