Chambres dHotes Chez Marie in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Chambres dHotes Chez Marie located and what is nearby?

The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, just 100 meters from Domplatz (Cathedral Square). It lies right at the edge of the forest, which ensures peace and quiet in the rooms, even though the property itself is close to a main road. Guests appreciate the pleasant atmosphere and proximity to nature, noting that singing forest birds can be heard in the morning.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, there are plenty of free parking spaces available on site. A secure garage is also provided where guests can store their bicycles overnight.

How polite is the staff and what is the reception experience like?

Guest reviews regarding the staff are mixed. Many describe the owners and team as very sweet, friendly, and accommodating, even highlighting assistance with fixing a flat bicycle tire. However, there are also negative reviews: some guests encountered a cold, "inquisitorial" reception, marked by annoyance and sighing from the hostess, particularly when arriving with dirty bicycles or requesting an early breakfast.

What kind of breakfast is served at Chambres dHotes Chez Marie?

Breakfast is generally rated as tasty and hearty, with a menu that includes baguettes, pastries (viennoiserie), butter, cheese, homemade jams, and eggs. Some guests describe the breakfast as simple yet adequate. At the same time, there are complaints about disorganization, and one guest noted an extremely meager selection where only a single croissant was provided for two people.

Tell us about the hotel's restaurant and the quality of the cuisine.

The on-site restaurant has received many positive reviews, with guests praising the high quality of the food, excellent dinners, and delicious flammkuchen. The venue offers a pleasant ambiance, friendly service, and a beautiful terrace that is particularly charming in the evening.

What condition are the rooms in and how comfortable are they?

The rooms are described as large, spacious, modern, and very clean, featuring fresh renovations and stylish decor. Guests are pleased with the quality of the bedding and the spacious bathrooms. However, one review pointed out the lack of separation between the toilet and the bathroom, as well as inconvenient access to the upper floor.

Is there good soundproofing in the rooms?

Most guests note that the rooms are quiet because they face the forest, making noise from the main road barely audible. The only potential "nuisance" mentioned by a few was the morning bird calls, which many, however, considered to be an added charm.

Is the hotel suitable for cyclists?

The hotel promotes itself as cyclist-friendly, offering secure storage for bicycles in a garage. Nevertheless, one guest mentioned that the hostess was displeased with their dirty bicycles and that storing the gear in the garage was met with visible annoyance from the staff.
