A warm welcome, comfortable rooms, friendly breakfasts, well located in relation to the basilica. We will return to that. Thank you for welcoming us with our dog.

During our trip through Normandy my three friends and I stayed one night at the Terrasse Hotel in Lisieux. We had just come from Mont St Michel and were on our way through Pay d'Auge to the coast line. Our stopover at the Terrasse Hotel couldn't have been worse. Never in my life have I been so humiliated and ashamed. We had a really nice evening in a bar in Lisieux, had some drinks, delicious food and good talks. When we arrived at the hotel by midnight we had a last cigarette — of course outside. The hotel owners (one Madam, one younger woman and a younger man) seemed to wait for our returning in the dark inside – which was the first strange thing. They opened the door, called us inside and began a discussion with us at the reception, instead of letting us to our rooms. Apparently the Madam has got a massive problem with smokers and also with having a drink. She was unsure, if she could let us into our rooms because she feared that we could smoke in the rooms. This fear was without any reason. We were not sure, what else the Madam feared because our French is bad and the hotel owners were not able to speak English. All we wanted that evening was falling asleep because we needed to get up early the next day. But the Madam would not let us into our rooms. She than forced us to pay the rooms, although beforehand we agreed on paying after the night. I don't have a problem by paying before — but it shouldn't be in the middle of the night.

What to say… Reception pretty cold by the landlady dressed as in ' 40 and not seeming very fresh on it.
Room very old without any comfort, heating impossible to adjust, soundproofing void and no respect of the rules of the lodging. (Wi-Fi impossible to pick up, no hair dryer, no small intention as water bottle or soluble coffee…).
RESTAURANT It is like in a canteen, pleasant service by an apprentice smiling but always houspiller by the boss in public, as for the food, basic from basic (canteen), no respect for the arrival of the customers (first served the accustomed), no ethics of the boss or hygiene rules (she came in the room with raw meat to show us her quality! )

I do not know common, such an establishment does it to stay open?! It is not to be disadvised, it is simply to flee!

Very good setting very Quiche but excellent meal.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Friendly staff. They sat and served our family of 7 with young children and no reservation. We had a wonderful experience.

Excellent cuisine. The dishes are fresh. We spent Christmas here and we have eaten very well. Good luck.

Nice rooms, understaffed, fairly expensive, outskirts of town though nearer train station.

Good location, nice food, nice room.

I went to lunch because a menu 13, €80 and it was very good prepared at the minute, homemade soup Kudos to the boss who was alone to serve a dozen seats and who did his best to satisfy everyone with a smile!

Level kitchen it was fine, despite a very classic breakfast… The staff is friendly. Rooms: blah blah…
