Don't trust the photos, the Hotel Excelsior is dated. Key recovered (Yes it's still the key system and not magnetic card or even code…) and on returning to the room it was already occupied. This same mistake is made twice!
The hotel is very clean Not even to put his belongings on the shelves of the wardrobe, she is only closet. The luggage storage is accessible/open to any wind, everyone accesses it and can use it. As for the friendliness it is according to the one who is there: the 1 can be as unsympathetic, unpleasant as the other is friendly and helpful. Hotel to avoid.

Hotel is central and very good connection with the airport with RER. Rooms comfortable, equipped, and comfortable beds. Reception with extensive opening hours, staff friendly and attentive. Will hold your luggage if you need it. Recommended.

It's a nice and cosy place in the heart of Paris. Most of the attractions you can reach by walking. The stuff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and with a charming style. On the ground floor you can find a lovely room for relaxing, reading some magazines or planing your next trips. If you book a pricier room like a suite, the coffee facilities are for free.

It is well located, is an old construction but renovated and with beautiful details.

Wonderful for the price o my problem was out electrical adaptors only fit one of our converters. So I should've asked the front desk for a better one. I ruined one of my hair dryer curlers items. There was a fu my hair dryer I n the. Bathroom. It it was terrible.

It's a great location with walking distance to multiple sites (Notre Dame, Pantheon, catacombs). It is also a couple blocks from RER B so it's easy access to the airport. The room was nice. It was small but beautiful. It was easy to work with the staff. I would recommend if you plan to be out and about for most of your trip.

Really liked this hotel. The A/C was a HUGE relief as we had been staying in other hotels without A/C in the middle of a heat wave. We were in room 304, on the back side of the hotel, since we had asked for a quiet room. When we checked in, the guy at the front desk apologized that the elevator on that side of the hotel was out and offered us a room on the first floor on the front side of the hotel. We decided to go with the quieter room anyway, and the elevator was fixed two days into our stay, so it worked out OK. They were also doing some other work in the hotel, but the work was restricted to waking hours so it wasn't too bothersome. The room was tremendous by Parisian standards and had a bathtub in its large bathroom. We found it to be very comfortable and loved the exposed wooden beams in the ceiling. We didn't have the breakfast but enjoyed the coffee machine in the lobby. The location is great — right between the Cluny metro and Luxembourg RER, and close to the Latin Quarter restaurants on Descartes/Mouffetard behind the Pantheon. We would definitely stay here again if we ever made it back to Paris.

Hotel with excellent location in the Latin quarter. Located just minutes from the Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. The famous and lively Rue Moueffetard as well as the square of the Contrescarpe are very close. The family room is rather spacious and can hold up to 5 people. Breakfast only opens at 07:30 and is of poor quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Yes, the staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but the hotel is next door to a night club! Not exactly a good night's sleep in the centre of Paris. Avoid!

Had a great time staying at this hotel. Location is nearly perfect, with very close access to 2 metro stations. Lobby and rooms are bright and clean, and a 3-person elevator made it easy to get to your room. But most importantly, the Wi-Fi signal was super strong, and the Wi-Fi speed was good too. Room size was about average, maybe a little bigger. Overall, would rate 4.5/5 if it was an option.

Quite place with comfortable small rooms and friendly staff.

The hotel was a very nice hotel not far from Notre Dame, and even with its location we were never once disturbed by any loud noise that happened on the street. The rooms had a lot of culture and provided adequate space for sleep. 4/5 stars.

Nice rooms and bathroom. Great location near the Luxembourg park so ideal for the morning run. Lots of restaurant and bars around. All you need for a short break in Paris.

Staff very friendly, pricey in relation quality.

The rooms is nice. The staff is so helpful. Only one thing is the lift is too small, only fit for 2 people with luggage. There is a good chinese resto right next to the hotel.

I love this hotel and the staff. They are very attentive and the rooms are great and comfortable. And it is such a blessing that they have air conditioning.

They offer a very expensive airport shuttle service, and a direct train to the airport is just steps away. You can't be late at Check out, otherwise they'll go to your room and they won't leave you alone.

Comfortable the large family rooms clean and friendly staff.

The room was lovely and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They speak perfect English as well as other languages. Before we arrived, they offered an extensive list of local restaurants, recommended based on our own criteria. That was a nice touch. It is easily accessible to wheelchair users, more so than many hotels I've stayed in with a separate entrance guiding wheelchair users straight to the lobby. The lift is tiny and the breakfast was quite limited. Other than that, great. And in a fantastic location.

Good location, very centrally located in Paris, you can go out to visit the Latin Quarter, near Notedrame. Simple rooms, has Wifi and Tv.

Very convenient to get to from the airport. Convenient travel to the various attractions of the city. Located within the Latin quarter is very equipped with everything you need to spend a great holiday. Only minus breakfast, a bit pricey, but irrelevant factor because even 50 meters there are at least a couple of places where you can have breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very good service. When were we were renovating some parts of the hotel. Spacious rooms with all expected details. There is an area of the hotel that does not have elevator. In an exceptional location, a 10-minute walk with children from Notre Dame.

I love it! It was summer when I stayed here, and thank goodness for the air-conditioning (half the hotels don't have air-conditioning). The hotel and it's room are nicely decorated, comfortable beds. Appreciated the lovely courtyard, chilled there in the evening. Located in a quiet alley just off a the main shopping street, so it's peaceful at night yet not remote. Quite a few patisseries and restaurants nearby, and within walking distance to some main attractions like a Notre Dame and Luxembourg Palace. On the hind sight though, it's a bit far from the metro stops, especially if you are with luggages. I walked A LOT due to its not too ideal location, but enjoyed the stay overall. On a side note, we had to leave the room key at the reception before going out, well I don't feel very safe because that means maybe anyone could get into our room just by stating the room number. Apparently many other hotels in Paris have such practice as well. Luckily nothing bad happen to us though, Paris is not a very safe city after all.

The room on the top floor slept my wife and I along with our three children beautifully in the two rooms and with two bathrooms! Plus a huge walk in closet for extra stuff, laundry, and the stroller. Most amazing was when I got back to the US I realized I had left my wedding gift wrist watch in the room and I called them. Not only did they have it, but mailed it off to me in a safely wrapped package at their cost. I would certainly stay again when looking to go back to that area of Paris.

I was visiting in Paris alone for four days, the hotel was very central and convenient for those moments of staying there. Great unpretentious and pleasant.
