Maison Pic

We booked a one night stay here on our travels through France, it being on the bucket list for some time. The hotel is beautiful, quirky spaces and the hotel reception staff were great. We spent the afternoon by the beautiful secluded pool. We stayed in room 5 which was a garden suite and it was huge. Beautiful room with a balcony and huge bathroom. The service just wasn’t there. We arrived at 2:30 and asked if we could grab some lunch in the restaurant which was casual dining restaurant. We were advised that we could only have cheese as service had finished, although it was clear that it hasn’t and starters and mains were still being served.
We struggled to get a drink by the pool as there were no staff in the pool bar or main bar area and I had to walk to reception in my swimwear to order a coffee. Unfortunately dinner service felt the same. We were unattended in the bar pre dinner for quite a while and in the Andre restaurant the service wasn’t great, having to pour our own drinks, and whilst the food was nice at one point the wine waiter took away an empty glass, not asking if we’d like another drink which left us empty for a while due to lack of attention. Not what we expected here. When the waitress served the hake dish it came with a sauce and she said ‘here is the hake with a sauce I can’t remember! ’
We ordered breakfast in our room which we could have on the terrace which was fab.

Fantastic hotel and world class restaurant. The service was great, everyone was very attentive. Rooms were very clean and modern but still had charm. Beautiful balcony and great lounge for sitting.
The attached Michelin restaurant was unbelievable. Chef Pic came out several times to make sure people were happy, and they all were. Run time on dinner was almost 5 hours, so plan to settle in, but plenty of food to keep you satiated.
Location is about 15 minute walking distance to the city center, and hotel is on a somewhat busy street. Some construction outside added a bit to the chaos and noise as well, but not too overwhelming.

What can we say? This is a very high end hotel yet not pretentious. Staff have a sixth sense of what you need and when you need it. EG car parked for you, luggage taken to room. Amazing courtyard bistro with water vapour jets to cool you down. Excellent facilities, including garden with cool pool. Excellent food. Bedrooms very well appointed and comfortable. Every Michelin guide from 1900 to present on display.
Would love to return!

Having wanted to visit the restaurant Pic in Valence for many years we finally made it this summer. We stayed for just one night in the hotel and we ate in the gastronomic restaurant. The experience was truly exceptional, from the moment we arrived to our departure. Our room was upgraded but this was not mentioned by the reception on our arrival, although I did of course realise when I saw the spacious room with outside seating area /terrace and beautiful marble bathtub (as well as standalone shower). Everything inside and outside the hotel is perfectly maintained and all members of staff go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a wonderful time. We expected the food in the 3 star restaurant to be amazing and it genuinely exceeded our expectations. The chef and her team manage to create exquisite masterpieces with (mostly) relatively simple ingredients. Although a huge amount of thought clearly goes into the presentation of each dish, there is no question of style taking precedence over substance. My allergies and food preferences were accounted for with no fuss, every morsel of food was bursting with flavour, the wine pairing was excellent, all local wines as we wished, each one pairing perfectly with the dish it accompanied. The relatively young team worked seamlessly together and managed to balance an extremely efficient service with a genuine and friendly interest in their guests.

We've been long time fans of Anne Sophie Pic, made plans to visit her hotel and flagship restaurant a year in advance. We were happy our expectations were exceeded.
Planning the trip and making on property reservations via email directly with the hotel was seamless. Service upon our arrival was polite and professional. Our car was promptly parked, checking in was a breeze as we were led to a well manicured garden for some snacks and a drink before presented with our room. Our room was exactly what we wanted, quiet, well appointed with bath amenities, coffee/tea along with complimentary snacks, water and soda/lemonade etc. It was also a very nice touch for the staff to leave us a handwritten note welcoming us to the property and wishing us a Happy 15th Anniversary.
We appreciated how each day the bell desk would leave some candy and water in our car prior to our day trip. We also appreciated how helpful the front desk were in recommending to us nearby villages, shops and restaurants/cafes to visit as well.
Our dining experience at Anne Sophie Pic restaurant was the absolute highlight of our entire stay. Classy dining room, knowledgeable professional staff, coupled with a delightful tasting menu sent our taste buds for an amazing culinary experience. The expression of each dish was thoughtfully crafted, artistically presented and tasted unforgettable.
All in all, a memorable anniversary trip for us, thank you for making our visit such a special one.

We had a lovely experience with attentive hotel.
Staff, however, we sat for over an hour in Sophie le Pic before any food was served. We were poured a corked wine on the tasting menu.
To assure king beds, we booked suites for the night. The experience with hotel and restaurant for four of us cost close to $5, 000…in retrospect, not certain the experience warranted that price.

This hotel and restaurant comes as close to perfection as possible can. The staff welcomed us and checked us in efficiently where we were first offered a welcome drink in the garden and then brought up to our room. The entire hotel is a relaxing oasis; whether it is the pool, the well maintained garden, the restaurant, the rooms or the beautiful bar. We had dinner in the gourmet restaurant and every dish was delicious and put together with local products combined with international flavours. As I do not drink alcohol I particularly loved the non alcoholic pairing that was served with the menu. There is so much attention to detail in both the hotel and the restaurant that once you enter you never want to leave.

You get what to expect from such a place and even more. The dinner was perfect from start to end. All are food likes and dislikes were perfectly taken into account and the special dishes were all over the top. No spoilers, no pictures, because high cuisine is best served by professional photographers.
The hotel was great too. Spacious room, with terrace and view on the kitchen and patisserie kitchen.
Breakfast was the only thing that was not up my expectations, there is way too much food presented on the table and it feels bad too leave with so much leftovers.
Location is a little surprising but it is historical, and anyway, you don’t go there for this, you there for Anne-Sophie Pic stunning food.

The best culinary experience of my life. As a pastry chef I have eaten in many of the finest restaurants. Maison Pic was exemplary and every detail was impeccable. We had the pleasure of meeting Anne Sophie Pic and it was the most memorable evening. Thank you.

We stayed at the hotel and dined at the Bistro Andre's as the main Michelin 3 star restaurant was closed on Sundays. Both experiences were outstanding. Arriving in a light rain in our car, within seconds we were met at the front entrance without notifying anyone. Our numerous luggage pieces were taken and we were escorted to the reception check-in area and greeted by a very kind and friendly staff. They took care of the car in the hotels private and protected garage facility, while our bags were being delivered to the room. We were invited into the beautiful lounge area for a very delicious non-alcohol "welcome drink", which is a somewhat rare experience, even at any previous 5 star hotel we have been to. Was a wonderful reception following a 4 hour drive from Zurich.
The Bistro is obviously very popular with the local residents, which was a good signal for a rainy Sunday night in early April.
The staff were very friendly, efficient and suggested both a great white and red wine (by the glass). We then experienced one of their specialties, a slow cooked lamb that practically melted in our mouth. Certainly, the most delicious lamb we have ever tasted anywhere and followed it with a excellent dessert.
There is only one suite, with a private elevator, which can be highly recommended over a room for a very spacious feeling.

Overall, we will look forward to return to Maison Pic any time in the vicinity of Valence, France.

I broke my toe in your bathroom. There are door stops sticking out from the floor exactly where a person walks — usually in bare feet in a bathroom and it’s almost impossible not to trip (as I did) on these hazards. The hotel in general lacks atmosphere and the set-up for breakfast does not work. It’s a joke. The lighting is all wrong especially in bistro Andre. Overhead bright lights are never a good idea. Our room was billed as superior but it was a peculiar layout and not at all user friendly. No useful shaving/make-up mirror was available.
I felt as though the building was never meant to be a hotel it just doesn’t work — we couldn’t sit in the garden because of the over powering smell of sewage. I’m afraid I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

Unbelievable food. 3 Star Michelin Resturant. Epic food, service. Incredible service. Beautiful place.

A most wonderful hotel, very quiet, with bedrooms overlooking a beautifully designed garden at the rear of the main house. The Front of House staff are truly amazing, very welcoming and caring. Even the voiturier, when you when first arrive, seems to genuinely care about you. Nothing is too much trouble and one feels nurtured all the time. The bedroom, with a little balcony, was very peaceful and had a large and luxurious bathroom. The breakfast is served in the bar area. You dont have to have a full continental or american breakfast instead you can order whatever you wish. The town centre is about 15 minutes walk away.
The only downside is the rather disappointing bistrot, Andre, with an uninspiring menu and poor atmosphere. Such a shame in an otherwise exceptional hotel that you just long to go back to.

The hotel is just great! Excelent Experience. Lovely decoration, fantastic room and beds. Only missing thing was bigger windows, a bit more natural light. Excelent food at the Andre`s, we loved it.
Would be great having the chance to visit Maison Pic again.

Exceptional service and outstanding cuisine—a flawless pairing. From the gracious valet parking to the meticulously appointed room, impeccable service permeated every moment. The dinner experience at Andre Bistro was exquisite, complemented by a wonderful bar and a superb breakfast. The check-out process was notably attentive, culminating in a departure where our car awaited at the door, with water and sweets for the journey home.

From start to finish — from booking, to post-departure, everything flowed perfectly at Maison Pic. Their incredible team looked after everything — waiting for us on the side of the road when we arrived, giving us a tour of the wine cellar, guiding us through the most amazing food experience I think we've done (close call! ) and then right through to our wonderful breakfast. We will certainly return — and eagerly await their opening in Dubai!

Cheffe Pic and her team presented course after course of surprising and magnificent flavors, scents, and visual masterpieces. This meal was an amazing experience. The beverage pairings — not all were alcohol — were generous and well-suited to the courses. Merci, Cheffe!
