Very nice rooms compared to price. No air conditioning.

In the middle of Lion's slum. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was a single disaster.
3 bed room on the 5th floor. Dirty, old, disgusting. The beds were a kind of couch with a mattress on it. I advise not to enter the balcony.
The only bright spot was the breakfast, we wouldn't have thought but it was good. And it was also all very clean.
For one night to endure when you are tired.

Negative memory of that night that was already the night too many.
Unpleasant staff, who completely lacks avenance, evil contact (but what do they do in this branch? ).
Let's not talk about the room. At first glance I wanted to turn it around. A bathroom in which I did not dare to take a shower. Carpet in a dismal state throughout the room. The bedding, let's not talk about it, it's better not to rub your bare leg on it.
Hygiene leaves something to be desired, being asthmatic I ended up with an awful asthma attack due to the abandoned carpet and unspeakable dust.
It should also be noted that the beverage dispenser swallowed several coins, I found myself in front of the staff refusing to compensate me, but offering me in passing a lesson in morality in front of the customers telling me that I only had to buy from to drink!

Better to take out a little more money elsewhere, it will avoid the psychiatrist and body disinfection after your stay!

The first time the toilets were clogged and I came back with a Mycosis.
The second time bathroom dirty bed dirty carpet more than dirty very noisy. I should stay one more night, but I'd rather go home and get a two-hour drive.
We are 4 in the hotel to be dissatisfied and the staff is doing absolutely nothing.

Had a great room with balcony, it was very clean and private. Some rooms are small and not air conditioned. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is great for transport to Gare du pardeiu station with tram stop outside the hotel.

Shabby home see really pitiful. Really so-so… Price is expensive regarding the room quality… Clean but very old, not located in a very calm place. Smell not very great, the hotel is quite old. Good for one night if all other hotel are full…

Very good value for money.
If the area is a little gray, the smile and the availability of staff compensates widely.
An antiquated but charming side. On request Express you will find a quiet and comfortable room.

A perfect welcome and the staff was very pleasant throughout my stay. The breakfasts are really fabulous.

Room overlooking a little noisy backyard (indelicate travelers Open window), but collective places (lounge) cosy, hyper well located geographically, comfortable room, and friendly reception staff.

Bien situé, le personnel est serviable. Possibilité d'avoir une place de parking mais plus loin à 400ml de l'hôtel. Moyennant 8€. Environnement bruyant la nuit, car l'isolation n'est pas top. Le p'tit déjeuner de qualité mais à 9, 50€ c'est un peu excessif quand même. Les chambres sont bien. La déco de l'hôtel original.

The morning the reception is great but the evening really bad there no one understands anything at all when we talk to him spacious room but review the cleaning I find hair in the tub hot water slow to arrive should not be in a hurry.
Balcony separated by a small bare iron great if our neighbor is a friend but not great when these unknown street very brouillante.

Very pleasant stay. We had a problem on arrival as we cancelled flight out of Barcelona and we cancelled them booking that night without cost.

Good location Comfortable beds. On the other hand, noisy room especially when your room is under the stairs (5th floor). The decoration is of period. She reminded me of a childhood memory at the pool. See attached photo of hairdryer.

The place is very well placed. People are very friendly! And the rooms are what it takes and it if are very clean. The breakfast is very good and the price is OK…

Good hotel for Dépannè. Not fluent in French and understand the needs of the customer. Avoided for a long stay.

Hôtel correct pour passer une nuit si pas d'autres choix disponibles. Beaucoup de petits restos aux alentours et un carrefour city juste à coté, pratique.

The structure's lack basics: air conditioning isn't just a prerogative of a 3+ star hotels, especially in a hot summer, a hot city, with the rooms facing south-west getting sun for the whole day. Btw, a "quiet" room means anyways a room facing the street. Apart from that, the staff has been very nice and welcoming.

This hotel is a bit old fashion but clean. The walls must be very thin as it is easy to listen conversation next door. The reception is nice and helpful. They are usually not local people but speak French fluently. Rooms are not very large for two people. The TV is normal size 37" with normal channels, no cable. Free Wi-Fi is provided and it works well in the rooms. At least at the 4th floors it works perfectly. The continental breakfast is simple but has everything including croissant, orange juice, bread, mamelades, coffee, tea… etc. Location is a bit dodgy especially at night but seems to be safe. Kebabs restaurants are close. There is a tramway station at 2 minutes walk which is very convenient to go to the train station. City center is at 15 min walk. This place is OK but not great.

Comfortable hotel, downtown, connected by tram line 1, small but comfortable rooms, clean, staff very polite and a buffet, nothing short of perfect, price cheaper than that at 50 euro per person with breakfast … recommended to all-

Do not come here. Hair on the beds, dead bugs, no pillow case, just a sheet wrapped over the bed roll. A layer of grime on everything and a carpet that hasn't been cleaned since the 70's. No no no. Booked for 2 days, lost the money on the cancelation. There was a condom wrapper under the bed.

It is nice and cheap. The people who works here are very nice and kindly.

Hotel Helder is situated near the University neighbourhood of Lyon and adjacent to Part-Dieu and peninsular Lyon as well. Rooms are spacious, impeccably clean and with wonderful bathrooms, truly a great value for the money. One wishes only that the hotel's no-smoking policy were more vigourously enforced as we noted a slight whiff of tobacco in our no-smoking room. But one realises that those who smoke are hardly deterred by anything but a monetary caution.

Hotel very clean, good location, in which I stay regularly when I come to Lyon and this for several years. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast was quite satisfactory. Recommend.

Right hotel, the staff friendly, the room well according to the contract, two things the television should include sports channels and the cleaning staff room is extremely noisy in the early hours.

Not far from the Center City, metro and tram, but not at all isolated from the noise and old rooms! We hear everything from all sides. After the first night I had to request a room change because the mattress was stuck in the middle. They did it without worry and after more trouble with the bed and the new room apart from the noise. Nice staff.
