A good place to stay with good people. It was located centrally which was great for travelling. However trying to find it can be difficult, especially in 40 degree heat. The breakfast was really nice though and so was the balcony in our room. Unfortunately a hanger, the shower and many utilities kept falling apart. The staff were friendly however we did find on entering after a long days travelling we were immediately approached about booking tours and spending money which we weren't ready for. Otherwise it's a good place for good value. What was also great was the tour we were set up with from there. Ahmed Farag was incredible and extremely interesting. Well worth taking a tour from.

Eco Inn is a lovely little oasis in an unexpected location. It's central — close to the Egyptian museum, the bazaar and the train station, but it's nearly impossible to find because it's not well sign posted from the road and it's down an alley between some shops and up 9 floors. Don't judge it by the lobby though — once you're up it's clean, tidy and furnished well with a good mix of traditional and modern decor. Nearly all the rooms have balconies which are laid with astro turf providing a green respite from the city scape. The breakfast buffet was perfect, not large but had elements of all the continental buffet classics except cereals. The family who own Eco Inn are kind and helpful. Very accommodating too. Kid friendly accommodation. I'd recommend it to travellers on a mid priced budget who want to stay centrally.

One star is for the good location. The second star is because of the cordiality of the family that attends the "hotel".
But I've got good to say.
First, it's very hard to find him. It's on the ninth floor of a building that falls apart in a near-secret hallway. No signage to indicate where to find the hotel. Second, the room very dirty. Booking promotes it as a room with a view and a balcony. It has no balcony or view because the windows are with low and broken curtains, besides being painted and very dirty. Breakfast is hardly open. They serve it on (there yes) a balcony with lots of flies.
Expensive value for what is offered.
