Golden Fleece

Absolutely amazing view, lovely room design, very comfortable beds and sheets.
We paid 540 GEL in the beginning of January for two nights for the most "luxurious" room. The restaurant does not operate. "Breakfast available" is advertised but not available, no other food than crackers at the reception. Given the remote location and the fact that we did not arrive by car, that is unacceptable. The staff recommended us nearby fast food / local food restaurant to order from, about 15 minutes walk by the very busy highway…
No coffee or tea is provided in the rooms, only empty kettles, sugar and cups. They gave us 2 bags of tea and told us that if we want anything, we should buy that.
The windows are poorly sealed and let in a lot of cold air.
The rooms are cold. In the smaller room, the air conditioning is extremely loud (if on = no sleep) ; in the larger room, it is not powerful enough to heat the space, so you need an extra electronic heater. So either one person doesn't sleep or the other one wakes up to the cold room.
The smaller bathroom (and the whole room) smells strongly of sewage, and we were told this is "ok. " There is also mold there.
On the second day, there was still no running water till 12:00, then at night when serve at hotel was locked and we couldn't get in. Bell didn't work so we had to wait in freezing cold till somebody comes to open. When we got to the rooms — no hot water, only freezing water. They fixed that next day at 11:00 (1h before our check-out).

It was good stay, and they provided kettles and cups, but no water or tea/coffee powders, that's the basic stuff to be provided, I think they charge extra for it.

The view was absolutely amazing. Room was cosy & spacious.

The room was ok. They have mugs and kettle if you want to make tea or coffee but they charge you extra to give you a sachet of instant coffee or tea …
The breakfast was very poor and started at 10 the receptionist doesn't speak English.

The absolute best, kindest, warmest and fantastic experience ever. 10/10 will ALWAYS come here. Jana and her team are the absolute best there is. I really mean it and appreciate everything they did to make our stay amazing.

Liked the interior and view. Their restaurant has really good food and good prices.
The manager, I think was little bit of rude at first but he made it up. Breakfast was poor. I was expecting more for this price.

We arrived without booking. There were only economic class rooms that have view on the highway. The lux rooms have beautiful view on the river and mountains. There are no markets around and you cannot walk around.
I'm sure the service here is good, but we could not check.

I had a wonderful stay at The Golden Fleece in Georgia and was truly impressed by the warm and professional service, particularly from Maxime, who speaks Georgian fluently as well as Russian, German, and a good deal of English – a real asset for international guests. The hotel is located approximately 4 km from Mtskheta and is easily accessible by Yandex taxi for around 8 GEL, and from Tbilisi-Isani (Marshroutka station) for about 25 Gel.
The restaurant is very popular with both locals and visitors, and I was fortunate enough to experience a traditional Supra (Georgian banquet), during which two talented singers performed stunning polyphonic songs – an unforgettable cultural highlight. Dining outdoors on the terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Aragvi River and the historic Mtskheta Monastery in the distance.
The rooms at The Golden Fleece offer a delightful view over the surrounding landscape from the balcony, which is certainly one of the highlights of the stay. That said, the rooms themselves are quite small, and lack built-in wardrobes or sufficient storage space for longer stays. Additionally, some of the walls would benefit from a fresh coat of paint.
With a few minor improvements such as these, the hotel could easily deserve an additional star.

The hotel was stunning, spotlessly clean, with a view unlike anything I’ve seen in a hotel before. The entire staff was extremely helpful, available 24/7 for anything you needed. Everything was wonderful.
The only thing it lacked — and it was quite necessary (though I’m not sure if other rooms had it and just ours didn’t) — was a small fridge, as well as a space to hang your clothes (like a wardrobe).
Still, I’m giving it top marks because everything else was flawless.

The hotel is separated from the restaurant but they are both in the same building.
As for the hotel, they kept playing songs all night at the restaurant and the hotel is just above it, so you cannot sleep (the sound insulation is so poor to the point where you think you are setting inside the restaurant). The restaurant closes at 12 midnight, so basically you can only sleep at that time.
The rooms are adequate but there are a lot of flies, so you cannot stay at the hotel if you are afraid of flies.
If you are planning to go to the restaurant, make sure that you do not order anything that has beef in it as it is very chew and impossible to eat (I had to change my order but I still paid for the beef).
To sum up, do not come to this hotel.

We were really happy to have found this place! It's right by the motorway, but we did not hear anything (make sure you have the side to the river). The view was AMAZING. The breakfast was very creative and much more than we could eat. The restaurant is directly below so it was perfect for just a stopover. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, the bathroom apparently new… We would have paid double the price and would still have been happy!

This is an amazing hotel located on highway, the view from here is amazing, however, but. Don’t not stay here if you don’t have a rent a car or your own car!
You will spend a lot more in taxi, better you take a hotel near Jvari Monastery, so you can go around.
There is a small supermarket kind of thing across the road, get water and all things you need, as even the water was not available at this hotel.
Near this hotel there is nothing, breakfast at the restaurant starts at 12:00 🙈😂.
Hotel staff don’t know English, at least the old uncle and due to the same they won’t be able to guide you for anything, you will be on your own.
Download Bolt, also if you are planning to leave early morning, book your bolt in advance, because this place taxi is not available all the time.
However despite all this, I enjoyed my stay there.

Located right off the highway… look at the location on the map. Don't follow GPS or it will lead you to the wrong side of the river. This hotel is only a few dozen meters from the main road.
Also, I read several bad reviews and expected the worst, but my experience was only positive. Clean room, and we were shown options before agreeing to our room. The reception spoke English as well as restaurant staff, which has excellent food.
The negatives were the loud karaoke music until 10pm from the restaurant, the in-floor heat made the room just a little too warm for my taste, and no breakfast. In fact, the restaurant did not open until 11. Oh, and there was a barking dog on the other side of the river some time during the night which woke me up. But unlike another reviewer noted, I did not hear or notice any vampires during the night! :) ) )
Summer would be better here as the location, hotel, restaurant and grounds are very beautiful and spending time outside in the evenings could be very enjoyable in warm weather here.

This place is very different and specific. We absolutely loved it. The room was amazing, clean and views are beautiful.
We were welcomed by super friendly and cute dog.
The restaurant, the food they prepared was superb.

We recommend the place from many reasons. Very nice view to the valley, very good chinkali and chicken czkmeruli, affordable prices and nice service. We did not expect it to be so good but it was the nicest hotel during our trip!
