Unpolite receptionist, poor breakfest, nice staf, nice showergel.

The rooms are spacious, large. The air conditioning didn't work all the time of arrival — 7 nights. It was very hot and stuffy, even when it was comfortable outside. It's a nice garden. Cleaning was done through once — good, then bad. Pillowcases, towels were changed every day. The hotel's convenient location.

This is a great hotel located next to the station (but not disturbed by rail traffic) and just and few minutes walk from the town centre. 6 minutes by local train to the TVG station for Paris and the south. Small but lovely rooftop plunge pool. Their family rooms are delightful and very comfortable. Excellent and professional staff.

Turn around! Hyper disappointed this hotel is only worth 3 stars, and still I've known some of the best. Services are not up to scratch. The prices are far too expensive for the little qualities of the hotel. Especially be careful, the photos on the site do not correspond to reality. My junior suite was no more or less than a superior room. Exactly it was a family suite the door to the 2nd room was locked. Which made us disturb the occupants of this 2nd room which was rented. In the bathroom, no bathrobe. It's just shower gel, shampoo and a tiny shoe sponge. Finally you pay very much for the location and a small round pool where the space that can accommodate only 50 people (too little given the capacity of the hotel) is too small with few sunbeds besides I do ask how one holds to 5o people.

Very spacious rooms and located right next to the train station (note local train station not TGV). Not so close to the attractions though, so there is that tradeoff. The air conditioning blew out warm air no matter what the temperature was set to — with outside temperatures up to 37°C this was unbearably hot. Though I notified reception, this wasn't rectified during my (short) stay. The common areas of the hotel were also very warm. The staff are friendly and helpful (a few don't speak English but we always able to find someone that did). Rooms are a little dated (without having a really classic look). Hard to recommend during summer unless the air conditioning is fixed! (Would be 3 or 4 stars if they did)

What can I say? In positive wide open spaces
On the other hand, on 2 leased suites actomy problem (reported at the reception but no one comes. No sockets, stairs that squeak a lot of fridge that cools hard, unusable electric shutters, windows that close hard.
Extremely disappointed for a 4-star establishment. Fortunately there was the price for the last minute booking otherwise there is something to cry about. A good refreshment is required!

Best to avoid. Dysfunctional old hotel with lack of proper plumbing. Water was shut down for two days. Pool (more of a large cold tub) was filthy after being used as a bath by remaining guests who weren't offerred alternative lodging. Smelly rooms. Terrible service, that is if you get any. When we needed to change rooms because of the stench it was like pulling teeth before we were finally offerred the room we originally booked. No offer to assist with moving luggage to the new room. Do it yourself. Reservation was made through booking with no cancellation, no prepayment, yet 100% payment was taken by the hotel before we even arrived… many more issues to list. Avignon is a great place best enjoyed in an alternative accommodation.

The air conditioning didn't work when we arrived, but we weren't notified. We ended up with an extra air conditioner, certainly very efficient, but extremely noisy, so a choice to sleep with heat or noise. The management heard our complaint the next day, we leave our little romantic suite and accept an available room. There, no hangers in the cupboard, a fridge that is unplugged, and the electrical socket detached from the wall. Once again the management hears us and responds with a commercial gesture certainly very appreciated.
However, I remain surprised at the quality of room maintenance for a similar category hotel.

We Were there for three nights. It was close to everything by walking. Even the laundry mat was not very far away so we could do some laundry and continue with their journey is very nice hotel we have no complaints at all.

The entire staff is extremely professional and service focused. They ensure your stay is most enjoyable. The rooms are quaint, clean and very comfortable. The location is conveniently near key Metro and bus lines. Their breakfast is outstanding. The Aiglon will be the destination of our future vacations in Paris.

Amazing Staff. On arrival seeing my pregnant wife did not even raise her personal purse. Very Clean and really nice. No problem with our Labrador. Five minute walk to the old town. Recommended!

The hotel is centrally located (Bahnfsnaehe and immediately in front of the entrance to the historic city centre. The staff is friendly and well trained, the décor appealing and the breakfast is very good.

4 star something fair. At the back past the way you can park for free.

For the Easter holidays, we wanted me and my companion, to regain the tranquility of the Grand Hotel d'Avignon because it is very well placed and the rooms are spacious despite being very kitche (old style). Unfortunately, as soon as we arrived, the staff was not very correct with us.
1. We had expressly requested a room on the ground floor and this request was not taken into account. The response of the receptionist = reservations for certain booking sites are longer to arrive… We booked in January!
2. A young man from the staff to whom we kindly requested a multiple plug in order to connect the TV of the living room + the fridge has clearly screwed us by making us believe that the fridge was not a… That it was a mini bar not cool (smileys that laugh and cry laughing! ). We re-asked him a second time, always very delicately, a multiprise… He ended up bringing it to us by rock and the next day, Oh miracle! The water we had placed there was very cold! … In short, if the staff do not want to work, let him see elsewhere if we are there!
3. The condition of the parking lot with its ceiling frankly disgusting (an old style insulation certainly…
4. The work in front of the window and the bedroom on the second floor, with its long dark and endless corridors a little murky.
Our 4 ND and last visit to the Grand Hotel was that of too! Goodbye to the great hotel for good!

Grand Hotel Avignon is really good hotel. It is very close to Avignon Gotic Building. This hotel is still use an old ornament so sometime we feel scary but interesting. Miss to stay here in the future.

No one really to avoid it is no no very nice staff very unpleasant.

Absolutely not recommended!
On arrival, the elevator was out of service, so we had to take a big detour to our room every time.
€50 deposit per night in cash had to be paid at check in. If we had been told that before, we would have had more cash. Outrageously!
When the neighbouring room was showered, our cold water was completely out of service. Very annoying when you are standing under the shower and only boiling hot water is running! The room was cleaned only at 2pm after the request. Previously there were no fresh towels etc. Ünrigens was sucked at 3 nights not a single time! The cleaning force then broke the toilet so that we could no longer pull off and the janitor had to come.
The beds? Didn't go! We both had back pain.
You have to drink coffee from cardboard cups.
Water boiler with loose contact.
Hair dryer broken.
Four stars are absolutely not justified.
Staff was friendly and partly very rude.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and really well designed with double sliding doors to the bathroom. The beds are superb. In room breakfasts also, with amazing croissant and fresh bread, a variety of fresh fruit, yoghurts and freshly pressed orange juice! Little details however are a little disappointing such as the shower door that doesn't close, no biscuits with the complimentary tea bags, only water in the mini bar. However 24/7 room service. A very pleasant stay. Useful tip: the public parking saint michel is under the hotel.

Very nice hotel, the staff is courteous and pleasant, room service available, bar in the room, outdoor pool, beautiful outdoor terraces adjoining the rooms which are very spacious, king size beds and bedding are comfortable…
Just a little surprised by the decoration a little too "Provençal" and simplistic of the room where we were but overall we spent there me and my husband a pleasant stay.

We booked a suite and it was a two-story room with incredible facilities.

This is the largest and cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, the hotel is located on the outskirts of the old city wall, walking to the attractions of the Old City is very near, there are paid parking, for self-driving is very convenient.

Several problems with this place, so where to begin… we arrived to our "upgraded suite" in the afternoon and it was very hot and stuffy. It was 80 degree weather so we opened the windows to air out the room at first. Next we attempted to turn on the air conditioner to further cool the room, only to later discover it was shut off for the year and couldn't be turned on. We were given fans but were not adequate to cool the suite. Since the windows were open, mosquitoes spread throughout the room. We were bitten by them needless to say. The beds are also old and springy making for a poor nights rest. In the bathroom, the shower head kept falling down and hitting me since and the shower is very small. Overall the rooms are dated, but I imagine this all would have been fine with air conditioning. After explaining this problem thoroughly to the staff at the hotel, we came to find these were decisions made by the owner of the hotel. The staff were very understanding and extremely accommodating, especially Heather who was working at the front desk. They assisted in making new reservations at a hotel very close by that offered AC. We also said they a refund for the second night that we originally had booked. The staff here definitely go above and beyond their duties here. Management should reconsider advertising air conditioning when it isn't always available. In the end, we never received a refund for our stay, so this place deserves one star.

Breakfast is not available during the stay, the family room is large and comfortable, the price is not far from the main attractions.

The air conditioner didn't work in the room there was a bad smell. Changed rooms we got a better room but the last room on the floor Had to walk a long way to the room. They forgot to leave soap etc in the room had to ask all the time. We didn't like the plastic and the paper cups.

Somebody report my room number in the restaurant without checking, receptionist deduct from my deposit. The waiter didn't check room number and how many persons properly. So I have to paid for somebody else, however that is hotel fault!

Great hotel, rooftop pool, small indoor garden, comfortable rooms with a nice shower and a large bed. Breakfast is definitely worth a visit!

Great rate for a large family room. Roof pool is small but good enough to cool down in. Perfect location for town and the train station.

Nice and warm staff, but noisy tourists, especially those from the land of the rising sun, in fact it must never lie down.

Clean hotel right outside the wall is a good location for access to Avignon. Easy parking if you plan to visit other towns in the region.

"Grand" is not much to the Grand Hotel Avignon.
Positive: Location quite good; Rooms quite large; Terrace in front of the room also very nice; German TV channel; quite quiet
Negative: Shower leaking — water running in the bathroom. Sink does not expire; cares; obviously Paper tablecloths at breakfast; the abgeschaelte eggs (disgusting) on a pile; From 6:00 to 6: 30, breakfast room had no hot water; stupid, if you have to be at 7:00 at breakfast, to reach the train. At the reception of shrug. The city tax was still pressed one as compensation
May be not recommended!

I m expecting a moeux plur a 4 star, but it's still a great hotel :).

Rooms are clean and comfortable.
