A very nice decoration, the rooms and bathroom are spacious and well appointed, the bedding very comfortable.
Tram stop nearby, you can visit Lyon without worries.
The welcome is at the top, the staff is very pleasant.

Welcoming the staff, very warm and helpful, clean room, linen that smells good, it is very important to say, the entrance of the hotel is a very original bar restaurant, unlimited breakfast for 8 euro, I loved it and I intend to return to my next visit to Lyon, thank you Salomé and the whole team for your efficiency.

Good welcome, friendly place, nice food. There is just noise from the street, but the hotel has nothing to do with it.

I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. I booked a private room and paid in advance, so the check-in process was very easy — the lovely Lise was always on hand to help and answer any questions. It was easy to find and in a brilliant location, a 5 minute walk to the water's edge. There is a nice-looking bar and the coffee was great, cocktails looked good. Nice remote working environment inside and a terrace outside to sit at before going to explore the city in the morning. Seems like a good place to meet fellow travellers. The room was clean and very comfortable, big bed, big pillows, clean bathroom and nice shower. Just note it was a little loud at night due to being in such a central location, and there are no lifts so it's not ideal for people with large baggage (although Lise helped me with mine) and not open to people who cannot walk up the stairs. Thank you for having me, I will absolutely come again!

A horrible night!
Arrival on a Saturday, a very nice and warm place to have a drink and surely to eat. However now our night was a nightmare, the room next to ours was inhabited by what can be called a bunch of savages. Awakened several times by screams, a lot of noise, I first warned the gentleman of the reception who decides for the first time to go to the room and ask his wildlings to calm down, then at 1am fire alarm triggered because of smoking I come out of the room and I smell of "firecrackers" which obviously come from the next room So I go down again to report it that this is the room next to ours. Rather than put people outside or offer us a new room the people at the hotel decided a second time to ask these people to stop.
In short as much tell you that we did not sleep the night, and the next morning fantastic, just a "we're sorry we are waiting for the people who occupied the room next to yours firm foot" what to say apart mDR
We were so tired that we didn't even want to argue. No breakfast offered, or even a small coffee!
Only a discount proposal if we decided to come next time but in fact how to say we will never come again, the only thing to do was to refund us the night!
In short a shame and surely our worst experience in Lyon!

Nice location! Near the river and one of the more closer hostels from the main train station! Feels clean if not a little tight in the rooms. Friendly staff too!

The hostel in itself is cool but I had one of my worst hostel night because of a snoring guy that was probably not 100% human to make such a noise, and it was really hot. But the staff was super nice.

Great location and price. The staff were friendly, helpful, and bilingual. The beds were comfortable too, but the rooms don't have a lot of ventilation, so I kept the window open most of the time, except when there was too much noise from the bar below. It was overall a comfortable stay, but a few things could have been better, like the fact that there was unemptied trash from the previous guests in the room, one of the toilets had no working lights, and there never seemed to be any soap at the sinks.

Ho36 has potential to be a great hostel, however it currently is lacking in many areas and in all honesty isn't worth the money. Rooms: In the 2 nights we stayed, our room wasn't cleaned (garbage from previous guests was not taken away). The rooms lacked any kind of air flow (no fan or AC) and windows had to be kept open all night which meant the room was full of mosquitoes. Kitchen and bathrooms: there isn't a kitchen area. The 'chillout room' is a space where you can use a kettle or microwave, yet there is no running water so guests are instructed to leave their dishes for a staff member to collect. Again, in the 2 days that was not done. There are 2 showers and two toilets to service 16 people. There was never spare toilet paper and no one appeared to check it regularly. Location: We chose it due to its proximity to the train station. We discussed the neighborhood with other guests and they agreed they didn't feel safe walking alone (even during the day). The staff are friendly enough, but they are bar/restaurant staff and that is their main priority. I wouldn't stay here again.

Really good budget accommodation, great little bar and restaurant, we had a private room and were very happy with our stay. Cool area downstairs for eating and chilling out.

Best Hostel I have ever been to (by Far) … Such great People, especially Tom who´s ''the British man behind the bar'' in the evenings. The Employees there are all very generous and make you feel like at Home. Would reccomend the Hostel to Anybody. You´re doing a great Job guys :)

Tiny portions, we took salmon terrines considered as flat, and we were served two small slices with a puree comma for €13. The cappucino was more like a bad latte with bubbles. Too bad because the place is rather nice!

Family Brunch on a Sunday. It was just perfect: good sweet as salty and at will! Everyone had a feast. Perfect setting and welcome also.

Great place to have a beer and chat. Well-stocked plank at a good price. The atmosphere is friendly and subdued. Perfect if you want to flirt or plan dark designs to invade the world.

Great place nice atmosphere, I only went for drink and it was fine. There's a limited number of draft beer. The prices are totally fine and reasonable.

Great hostel. Has an inviting and social main room, and the dorms are cozy. Breakfast must be payed for but it is worth it.

The rooms are modern, through the looker require smaller size locks. The bathrooms are great, good size. They give you free drink for room reservations that is always a plus. Overall a great experience.

Hip. Great music in the bar/restaurant, the Mac n Cheese was amazing. Accomodation was great as we got moved to a hotel room instead of the hostel. Good quality breakfast.

The single room was devoured with clean and correct taste. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The service is at the smallest care.
However the single rooms are located on the first floor and we were disturbed by the noises on the stairs.

Very open people, beautiful place where to rest and find someone to have conversations. Also the spot is easy to find by walking or by transportation. Thanks so much Julian.

It is a small hostel but well organized and clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. When I return I will stay in it.

The hotel is quite new, not in the center of the city but it is 10 minutes away. On the ground floor they share a very lively bar on weekends at night, full of young people, with the reception of the hotel. We were in a room of 6, with two bunk beds and one king size bed, with enough space. The hotel is very clean, nice decor and staff very attentive and friendly:) Plus, they give you a welcome drink. The only drawbacks: the first floor room on the street is a bit noisy at night as people are concentrating at the entrance to the bar/hotel. Breakfast is in the same bar, it was all very good and very varied, but there were some products that were slow to replenish, so you have to go with the calm:)
Finally, there is a machine to print photos of Instagram free if you put the hashtag of the hotel, very top! We'll be back safe:)

A very pleasant and friendly restaurant bar area. The comfort of the rooms is quite sketchy. Attention, are offered both individual rooms and a concept hostel in shared room, be careful not to be mistaken.

Hostel above a relaxed bar/restaurant. Meals are available all day on the ground floor. Rooms are clean and modern.

The lounge room in the basement is AMAZING. The restaurant is great and the breakfast is worth it (however it is a breadfast buffet with cereal and sometimes pancakes). The employees are all incredibly bilingual and attentive. Only complaint was that our room window was stuck and would not close, in December in Lyon, so it was COOOOOLD. But they provided very comfortable beds and very nice blankets.

I stayed at this hostel, back in June. As any solo backpacker may have experienced some bad travel luck. My worst travel luck all happened in the city Lyon. Despite all my bad luck I'm incredibly thankful for kind, helpful staff for making me feel comfortable. Oliver, the manager will go out of his way to try help! I'd highly recommend to staying here, if you come to Lyon. Oliver, if you are reading this. It's Sarah, the Canadian, who kept loosing her card. Hope you and the ladies are doing well!

Excellent price/quality ratio and good location.
I went to the hostel for price, practically without having seen pictures. Fortunately I was surprised for good: it is well located (8 blocks approx of Bellecour, which are walking quickly), the pieces are comfortable (although I touched a top bunk, right in a corner where there was a lamp and was uncomfortable to get in and out) and staff Super nice.
The main criticism is the number of bathrooms: There are 2 showers and toilets for two pieces of 8 people, ie 16 people.
In addition, the "chilling room" that supposedly includes a kitchen, only has refrigerator and micro-waves, so you can not cook much as you do not have oven and burners.
Lyon is a girl, so with this hostel you'll be fine.

Good. Proper cleanliness.
Only problem… People who sleep in the same room as you and who have no discretion and wake you up at any time…
And the fire alarm that wakes you up in the morning to close this beautiful night…

A mixed opinion on the midday catering. The place is warm, well decorated. The dishes are of medium quality (very little pizza topped, poached egg on mushrooms saturated with vinegar), but the price remains very moderate. A disappointment over the slowness of the service, with a certain palpable disorganization, despite a quite reasonable affluence. Too bad because the team is friendly. Maybe we stumbled upon a bad day.

The staff is very friendly and helpful! The room is new and the bathroom is clean! The price is affordable! Convenient transportation, only a minute walk from the tram stop! And a free drink can be referenced at bar! Just no kitchen and elevator a little buckle apart, the other is very good!

Really good atmosphere, nice rooms, great restaurant. However the breakfast is not worth 6€

Super ambiance, super déco et personnel sympa. J'ai l'impression d'être de nouveau en voyage avec la bonne ambiance d'une auberge de jeunesse, mais juste à côté de chez moi! La nourriture et les boissons sont bonnes, en plus.

Nice hostal, super nice staff but not so helpful about tourism in Lyon. Uncomfortable beds, bad coffee for expensive breakfast.

Wonderful hostel, clean beds and bathroom. Very nice staff. Felt like a hotel pretty much. No AC in the rooms is the only negative. Would recommend to others.

We came to eat one night, little flat nice at least 10, flat-veg also. The setting is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere raised.

Disappointed Scam attention
We slept little, saw that the pane was not working. The manager was notified but did not think to inform us! nor do a discount. We were a group of friends passing on Lyon. 2 days after, an employee of HO36 contacted me to ask me to pay a bill of paint and the replacement of a chandelier! I did not understand, because we had in no case damaged anything! And if this had been the case, we would have assumed the replacement. I must have put the pressure on the phone, but I never received evidence or written as I tried to take child support
To conclude, be Careful to the scam! This small company that seems friendly may not be at all, and "forgets" to draw up an invoice for the stay! attention control!

Really nice place and staff lovely. Drinks and meals are very affordable. The rooms are decorated with taste, just like the bar.

Totally late review, sorry Oliver. Amazing hostel. One of the things that makes any good hostel so great has to be the staff. The staff at this hostel is amazing p. Lyon I had all my worst travellers luck but thanks to Oliver and the girls they made me feel comfortable. Oliver went out of his way to help me in my situations. 100/10 would stay again, just to visit them much love from your friendly Canadian.

The place was great. Better than it looks on the pictures. Clean. They give you a ticket for free drink at arrival. Nice atmosphere. I met nice people there. My experience was great on the overall.

Clean hotel and benefits correct water tower. For a stay where it provides a short stay where you will be mainly outdoors, it is perfect. I recommend.

It's clean, staff is friendly, and there's a place to keep your luggage before you check in and after you leave. Unfortunately, I was expecting to have access to a washing machine and dryer and I was told that they are not yet available. Could I go to a laverie? Yes, but I'm here because I have wet hair and Wi-Fi here. For the money, it's fine.

The hostel is very well. Unfortunately the area is too badly frequented, and there was fear in the evening in the street.

Seasonal and local dishes, variety of choices including vegetarian.
The servers give explanations on the map, are fast and efficient. The cooking and seasoning of the vegetables are perfect and the originality is for the dishes as well as for the decoration: the room is large, the large mirror is beautiful, the international clientele and relaxed, we will return!

C'est un tres joli auberge de jeuness avec du caractere, le dormitoire est tres prope et le staff tres gentil. I really loved the recycle and reuse concept of the architect. The restaurant was cozy and it had nice service.

Very good bar and nice living space for the hospitality industry. The kitchen is very bad and we had problems with slogans with the heating.

I am staying in a eight-bed room and things get tight in the morning when we are all getring ready to go out. By the way, that's the picture of a spider that's less than a meter from me when I'm sleeping. Anyway, when we checked in, the guy told us "here are your cards, breakfast is from 6:30-11". He omitted something important: that breakfast isn't free. It's €6 per day. They kept running out of things and I had to ask time and time again to replenish the breakfast bar. Not the best hostel experience.

Great bar! We've visited this bar with my friends plenty of times since it's opened. It's officially our favorite bar in Lyon. It feels home to us! Great service especially from the guys of the night shift! Even if there's a bunch of people they manage to serve really quickly, paying attention to their clients and with a great smile on their faces!
p. S The only thing that they should do asap is the drink's menu cause there wasn't any.
