Worst dinner ever my first night in Montignac. I was sent by owners of b&b, (who of course were trying their best, everything closed on a Sunday evening in early May. ) I was only person there. Crass, insincere owner. Soup had chunks of tasteless potatoes/carrots size of knucklebones. Frozen and canned food (escargots, seafood) drowning in pkged bechamel sauce. Old wine on verge of becoming vinegar; he charged me for it, even though he'd grimaced after trying it himself. I've studied wine at Univ of Calif, Berkeley, am a Cali resident since '77, had an upscale catering business in my youth. I own a place in Italy. Asked me "if it was my 1st trip to France. " It was my fifth. Clearly he underestimated my experience in the world of fine food. Even the dessert tart had been previously frozen. The bread was tasteless white, nothing of the fresh baguette. Writing this as a warning to people of higher tastes: you don't need a pool or view when you crave haut cuisine…

Notice left for a long time after the visit because of the fear to get bad opinions, but this establishment does not deserve these 4 stars.

We have a note salt for an unforgettable meal, a soup with chunks of carrots turnips but this soup tasted like water without salt, but not the taste of vegetables, a salad of gizzards entry in a bowl of mesclun had not been washed, pieces of gravel cracked under the tooth, my husband looked at 2 times but yes it was unwashed salad potatoes Sarlat, the Cook will need to review the recipes, the washers were charred, finally a missed meal, we used to spend the weekend, we also recommended this table of the terroir many people because with Ms. Gibertie table and meals were hearty, now we have tested the new direction we will return more and we have advertising of bad food.

Welcoming. Excellent meal. A real tablecloth. Presentation and impeccable service. Very fair prices. The restaurant is isolated. But worth the drive.

2 times was never disappointed question menu, the menu 23 is too much too must be a very big eater.
the gizzard and really good salad and fresh. Attention to the Sarladaise potatoes not often…
