Very welcoming boss, he gave us lots of information, he lent us bikes.

The bathtub in the shower is very slippery a rubber mat would be nicely come, the ice lets the water pass outside.

Convenient stopover we were lucky to be able to spend a very quiet night in a nice hotel. Our room was very practical and very clean, the curtains secured a good darkening of the window, so you could sleep very well. The staff is very friendly and helpful, we were also lucky to speak German and we didn't need to embarrass ourselves with the local language.
It was also a great value for Money. Big plus: free parking in front or next to the house, 30 minutes on foot on the promenade to the old town with super panoramic VIEW. Always like to get There.

Perfect for a stay in St-Malo with a decent price. A few steps from the beach and the Thalasso. Comfortable rooms. Welcome smiling and attentive.

Nice little hotel. Clean and welcoming room. The staff as well as the owner are friendly. It feels good, I recommend this place which is well placed a few meters from the thermal baths and the pavement of the furrow.

Reception staff (the gentleman with a strabismus) very unpleasant and disrespectful. It has nothing to do in the hotel Business. + extra charge for a baby umbrella bed is 15 euros. The least of the things would be to indicate it on the Site. Very poor.

Booked for 12 days in Aug had to cancel due to a car accident they kindly rebooted for September. On way car broke down costing 3000 pounds. No car hire company would allow us to drive abroad. Hotel didn't want to know even though I wanted to re-book. Total waste of space will never go there. Db.

Nice enough hotel, friendly and helpful manager, room small but clean only thing shower head didn't stay up on riser so had to hold it or lean under it! Also no tea / coffee facilities in room which would be nice to have a cuppa when wake up or when back in hotel after a day out, reception area could do brightening up was a bit dated, breakfast area bright and lovely, continental breakfast good, lots of choice but at 9.95€ could get similar cheaper in nearby cafes, hotel itself close to but not overlooking the vast sandy beaches and about 20/30 minute walk to main old town, beach and many shops, cafes and bars which is ok in sunshine as nice beach walk but not so good in the rain, although bus stop outside hotel, all in all I'd say look for hotels on seafront and a little nearer to centre x nice enough though x.

Each of my visits to the Surcouf is a pleasant moment in a very welcoming environment. The rooms are nice and comfortable with all the facilities of a 3 stars.

I have to stay a few days at this hotel, I had a very good stay. Good location, close to the sea and the old town. Regarding cleanliness, there is nothing to say. For breakfast: complete with products that come mainly from Brittany.

We stayed for 3 days to get there regularly and we are never disappointed. Hotel almost nine current deco environment and the breakfasts are very good. Staff was warm and friendly.

Fruits, dairy products, products premises, cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat, varied breads, and a multitude of varied as good jams.

To go there on a regular basis we appreciate the friendliness, the hotel almost new, the seriousness of the job of the hotelier. And all this at 100 meters from the beach to the furrow and from Intra muros.

Wonderful weekend in St Malo; we booked this hotel with confidence, having stayed there. Always to better accommodate us, reception, tourist tips, breakfasts excellent; one is growing to 150 m from the sea, so really great.

Frankly a great place! Modern rooms and friendly managers. Bonus bonus, it's right next to the beach, so we can go to Saint-Malo intra muros along the beach! Not even need to take the car!
I had a room around €50 in may! Excellent value for money.

My husband and I stayed at the Brit Hotel Le Surcouf in St. Malo 4 Feb, 2013. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel so much, that we re-booked the hotel again for our last night in France. The room we stayed in was very clean and quiet. We had a flat screen TV and was able to pick up both the BBC and USA-Today. The bathroom was wonderfully clean with plenty of fresh towels and heat. What made our stay even more special was the staff. The husband and wife team who manage the hotel are friendly, helpful and gracious. They are both more than happy to assist with directions and recommendations, and they speak English pretty well. We found that the Brit Hotel Le Surcouf is near stores and restaurants, and the walled city is less than a half a mile away. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit St. Malo and look forward to staying there again next year. Belinda White.
