We have been here for over 10 years. The Straub family is very nice, the rooms/apartment are bright and clean. Great breakfast buffet, home-style cuisine.
Beautiful hiking trails nearby. Titisee, Feldberg, Schluchsee etc. You can reach it quickly from here. Bus stop right in front of the hotel.

Ein Stern ist definitiv einer zu viel für diesen Laden! Man darf mit Krücken das Restaurant nicht betreten und wenn man ein Stützkorsett zwecks Rückenwirbelbruch trägt, wird einem gesagt, es auszuziehen. Hier werden ganz offensichtkich Menschenrechte verletzt! Nie wieder einen Besuch wert und ich rate allen davon ab, solch einen Betrieb zu unterstützen. One star is definitely too much for this place! They won't allow you to enter the restaurant with crutches and demand to remove a corset worn due to a broken back. They obviously abuse basic human rights here! Never worth another visit and I advise anyone not to support such a place.

Cannot understand one or the other negative assessment and consider it to be harmful to business. But in the anonymity of the Internet you can do that. We were here for two, were served nicely and were served a delicious meal. We liked the traditional ambience of the restaurant and the cleanliness. The prices are absolutely fine.

I wanted to shorten my stay by one day, impossible to find an arrangement with the owner. This is probably the schwarwald kindness. Luckily, you also have other experiences here. Pay with card impossible because the phone line does not work because probably the bill was not paid! I advise against planning a stay here. It's a pity. Cleanliness is moderate. The kitchen cabinets. They could get visit from crawling so be careful. They are also threatened with the police if they do not share the opinion of the owner. Communication or customer orientation are foreign words here. Could this be attributed to a financial imbalance of the company? in short, this is the greatest naughty thing I have experienced regarding hotel in my life! let the fingers of this operation!

We have never experienced anything like this before …
When we came to the restaurant with friends four, we asked if we could drink something here. Then three of us ordered something to drink and the fourth didn't want to drink anything at that moment. The innkeeper went backwards and brought the first drinks after a short time. The second time, my girlfriend even ordered a soup afterwards. When, upon request, my buddy still didn't want to order anything, the innkeeper became outrageous and asked the buddy to leave the inn ("they're not a residence room here"), even though the three of us (including his girlfriend) had already ordered something.
My mate actually had to leave the inn. The rest of us were quite perplexed, as such an insouciance has never happened to us before. A brief moment later, we put the landlady to task, but she remained stubborn. As a result, we also left the inn.
A really unfriendly way with which you can gray guests sustainably. We will definitely never stop here and advise everyone on it. This behavior is a basic attitude against hospitality.

Rooms are clean and pleasant. Breakfast is good and adequate. Staff is nice and accommodating.

Room clean, food good, but unfortunately very tense atmosphere. You had the feeling of not being welcome.

The rooms are very clean. We have stayed at the hotel and also in the apartments and both are recommended. Very quiet location with well kept food at traditional cuisine. From there you can start very nice hikes e. G. Into the Wutachschlucht. The Black Forest map also makes it advisable to travel by bus and train.

I didn't get to stay at this hotel because it was booked up. But, we did come back for supper because it did smell very yummy. We got there and we were seated at the entrance of the restaurant beside a a family with a very loud toddler. The table cloth was dirty with fresh stains of food. My friend asked if it was possible to get a table in the gazebo because it has a very nice view to the valley. They said no that that was only for morning bread fast for the Guests that stay at the hotel. Then my friend asked if we could be seated at the restaurant. Seen that it was not even half full, The owner said no because it was they way it was and that if you wanted to be seated at the restaurant you need to reserve ahead. Because only the hotel guests are allow there. End That my friends was my experience with the restaurant side of the place. PS: also don't believe when they said that they only use natural ingredients in their food. I am MSG intolerant and they told us that they don't use it … Guess what… they do.

One star is too many… First of all there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. There is no oven in the rooms only one kitchen for the whole floor but the cheap housekeeper locked it so we couldn't eat dinner. She wouldn't even let us print our flight tickets. don't come near this place!

Three stars are somewhat exaggerated in our eyes. For this there is no beverages (water and glasses) in the room and opportunities to prepare a cup of the tea. On demand, it gave extra tea for €3.50 and a bottle of water for € 4.50.
Also costs the exchange of side dishes (potatoes instead of fries) €1.50 extra.
Mobile phones, Tablet etc are not allowed in the guest room of the landlady. But, since Wi-Fi in the guest room and the front desk available, I can only here on the Internet. Otherwise dinner very well, only the 'fresh' salads come straight from the fridge and the potatoes had little bite. Maybe a microwave oven? For breakfast, there was on the first day of thawed discounter rolls, inside ungebacken and frozen were. On demand, there was a new one from the microwave oven. That was but also only half finished and inside little frosty. See picture. On the whole, but acceptable, and rich. Customer requirements are not considered "Fried day" once a boiled egg. Sure, there were fresh bakers bread and boiled eggs on Sunday!
There should be improved a little to achieve a 3Sternenivau.
Otherwise a satisfying overall. 2 star is probably more like it.

Nice little Hotel with clean rooms, good regional cuisine and a friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I had a lovely holiday. Beautiful Desk, a comfortable room and above all, good hospitality and friendly service. Especially the down-to-earth regional cuisine was very tasty. The game dishes are highly recommended.

Great location, good breakfast and very delicious 4-course half-board menu which is very varied. Thank you.

Booked one night at this hotel on the internet by mistake after check-in time was already over. When I got there 30 minutes later, it was closed and dark, and knocking repeatedly on the door did not help. No one answered. So I had to find another hotel open at this hour (not an easy job at 21: 00 in the black forest). When I woke up the next day I found out that the hotel charged me 136 euros for not showing up, even though I was there and the door of the hotel was locked. So I went there to try and talk to the owner of the hotel, but see just yelled at me, and told me that if I would not get out of her property, her husband would throw me out. I would definitely stay the hell away from this place.

Unfortunately despite having good location, and a friendly female staff, equipped with an employee who is a bitter and treats the customers as if they were trash. We had a bad experience, since the hotel doors close them with wrench and at 7 in the evening you must ring the doorbell. CMI husband had a problem with the Lord because of the key, and to go up to our room, said Hill used our room key and could not leave, bone were abducted to the point that we had to call the police. Police porto excellently well, and even told us that not us legal reference that bad experience, which is an isolated case. THE Black Forest is beautiful, but not in this hotel. And by the way if after this story are looking forward to go there, tell them that if reserve for 4 days while staying two days will need to pay the Bill for the 4 days.
