Great location, but make sure you ask for a room with air conditioning, as its right next to the train station opening a window for fresh air isn't really an option. Breakfast is good, nice selection of continental buffet. The small bar seems to be open randomly, but there are plenty of places with in a few minutes walk to eat and drink. Especially around the cathedral in the centre of the city (5-7 minutes walk away)

Overall, stay has been excellent. Staff have been super friendly. I had originally booked a room for 1 person and later my partner was able to accompany me. When we arrived I was told that the booking was only for 1, as if this were an insurmountable obstacle. It took a few minutes before I asked if we could just pay for the additional person. All solved after that (I only mention it because it was a rather strange exchange). The hotel is perfectly located for train travel, close to the university, and historic sites within a 15 minute walk. Note that proximity to the train station comes with additional noise despite excellent sound insulated windows (we are used to using earplugs and used them here), but I don't think the noise is too intrusive. Would definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel is ok. Staff pre-empt. Unfortunately, parking is problematic and. Very expensive. Free w-lan can be improved. Breakfast great.

The hotel serves its purpose and is clean.
The room is fine in size, but you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. You don't hear any noises from the station.
The bed is ok and the room tidy. The staff is friendly.
We got a ticket for the public, but parking in the car park is very expensive.

Third stay in this centrally located hotel, great breakfasts, BUT the evening restaurant was never open.

No, never again! I hate this hotel! There was no reason to think about sleep because you heard the trains and station announcements on every announcement. Don't come to this hotel you won't like it!

Functional Hotel. Ideally located for rail travellers. Thanks to the ticket for public transport in Freiburg, you can reach the heart of the city centre in just a few minutes by tram. Very friendly staff at reception and service.

Excellent location, staff are nice, clean room but a bit noisy.

Spacious and tidy rooms, as well as always freshly made beds. Also the checkin ran fast and uncomplicated. Even the station next to it is not heard, so that you can sleep through the night quietly and not awakened by the trains in the morning. Definitely one of two hotels that I use regularly when I am in Freiburg.

The hotel is centrally located. The room is quite small but perfect for 2 nights. The soundproofed windows did not penetrate the car — nor the train — and tram noises. The breakfast buffet was very good, the staff very friendly.

Maybe a little overestimation, after France is a pleasure. Clean, cozy, great breakfast. There is no parking near the hotel but it is not a problem, there are parking lots nearby.

Positive: Location very good negative: — dirty, familiar rooms (everywhere stains on the wall, mildew in the bathroom) — heating did not work properly, in the bathroom red light lamp for heating (? )
— Very unfriendly reception staff (except a young man), do not come to the counter, not willing to solve problems (breakfast would be charged although I did not have breakfast, the hotel grounds: it would have been breakfast there, I would have only) — Car parking is overpriced (€18 a day), V. A. Because there are no hotel parking spaces, but the station's underground garage I will definitely not stay here again, V. A. Because the value for money does not fit at all.

Very well located Hotel and when you stay here they give you a Ticket so you can use it on all the trams or buses in the city, although as everything is close there is not much need. Clean and tidy rooms, but on very well soundproofed with respect to the outside, you won't hear anything from the train station. Recommended.

The hotel offers a solid friendly service. The rooms are clean and attractively furnished. Everything important is available and cleaned. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly rich and the coffee was good. I can only recommend the intercity for short stays and trips. Of course, the central location and the free local transport ticket are a special plus.

Many of the rooms are not air conditioned, they are small and quite old. It is close to downtown but stuck to the train station so there is a lot of noise from trains and people at night.

The staff were pretty friendly & spoke English (which helped bring from the U. S. ). The rooms were nice with air conditioning when it was a bit warm. Rooms were also pretty nice! The location of being right next to the train station was absolutely great too especially for catching the ICE train! P. S. If you catching the ICE train going to Berlin, Mannheim, or Frankfurt I HIGHLY recommend you make an online seat reservation! This was one of the busiest trains we were on ever. We had to stand for part of our trip.

Spending two nights and the locstion is great Directly beside the Frieburg hbf and a short walk to the alstadt. Room was quite ready when we arrived at 3:30. But the attendants held our luggage so we could explore without our heavy luggage. The room is decent and clean. The bathroom fan is on a timer with a red light… Which is a bit odd but seems to work well enough.

I was extremely disappointed with the service at the Hotel. I booked through Expedia and through some glitch (e. G. Web page reloading or something else), I booked the wrong date, which was 3 days after of my actual stay. Although I understand that it was my mistake, the staff was completely inflexible and non-helpful in the matter. Even though there were still rooms available at actual arrival and still plenty of time to resell the old booking, they were not willing to simply move the booking. No refund was issued and the only thing they offered was to pay anew with a heft price without refunding the original booking. I'm sure they sold the room again. They would not let me directly speak to a manager and just told me, these are the rules, its all written on the web page, we can't help. I know all this, but it would be nice if there would be still some room to accommodate mistakes, which can happen when you book through the internet. However, nope, no conciliatory attitude in this place.

Great hotel adjacent to the train station. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. They have some cute jewelry items in the hotel lobby, for purchase. Compact rooms but great for European standards.

The authenticity which man/I associate with the name Intercity and the railway is one of the best highlights. You must not forgo this unmistakable stench of urine which you know from the railway toilets, vandalism damage which cannot be removed and mottled upholstery. To achieve an additional factor of disgust, it has decided to save money for the building and the architect, which is reflected in black mold in every bathroom.
After the first complaint, which the staff could not understand the next room on level 1 was not so spotty and sprayed the bathroom mirror with graffiti. However, the shower was anything but clean here and the shadow gap on the ceiling full of mold!
In the second complaint, the hotel was booked and no other rooms available.
The rooms can be booked throughout the year and even in summer you must don't worry, finding little sleep from heat.
The lack of ventilation, not to mention air conditioning is covered by the loud train noise and bawling antisocial (which finally found at every station on a major city). Distracted by the heat they can so easily to swear in the sleep and look forward to breakfast.
Here, too, scores the InterCity Hotel and shines to the fullest… NOT!
The breakfast buffet is manageable and with manageable I mean 0815. The arrangement of the dishes is not also like in other hotels in chronological order but at random.

The Hotel is directly located at the main Station and close to the city. The rooms could benefit from some Renovation activities.

It is so convenient. Just next to the train station. Free Wi-Fi and connects well up to the rooms.

Loved this hotel! It was super easy to get to (we walked off the train and said: "Found it! "). Staff at desk was helpful, spoke English (but let me practice my German). Not overly expensive for what we got. Bathroom was clean, bed comfortable. We didn't have AC, but AC is available for a small fee. Views are amazing of the mountains and city. Free Wi-Fi in hotel. Friendly staff — always asking if things were good. Mini bar in the room (we used it as a fridge). When you check in, you get a pass for all the public transportation! Altstadt, Munster, and almost everything is within walking distance, but during the rain, it was nice to be able to hop on the trains. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Freiburg.
