Really terrible reception service. We had to roam around the city with our baby and luggages because they were not managing correctly their reserved drop off parking in front of hotel. Same thing with the elevator blocked by people somehow moving bicycles from floor to floor. Reception told us that it was not their fault if a client is blocking their parking space. Shocking. Room with steps not baby pram friendly and way too hot even with AC. For a stress free experience at Bayonne avoid this hotel.

Ideally located in Bayonne city centre, the hotel offers access to the entire centre on foot. Note that there is no parking and it is extremely difficult to find a non-paying place.
As for the room, the comfort of the bedding is at the appointment, the breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. The hotel does not offer food in the evening but allows you to have sushi/pizza delivered to your room if you don't want to go out.
In the room itself I found it a pity that there were no two bedsides and two power outlets on either side of the bed.
In the renovated bathroom, it is amazing to leave the protruding tile stop at the entrance without no door to protect, there is no tablet in the shower to drop his personal belongings, the sink is rather small and the mirror above is downright ridiculous. The toilet doesn't have its own cleaning brush, we found it very annoying.
Beyond that, the setting of the hotel is very beautiful, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of these small changes especially given the price of the night, compared to other mercury hotels located in the city center.

Nothing missing in this hotel — it's very clean, well ventilated, air conditioning, polite staff. Location is right in heart of Bayonne — feels very safe. Excellent internet connection. I've been very satisfied with my stay.

Location is great, building is old but renovation work done perfectly. Mercure standards are there.

Efficient air conditioning, extra wide bed and we found the little extras we expected to have in this hotel chain. Breakfasts a bit expensive but absolutely complete and delicious. Very interesting price at this season.
We were two couples we recommend this hotel for its amenities and its isolation which allowed us to have a great rest.

A wonderful high-end hotel in the middle of this historic and picturesque city. We were lucky enough to have a room on the top floor with views overlooking the cathedral which was quite stunning. Excellent facilities and very friendly staff.

I stayed here in May. I didn't enjoy this stay at all. My night was marred by the noise of the room neighbors, not especially noisy but a simple door separated the 2 rooms so non-existent soundproofing, it was as if we shared the same room. In the morning, I was woken up by the construction equipment on the street.
Knowing that I have an Accor loyalty card, I would have appreciated a room better located and better soundproofed.
Besides, the bathroom would really need to be renovated (presence of a bidet! ).
There is also a power socket near the bed to recharge your laptop.
The positives: cleanliness, quality of bedding and breakfast.

Very nice a little dated but I liked the room for handicapped the staff very friendly and sympathetic.

Great location in the city center for this hotel redone recently.

First-rate location, welcoming staff, this hotel located on the site of an old convent offers the charm of the old and modern comforts. The rooms are quiet, especially on the 4th floor. The breakfast room is bright and impeccably held, the breakfast is top!

Nothing to complain about, for my part I have this hotel left me a very good impression, the reception received is great, the staff Nice, the hotel is very well maintained, the one that is not quite young still gives a little more charm to this hotel. The rooms are OK, not too small clean, quiet and comfortable, I kept no noise during the night. The bathroom is also very clean. If I had to have only one remark on the room it would be the lack of a catch next to the bed, but others are available in the room. The breakfast buffet is varied, plentiful and the food is correct. Bread and pastries have fresh air.

This hotel is clean and very comfortable. And breakfast was good!

Excellent welcome, very clean hotel. The spacious and welcoming rooms call for relaxation and rest. The bathrooms are of good proportions and clean. The elevator-style old Paris with its small bench is superb. The breakfast is good. The staff is little care for the customers.

Staying here with a friend overnight. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable and the location perfect. A great place to stay, if a bit expensive for me!

This was our third Time at This hotel. Since the management change I can not say It is as good as It was. We will look for other options in this beutiful village of bayonne. Love the views from the room, that's the only good thing I can say.

Very nice hotel. Quiet, very clean, a subtle mix of modern rooms in an original setting. And additional original touch the old-old elevator increasingly rare. And of course a friendly, helpful and discreet staff.

Lovely centrally located hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of the major sites in town, many restaurants, and the train station. The rooms are fairly large, and there is a nice buffet breakfast available. There is a cage elevator, that is actually pretty large by European standards. Great place to stay, would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent hotel, nicely fitted out and welcoming.
However watch out for the car park and carefully read the instruction sheet re traffic lights. We didn't met a descending car but all worked out ok. Only damage to nerves.

Fantastic hotel — best western le grand hotel is family owned. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffets are a great spread and are a delicious way to start the day. I think it is important to mention that it is in an old building, so some of the rooms are not large. They have what seems to be a very old, but working elevator, which goes from the lobby to the third floor, and is very cool. I should mention that if you open the windows, the outside can get quite loud. This is only an issue if you are in a street facing room. Keeping the windows closed insulates the room from this noise. If you have to keep the window open, I would suggest using earplugs. The rooms and furnishings were very comfortable, and the shower got nice and hot and had plenty of pressure. In my room, which seemed to be and older room (1 bedroom) there was a distinct lack of outlets in the room, but they had a power strip on the desk. The north facing rooms have a great view of the nearby cathedral.

A shame for a 4 stars! Room for 2 people (you can even open black suitcase) reads poor quality, no safe, no fridge, tiny wardrobe. Tiny bathroom, set of anecdotal comfort. A dirty Kettle, a carpet stretched on the ground which dates back to the last century! Only one elevator for the entire hotel surely not at the standards (double doors, close to us who have a wheelchair. )
People with disabilities, go your way! More than dubious not to say dirty clean. Deserves 2 stars max.

I stayed at this hotel for three days. Great location, right in front of Gallerylafayette shops. I also loved my room which was very quiet but a little too big for me (it had two big beds and I was there alone). I strongly recommend this hotel.
