We stayed at this Hotel for one night during our French travels. We were accommodated in a very comfortable room & really enjoyed our stay. The highlight our of our stay, however, was the meal we enjoyed in the Hotel's dining room. The food was delicious & beautifully presented. Every mouthful — a delight. One of our group ordered the escargots (served with a mouth-watering risotto) & said it was the best she had tasted. (We found out later that the new Chef had only been there for a short while. )

To be there right now, it's been an hour that my son waits for his cutlery, he always waits also the cushion under his buttocks because no booster or high chair.
Zero service and outdated staff, after 3 requests for a jug of water I moved.
It's a good thing the food is good.
So conclusion: go there to eat well, but do not go for the service. Pity because for the price (30 euros per adult and 10 euros per child for a fried nuggets. )
4 stars for the meal (adult) and 0 for the service. That's two averages.
In short these customers of the month of August are just grumblers!
It was not the right day to come.

Very disappointed — non-soundproof room — no air conditioning (we were there the night of August 2 to 3, 2018. We just had a fan — no rate in the rooms — and we paid 75 euros just for the room. On the other hand hearty breakfast so no complaints for that.

The hotel is well located on the Dordogne River. There are many interesting places (castle, park, kayaks) and restaurants. Opposite the hotel there is a large paid parking where you can park the car. The hotel itself is not big, quite cozy. The rooms are also small, but with everything they need. Breakfast is not recommended. Slicing and coffee. At night, the hotel closes on the key. Check that your approach to the castle, otherwise you will like us knocking on the closed door 1 am and waiting for a random passerby familiar with the owner) ) Staff are friendly, poorly spoken In English.

They were looking for somewhere to eat, everything in the area was busy, eventually got here. It was the best meal we ate in France! Very tasty and priced — adequately! Bravo!

Restaurant at the top! Fresh products, taste, flavours, for an unbeatable value for money (market menu 17.50). Very nice home. A real discovery. And with a view of the Dordogne in addition.

Very good value for money, willing to accept us for lunch when other places had closed their kitchen. Very friendly service and very original dishes like the nicely presented île flottants aux asperges (savoury).

I only tested the restaurant: Very friendly welcome we are brought as an aperitif a homemade shortbread + pepper mousse (which I would love to have the recipe! )
My dish: Fish of the day Cream pea, red wine sauce, asparagus, delicious risotto croquette! Seasonal, fresh, qualitative and quantitative products!

Good location Clean. At first it gives feeling of older the hallway, but the rooms are nice. Friendly staff. Views and unbeatable area.

A perfect place, with a terrace to the side of the river, to enjoy a good meal. Quality products and good prices. Very helpful and friendly. Recommended.

The restaurant is good the hotel any but we had a crappy bed (springy HS, amazing considering the price of a box spring) as I have never seen it. A horrible night I do not advise.

A delight from start to finish. Great presentation, home, tasting… and a more than reasonable price. Happiness in a beautiful setting. Thank you.

I have not had food here yet, but its a fantastic place for a late afternoon drink just to sit and watch the people and cars go buy. Very popular. Drinks are the usual price you'd expect for such a touristy area.

A good address to enjoy the local cuisine at a reasonable price. The reception is just as successful.

I did not test the hotel but I stopped there for lunch on a Sunday in February, very nice surprise.

Very good location by the river! Easy to find the hotel, clean room, big bath, big balcony! Nice service!

Kitchen very well, menu at 19th unchanged, I opted for the breast, a delight, accompanied by a glass of peycharmant well advised by the server.
Room correct and spacious, ditto for the bathroom, towel dryer that does not work and deserves a replacement, shower hose to replace damaged room 10 (the receptionist m proposed another room, for one night this is not serious), the AC Reversible works very well and the room is really nice.
I will come back with pleasure!

Lunch Menu at 19, €50 very good! Soup, fish and walnut pie. It was very good, fresh and refined.

Menu by 19. €90 very rich, albeit with few options to choose from. Two first, two seconds and two desserts. A dessert was finished and they offered us another option of the letter.
We ate very well and we were greeted by a lovely waitress who went out of her way to understand us in English.
The service was very fast and correct.
Repeat.

The Hotel we did not like it too much. We told them that we wanted a room for a couple with a baby and needed a crib. And they gave us a room of 5 m… The crib and the bed occupied almost the entire room… Besides being too expensive for the services offered.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Du Chateau. The air conditioning and pool we both refreshing — and the drinks and rooms were great. The manager is a woman who is helpful and fun — and I'll stay there again next time!

New Management. Stayed here for the second time, four days each time. The Hotel is perfectly placed close to the carpark overlooking the river and great for touring the area. Riverside dining terrace is really lovely for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our room was recently refurbished and tastefully done. This is one of the few hotels with a bar in the area and its welcome after a long day. Lovely hidden courtyard pool and soon to open a roof top bar overlooking the river, perfect for sundowners! New management have made real improvements to quality and standards. Pleasant staff couldn't be more helpful to us. Great value, great location.

Home in unpleasant terrace; We we send in another room where the reception was non-existent. We spent our way…

Worst experience. The rudest lying staff ever. Made us wait one hour than told us they only had salad. Wtf kind of service. Dont ever ever even yhink of eating here.
