Boutique Hotel Danmark

We stayed for 3 nights in January. Hotel was clean with friendly attentive staff.
We didn’t eat in the hotel so don’t know how good the food was. It’s a 10 minute walk from central station and around a 15 minute walk to the main shopping/ canal area which is ideal. Complimentary wine from 5 until 6 pm was excellent as was the complimentary night cay from 10pm. A nice touch from a nice hotel. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately the hotel did not meet our expectations. I think the price does not meet certain standards. The hotel has a good location in the center. However, the rooms are very austere, small. You are not able to put clothes in the closet for 4 days of stay. The bathroom is very cold. In general, I would say that it was a very average room.

If you come by car, this is NOT the hotel for you. We picked it because it was advertised as having on site parking. It has exactly 3 tiny spots next to the hotel through a claustrofobic alley. If they are full you are referred to an automated parking garage half a km down the road, where your car is inaccessible (granted, also for crooks and therefore quite safe) and you pay a fortune! I think we parked for 18hrs all and all and had to pay 175 euro's! Could and should have gotten a more expensive hotel with on site parking.
Feel quite cheated by the way it was advertised.
Hotel itself was fine. Comfy bed, clean, well maintained, nice bathroom, lift for convenience, waterkettle for a cup of tea in the room. They did wine and liquor which was useless for me as a non alcoholdrinker. Location very busy street, loads of noise from traffic day AND night. But quite central, loads to see within a 30 min walk radius.

Great quaint hotel, very close to Tivoli gardens and Radhusplatzen station, easy to get to and use as a base to explore the city, which you can do easily by foot. Service was exceptional and staff very good, polite and helpful. The wine hour (5pm to 6pm) and night cap (10pm to 11pm) was a great draw and something I have never seen at other city hotels. Would certainly recommend and would stay here again.

I really liked that guests could choose their preferred breakfast time. Thanks to this system, there were never any queues, and a free table was always available — even though the breakfast area is quite small. The breakfast selection was good overall, but it would be great to have a bit more hot food, such as porridge or pancakes. The room was cozy, spotless, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and pillows. I especially appreciated the bathroom shelf where I could keep my cosmetics — something many hotels often lack. However, the placement of the makeup mirror was a bit strange. It was fixed to the main mirror and couldn’t be adjusted, and the bathroom lighting was too dim for makeup, with no additional light source available. Location is absolutely wonderful, everything is really close by, Tivoli 5 minutes, Glyptotek 3 minutes etc.
· While the hotel rooms were very clean, the cleanliness of the common areas definitely left something to be desired. The carpets in the hallways weren’t cleaned once during our five-day stay, and it didn’t look like they had been washed in quite some time. The hallways are quite narrow, and the walls and door frames were full of scratches and marks that have clearly built up over the years. Overall, the hotel is good, but upon closer look, you can tell there’s no real “housekeeper” presence — someone who notices the details and truly cares.

Especially if you arrive by train it is perfect to stay here. Its just an about 10 mis walk from the main station an a view steps away from Tivoli. You can reach nearly everything by feet and the area around the hotel is very nice. Unfortunately our bathroom smelled a lot but I guess this is not mandatory ;-)

Just back from a 3 night half term trip with my wife and 11 year old. I have stayed in a lot of Copenhagen hotels due to work and was very impressed with Hotel Danmark.
I choose this hotel due to its close location to Central Station and Tivoli Gardens. Upon arrival the hotel had a really good feel about it, upbeat music in reception and nice “boutiquey” feel. Our room always spacious by Copenhagen standards (they can often be very small) and very quiet.
Nice selection of good quality organic items at breakfast, even if it is a little busy at times.
The hotel also does a nice touch of free wine between 5-6 and also a free “nightcap” between 10-11. I will certainly be putting this hotel top of my list next time I am in Copenhagen.

Perfect location, 24hr bar. The rooms are a little small, but who spends more than sleep time on a room?. The rooftop is wonderful, although the bar had closed for the end of season. Just a last note, the rooms have no A/C but leave the window open and they are comfortable enough. Staff are super friendly and always greet you with a smile, would recommend.

Nice hotel with helpful, friendly staff. Short walk to Tivoli gardens, shops and restaurants. Room was average size. Found sink in room a bit strange and bed frame was odd, making the space feel smaller. Liked the balcony but pillows on bed were too soft. Breakfast was lovely, good selection. Free wine at happy hour and free night cap were an added bonus. Copenhagen is a great place to visit but watch out for all the bikes!

All met our expectations. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were great. Breakfast was fabulous. Plenty of choice and all organic. Room was comfy & airy. Plus the noise was minimal… once the windows was shut you could barely hear the noise of the city outside. We stayed in a Suite and the All inclusive bar was a great bonus. Wine Hour was also very well used by our friends who were staying with us, but not in a Suite. Plus the rooftop bar had great views to enjoy your drinks. Great watching the activities at Tivoli from there. Location was very central and we used a city pass to get around using the metro and buses and was well worth the money.

The hotel is located in a great location, and the people working there are very nice/helpful. The hotel itself is very clean very chic. However, the rooms are incredibly small. I don’t mind staying in a small hotel room, but the price for which they charge for the room is quite high. Same for the breakfast, the breakfast was good, but again, charged way too much.

The Hotel has NO AIR CONDITIONING and must be on one of the noisiest street corners in Europe, so it's impossible to sleep with the windows open. If there is a hint that there might be warm weather when you'll be there, find an alternative hotel either in a quiet location or one which has air conditioning.
The hotel has some very positive points. The simple organic breakfast was delicious, with lovely food and great staff. The internet is fast. The welcome screen on the TV must be one of the the best I've seen. There's a complimentary 'wine hour' in the early evening and a 'nightcap hour' at 10pm. If you're able to close the (triple glazed) bedroom windows, they really do shut-out the noise (but they also cut off all oxygen into the room as there is no other fresh-air supply). The curtains kept the bedroom very dark.
Aside from the feeling of sleeping in an oven, there are other downsides… The beds are as hard as rock. Our reasonably-sized room didn't have a desk, table or similar. The hotel is a combination of two or three buildings, with individual floors across multiple levels. We managed, but for older travelers negotiating the short, steep, steps between levels would be difficult with suitcases, especially as the handrails were either missing or poorly positioned. The carpet outside the lift looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the hotel first opened.
Overall, I don't think we could be persuaded back — even in the winter.

We enjoyed 4 great nights at Hotel Danmark. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Daily wine service and nightcaps were fantastic and a great chance to meet fellow travelers. Breakfast was outstanding, as well as the overall service from the front desk staff. Also enjoyed the rooftop bar and views. Highly recommended option in Copenhagen.

Great location. Staff really friendly. Bar area nice to sit and relax. Hotel room comfortable. Every day they had a free wine hour (5pm) and free liqueur (10pm). Which was nice. However I cannot drink alcohol so did not get the benefit. Perhaps a free drink hour would be better. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on food. No other food is served. Enjoyed our stay would recommend.

We just stayed 5 nights in this hotel and it worked perfectly for us. We arrived in Copenhagen pretty late, close to midnight, it was only a short walk from the train station and we were greeted by a lovely member of staff at the reception. She quickly checked us in, gave us the information we needed and sent us on our way. We were in a small double room, which was compact but enough for us. We were barely in the room so we weren’t bothered about a smaller room. I liked that they had put the sink in the room and gave the room a bigger feeling, rather than a larger bathroom taking up more space. The location of the hotel was perfect, a short walk from so many main attractions. The breakfast was nice, the room itself is pretty small so if you time it bad you could be stood around waiting for a table. It was a pretty chaotic space to be honest. But the food was nice enough and would keep us going for a few hours. The smoothies at breakfast were a highlight for me! They have a wine hour and a nightcap hour, where complimentary wine is served, and then complimentary spirits. We enjoyed both of these, it was a nice little bonus that really made us feel like we were in a luxury hotel, but for a nicer budget.

Hotel Danmark is beautifully situated within easy reach of all the sights. It is immaculately clean and have the most welcoming and charming staff. Happy Hour 5pm-6pm and Night Cap hour from 10pm-11pm was an unexpected delight! Wonderful — wholly organic — breakfast experience. Room was a bit small but such a minor detail in what was a wonderful long weekend.

Following a long drive, then a flight from Gatwick to Copenhagen, I took a train then walked through the drizzle to past the Tivoli Gardens and then the Museum of Copenhagen in a few short minutes. It was there I stumbled on the Hotel Danmark that I'd booked for my business trip on Bookings. Com. I was greeted on arrival by friendly staff and the offer of a complimentary glass of wine at 5pm followed by a band performance. The setting was very modern, clean and the staff were very friendly. The glass of wine was very much welcomed after that game of planes, trains and automobiles, topped off by the delight of an indy band called Bad Birthday. They are an absolute delight as performers, with a rather Bjork-ish sound, and wonderful as people, who I had a fun chat with and got them to sign the LP I bought from them. I never realised just how centrally located this hotel was until taking a right and finding myself in the main City Hall square and high street. I've been here twice before, just barely getting my bearings, but this time it felt so easy and everything was 3-5 minutes walk away. The next morning, I was met by the surprise of a packed breakfast area for good reason. Everything was not just fresh, but I believe entirely organic! From the fruit juice to the eggs to the breads and cheeses, it was all so fresh that my body must have gone into a shock given the exertions from the previous night exploring the town.
