We had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji — Sonaisali Island. The hospitality was truly outstanding from the moment we arrived.
A special thank you to Manager Margaret for her warm welcome and support throughout our stay. Senior staff Eroni and Mere went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. Their kindness and genuine care made all the difference.
It’s a fantastic place for families with kids, offering a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to enjoy. The location is picture-perfect and truly delivers a real Fiji experience.

We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly felt looked after from the moment we arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly and consistently went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
A special thank you to Ase, Jim, Vena, Maggie, Sai, Pramil and Niko each of you that I haven’t nentioned names made a difference with your warm smiles, helpful attitude and genuine care. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and your kindness did not go unnoticed.
A heartfelt mention to the hotel manager, Shanaka, who was so accommodating and welcoming. He ensured everything ran smoothly and made us feel completely at home throughout our stay.
The rooms were really clean and well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable. We went on long walks pretty much every day, enjoying the beautifully kept gardens and peaceful surroundings everything was maintained so nicely.
The farewell song absolutely made our hearts melt. Feeling that love and warmth from the breakfast team along with the beautiful hugs was such a special and emotional way to end our stay.
Exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and a team that truly cares, we can’t wait to return!

We recently stayed at this property and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the overall property is kept beautifully, you can see that care goes into maintaining the grounds.
That said, there is definitely room for improvement. The service was quite slow at times not sure whether that’s just “Fiji time” but it did require a bit of patience. On a few occasions, tables were set up with incorrect or missing cutlery, which should ideally be checked beforehand.
The biggest disappointment was the food. While presentation was fine, the flavours were very bland and could be improved immensely. With some attention to seasoning and variety, the dining experience could match the lovely setting.
Overall, a nice stay with friendly staff and a beautiful property, but improvements in service speed and food quality would make a big difference.

Another wonderful stay! We stayed for a week last year, and enjoyed it so much that we decided it was just what we needed right now, so went back for another week. All I wanted to do was chill by the pool, and that was basically what I did for a week. After a lovely relaxing breakfast we would set up poolside for the day. Reading, swimming and snoozing were the order of the day…. With lunch or snacks that could be ordered from your sun lounge…. Until dinner. There was a different theme for dinner each night, so variety was good. Our room was in the hotel block, we could have had a Bure but preferred the room because it was closer to the pool and restaurant. It was great, and easy access off the verandah straight to where we wanted to go. There are options for activities and tours, but we were content to do none of those. While the resort is great, it’s the staff that makes all the difference. They added so much to our enjoyment of our holiday…. Such warm, friendly, beautiful people. Breakfast and dinner, the service was wonderful. Lovely Samantha was always ready to help, and say hi whenever I was around. Beautiful Sai, and Mere, and my special friend from last year, Aparosa, always happy and helping. Vena remembering and cooking my special omelette just how I liked, the same as last year. And young Niko, who had only just started working there…. So friendly, helpful and committed to giving such good service. And Kesha! What a fun, happy person….

Beautiful resort in Fiji! Incredible pool, grounds, and food! What more can you ask for? A good stay right after or before a flight as it is close to the airport. Also, to get there you have to take a free one-minute ferry provided by the hotel which was very fun.
Two things to note:
— The food was great at the restaurant, however the service was VERY slow.
— This is not a good place to go if you want a beach getaway! The views from the pool and rocks are incredible but there is no picturesque white sand type beach. The beach is a discarded after thought on the side of the resort. No beach chairs, umbrellas, or infrastructure and not good to swim in. It’s definitely more of a pool hotel!

Great resort close to Nadi but it feels very private and special in a somewhat small island feel if you don't want to mission to the outer islands.
The place is very well maintained and the ocean front Bure was incredible and super comfortable, with magic sunset right in front of your balcony!
Also it was my Birthday when we were there and the management left us Birthday wishes and some treats in the room, such a good touch. And all the Staff was very kind and helpful.

I just got home from a 10 night stay here with my husband and mum and we can honestly say we had the best time.
⭐️The staff are amazing, always friendly and greet you like family.
⭐️The room was cleaned daily and the rest of the resort is beautifully maintained.
⭐️The food in the restaurant was fantastic, and most tables have a waterfront view.
⭐️The boat and security staff were very nice and more than happy to assist.
⭐️We highly recommend this place as its great for couples wanting to wind down and relax, and for families with young children. Everything is easily accessible and you can find a private spot if you want it.

Our stay at this resort was truly exceptional—from beginning to end, across every single department.
We opted for the breakfast and dinner buffet package, and the dining experience exceeded all expectations. Each day featured a unique theme, making every meal exciting and memorable. One evening was a meat-themed dinner. As my husband and I are vegetarian, we were momentarily unsure about the options.
That’s when something truly heartwarming happened. Chef Nilesh personally came to us, spoke with genuine care, and asked about our preferences. Within just 15 minutes, he prepared and served us a fresh, delicious vegetarian thali. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about the attention and compassion. The chef and his team ensured that every guest felt satisfied and happy before leaving the dining area.
A heartfelt thank you to Chef Nilesh, Chef Singh, and the entire team for such a thoughtful and unforgettable gesture.
The customer service throughout the resort was outstanding—warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming. A special thank you to Sala and Margaret at the front desk for their calm, cool, and pleasant personalities. When there was an internet service issue, they thoughtfully arranged a separate bungalow for us so we could remain comfortable during the heat. Thank you so much for the care, and our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The spa experience was another highlight—deeply relaxing, professional, and beautifully delivered.

Fist time international travel & I would like to say the staff are so friendly and considerate. Me and my partner felt looked after every step of the way front desk ladies were very kind and polite. The young man who drove us to our room was lovely. The resturuant had delicous food and the servuce was amazing! We also enjoyed Fiji history with Eroni! We were only in Fiji for one night but it was spectacular — we will be coming back again for longer! Thankyou so much for our stay!

The hotel and staff were consistently kind, patient, welcoming, helpful and friendly.
It was an amazing place to celebrate Xmas and the year with our baby and young child.
Xmas was magical at the venue and I could not have done better myself from stockings with treats, Santa and an amazing buffet it was a great day. The decorations at the venue and family orientation were notable.
New years was the same with lots of celebrations and efforts by the hotel and their staff.
I loved the includition of our child in the traditional dancing by the hotel. It really stood out as one of the best events.
The live music, traditional dancing, fire dancing, traditional songs, the beauty of the venue and the variety and quality of the food were stand out.
My kids will be asking to come.
Back for months to come and I cannot wait to go back too.
Staff to note include Eka, Mere, Vena, Anu, Ala, the lovely ladies at the New Zealand ice cream shop and so many more who went over and above to make this such a great trio that my kids honestly did not want to leave. It has raised the bar in what we expect in our travels and venue and as a family of 4… the staff made us feel like we were part of a much larger group and they constantly looked out for us.

I was truly privileged to spend an unforgettable time at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fiji — Sonaisali Island. As someone who's been strictly gluten-free and dairy-free since 2020, finding exceptional accommodations can be a challenge. The resort's pastry chef, Bruce, went above and beyond. His creativity shone through in every custom creation—think gluten-free, dairy-free pastries bursting with tropical flavors like fresh mango and orange marmalade (I've attached a photo to capture the magic! ).
The journey from the US to Fiji is undeniably long, but oh, so rewarding—the moment you arrive, the turquoise waters and swaying palms invite you in. The bure was delightful, with impeccable climate control that kept things perfectly cool amid the humid island breeze, blending luxury with that authentic Fijian escape. I particularly enjoyed the mornings at breakfast, savoring Bruce’s personalized delights, and the serene evenings unwinding on the island, toes in the sand under a starlit sky. This resort is a must for anyone seeking relaxation and thoughtful hospitality!

Great experience with Double Tree. The staff are amazing, extremely hospitable and very accommodating of various requests. They also help with any tour bookings and cab bookings. There are also a lot of activities at the resort, like wood carving demonstrations, cava tasting, target shooting, paintball and other such activities. Food at the restaurant is excellent. And the massages at the spa are also really good. Had a fantastic stay and the staff made us feel very welcome.

We had an amazing stay at the DoubleTree Hotel Resort. The whole place is huge and beautifully set out. When you arrive at the entrance, they transfer you by boat to the main hotel reception, such a unique and fun experience!
Our room was very comfortable, and they also have beautiful private villas for extra privacy. Even when our door lock battery went low, one of the engineers came quickly, fixed it with no fuss, and even refreshed our room again. Everyone here is so hospitable, warm, and genuinely happy to help.
One of the best parts is that when you’re relaxing near the shore, you can simply order food via QR code, and they deliver it right to you. Super convenient!
Overall, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fiji!

Good place to explore Nadi and the surroundings but not a beach spot. Our stay was great but we were expecting a few more activities included in our stay (we couldn't even find the kids club). One more shower and a few more garbage trays nearby the pool would be helpful as well as improving the buggy service. Food was great and the staff was incredibly friendly. A special mention goes to Dass for taking care of us and the kids with horse riding and fresh coconuts!

Overall DoubleTree Resort By Hilton Hotel Fiji — Sonaisali Island is very good & we very much enjoyed our stay! The grounds is well cared for and clean though I wish the whole island was as clean. Staff is excellent at their respective jobs. Life definitely moves slower on the island so remember to relax; there’s no need to hurry. The resort was not at max capacity but we had no problem getting chairs/umbrella, eating at their restaurants (they do prefer reservations at their fanciest one), using the gym, etc. The food overall is good but not great. We definitely didn’t go hungry! Keeping in mind we’re in the middle of the south pacific, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

The Fijian staff are absolutely wonderful — their warmth and friendliness make this place feel like heaven. Truly some of the nicest people I’ve met across five continents. The hotel itself needs a renovation and feels a bit dated, but it’s clean, functional, and fairly priced for what you get. The location is great (about 25 minutes from Nadi and Port Denarau), though the beach isn’t really swimmable. The pool is nice but has limited seating. Food is good and reasonably priced. The guests are a mixed crowd, but the amazing staff make it all worthwhile. Needs an update, yes — but the people make it worth returning.
