Camping Sitaba Lodge in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Camping Sitaba Lodge located, and what is nearby?

The campsite is located in a very beautiful and peaceful setting right on the riverbank, away from the town; however, the town center is just a 10-minute walk away. Guests highlight the relaxing atmosphere and the opportunity to observe wildlife, including monkeys and hippos. Boat trips for viewing crocodiles and chimpanzees can be arranged nearby.

How polite is the staff, and how are guests' issues handled?

Opinions about the staff are divided. Many guests describe the staff and the owner (Cho) as very hospitable, kind, and attentive, noting that they go out of their way to ensure visitors' comfort. However, there are some extremely negative reviews: one guest called the owner dishonest, while another complained about poor service when a broken fan in their room was blamed on the guest.

What dining options are offered at Camping Sitaba Lodge?

Guests speak highly of the cuisine, describing the African food as excellent and delicious. A quality breakfast and cold beer at the bar are also mentioned. The campsite features a shared kitchen area and a dining room, which, at the time of some reviews, was partially under construction.

Is the Wi-Fi at the campsite reliable?

There are serious issues with the internet connection. One guest reported that the Wi-Fi did not work despite repeated assurances from the staff that service would be restored soon, which was a major inconvenience for those needing internet for work. Another guest mentioned having to use their own mobile data.

What is the condition of the rooms, beds, and furniture?

Reviews regarding the rooms are mixed. Some guests describe them as spacious, clean, modern, and featuring comfortable beds. However, others report serious issues, such as a broken bed leg that caused the bed to tilt, and even bed bugs. It is also noted that the furniture in some rooms can be very basic.

How do the ventilation and air conditioning systems in the rooms function?

The cooling system is unreliable. Guests complain that the fans in the rooms are too small, making the rooms hot. Furthermore, the fans often turn off at night and cannot be restarted without staff assistance. One guest noted that the fan was switched off at 5 a.m., despite their requests due to health concerns.

What is the condition of the plumbing and water availability?

Reviews highlight major issues with plumbing and sanitary facilities. Guests reported brown, foul-smelling tap water and weak toilet flushing. A power outage due to a generator breakdown was also mentioned; once turned back on, the generator ran very noisily and was located too close to the accommodations.

Does the campsite offer bicycle rental and tour organization?

Yes, Camping Sitaba Lodge offers excellent bicycle rentals and assistance with organizing various trips and tours for guests.

I have NOT given any permission to take pictures of me or publish them. Also I used my own internet. I also take room with fan because my health problems. 5:00 am they off my fan. I don't know, but usually when I get room with fan, fan is workin all night. Very good breakfast: I buy myself one beer Also not very good customer service: fan problem was my fault. I recommend to avoid this place.
