Review of Be Live Collection Canoa 5*

Before you book at Be Live Hotel Canoa read this*** We booked our 4 night 5 day trip through vacation express and for the most part we had a positive experience with the company but I will never again stay at Be Live Hotels. When we first arrived and got to our room, our room was not the cleanest. I wiped down most of the surfaces but my Cleaning wouldn't change the rusted lamp shades, the dinge budget motel curtains, the broken sliding glass door, or the mold growing in the shower. Then upon our first morning my friend became ill. I went to the desk to get medicine for him because nothing was open yet. The front desk was not helpful but gave me the wrong opening time of the only store that had medicine. So my friend was in pain all morning long throwing up. Then the toilet broke and it took 3 hours for someone to come fix it. He then told us to just not flush any toilet paper just to throw it in the trash. That's gross and unsanitary. I then come back to our room door completely off the hinge. It took 3 phone calls and one angry visit to the guest services desk for them to finally send someone up to fix it so we could make our dinner reservations. Then when I woke up the next morning I noticed under the pillow cover was black spots… disgusting. If that's not enough to make you not want to stay there here's more. The staff was rude. Even when we tipped at the bars we still didn't receive good service. The swim up bar was a joke and there was rarely a bartender there. The alcohol portions were a joke, even when you asked for a double. When you went to lunch or breakfast good luck getting a drink. We asked 3 times for a pepsi at lunch and received nothing. The mini fridge in the room had 2 beers 1 pepsi 1 sprite and 1 bottle of water… that's a joke. We visited another resort for a wedding we were attending and it was 200 times better. The staff was friendly, the food was great and you could get food at anytime of day, they served top shelf liquor and they actually served full shots. The rooms were clean and they fully stocked the mini fridges. For only $200 more a person we could have stayed at the Dreams resort and we would highly recommend that over Be Live Hotel Canoa. Don't waste a penny on their hotel even if you get a discount, it won't be worth it.
