Anfangs etwas erschrocken gewesen, da ne woche zu verbringen. Bekam das zimmer ganz oben aufm dach. Wohl weil am rhein alles ausgebucht, daher meine firma mich hier verpfrachtet. Erste nacht dachte ich es spuckt hier. Ab der zweiten erst mich daran gewöhnt und gut schlafen können. Aber irgendwie hat es total charme. Ich meine, es ist einfach zeitgeschichte, wie die eisenbahnstrecke vor der tür, die sich nicht immer nur anpasste. Für den preis, allemal wert. super das direkt vor der tür die strecke verläuft, lärm bringts mit, aber damit ist man schnell in weil und weiter unterwegs mit den öffis. zimmer war schlecht beleuchtet, dafür übergroß. Danke dafür. Das einchecken war etwas komisch, in der bar halt, aber warum nicht. Das klassische rezption spiel wäre nicht zwingend wenn gaststetten nicht an der komfortzone der deutschen faulheit erliegen würden und statt hotels alle gaststätten nutzen würden. Sprich ich finds super, das man sowas altes noch anderen als unterkunft bietet! es erzählt geschichte und das kann kein modernes hotel. die bar unten habe ich nicht genutzt, da ich sowiso beruflich unterwegs war. Aber es wäre was um sich unters volk zu mischen, man ist da schnell willkommen und das bier ist nicht überteuert. die wasserleitungen rochen etwas streng, das wäre schön, wenn man das etwas renovieren/modernisieren könnte. einkaufen muss man knapp 700m laufen und bekommt in nahkauf alles was man braucht. hatte als alleinreisender 4 betten zur auswahl und mega platz.

One of those places where the matraces are to weak to keep you in postion, the linen smells a little bit to much of it's conditioner, some butts left their traces in the shared bathrooms even smoking is prohibitived, a group of russian construction-workers are enjoying their bottle of vodka in the common kitchen and the pub plays german countrymusic (search Google for "Dicke Titten, Kartoffelsalat") allnight long. Definitely one of the most f***** up places I ever stayed. Didn't sleep at all. But it's worth the one star rating as it's german "Provinz" at it's finest and for sure something to remind for your life. Beside the pub, there is a german restaurant nearby and a nightclub with some girls. Be sure to wear your trucker outfit and bring some Malboros! Wild South…

It is a very good choice if you want to stay 1 or 2 days with a cost effective room or if you are in a trip in Basel area or south part of Germany. Otherwise, It is not since there is a pub in downstairs and it is a little bit noisy and noise can be heard easily if you are stay on the first floor. The pub in the downstairs is a classical german pub and smoking allowed. Hotel is not so far from the city center and it takes 15-20 minutes to reach bus stop to visit Basel.
