My husband and I along with my disabled son stayed in the restored housekeepers cottage, Maison de la Tour. This was ideal for my son as the ground floor bedroom is easily accessible and has a walk in shower. The kitchen has everything including dishwasher which is a boon. We had access to Wi-Fi and the TV was able to receive UK broadcasts plus a DVD which was great for the evenings. For us the added bonus was a large and very warm swimming pool with steps down which was accessible for my son. There were plenty of pool side seats and a canopied area to chill out in (plus a fridge to keeps drinks cold). This was more or less our own private pool. On occasion there may be a couple of B and B guests staying the night who might use it but generally it was used just by us. The owners, Karen and Robert, have put a lot of effort into restoring the main residence, the Manoir, as well as a Huntsmans Lodge (which has its own exclusive swimming pool). There are very attractive gardens surrounding the house. You could not ask for more helpful hosts who advised us on places to visit. If you have young children there are horses, chickens and three very soppy dogs to look at as well as a play area and walks in their private woodland. Karen will also prepare on request an evening meal on your arrival if you require it, at a modest cost. They grow all their own vegetables and fruit.
We have had a very enjoyable long w/e at La Grange Terrou. The hosts Robert & Karen are so attentive to detail, great company and produce fantastic food. The setting is tranquil and very relaxing. We will definitely be coming back.
