The place looks nice, and I was impressed upon walking in until I made it to the front desk. Service was poor and not welcoming. He seemed annoyed we were there. In the room, the air conditioner woudn’t even turn on. When we called for service, he acted very bothered and only provided us with a small personal fan. The shower only has one temperature… very hot. Other than all that, the room was clean and everything else seemed to work properly. I know I’m from the states and we are known for pretty great customer service, but this was a joke. I’ve stayed at more comfortable 2 star hotels. We were rather late arriving to the hotel, but I arrive late to almost all hotels I stay at, and I’ve never experienced such bad service.

My partner and I stayed here for a night. We had come from Dublin and Louth! From the time we arrived we loved the spot. The staff are so happy and friendly and helpful. Unfortunately for us we had a situation with missing wallets bags phones after a night out. When I spoke to the staff they were just so so so amazing. I have never ever experienced such kindness and consideration from hotel staff as I have here! They helped us cancel cards and track phones and they were so accommodating towards us until we finally got our belongings back! Thank you so much in particular to the manager! I highly recommend this spot! Kindness goes a long long way!

Highly recommended Westwood, Food is always fabulous. Staff are very friendly. We drove far just to eat here tonight for our anniversary. Thanks a million for your service. Always a lovely night and rooms are comfy and clean.

Shocking experience last weekend, the hotel itself was ok clean and basic but sadly the problem came when I mistakenly left my shirt in my room normally honest hotel staff help out in such situations. I rang the hotel about 2 hours after we checked out when I was nearly home and I was brushed off and told call back tomorrow, so I did and again to no avail was told ring back again so I rang on Wednesday evening and got a vague answer pretty much pawning me off again so I finally rang back on Thursday morning 3 days after checking out and was told that my shirt wasn’t in lost and found not sadly I have no proof of what happened but you don’t have to be a genius to know, I was 100% sure my shirt was in my room but a mixture of dishonesty and a terrible attitude by the GM and reception staff led to me having no option but to just let them get away with it. Can safely say I will never be back again and I will make sure everyone I know will be told of this. Shame after a good night.

Nice room, comfortable. But too much heat, too hot in the room, air conditioning too noisy. Away from the Center.

5 star as usual room very clean lovely touch welcoming ur guest to hotel on TV in room. Staff wonderful and friendly very helpful. Dinner was amazing. What I love the most is it get up very early and without having to annoy my husband is going dowell stairs where there is always freshow take away tea and coffee.

Spacious room certainly but AC that doesnt flush toilet quo works very poorly medium TV and window that does not remain open heat not possible in the Chbre so pitiful night.

It is not worth these four stars the bedding is very worn the TV is very old and the kitchen is normal. On the other hand the setting is beautiful and the reception is very good.

No warm welcome, tired & shabby. Breakfast poor — disappointing.

A beautiful building with a lovely room and comfortable bed. I got it for a very good price. The shower was a little outdated, the room was very warm and there was sometimes an unpleasant smell in the building but overall a very nice stay with lovely staff.

Just did not feel like a 4 star. They didn't have a mat for the bathtub. One of us slipped. Too overpriced for what this old place is.

Nice, clean, quaint Hotel. The ambiance is quite nice. Service is stellar. I highly recommend a stay here if you're ever in Galway Ireland.

Comfortable and consistent. Definitely worth a visit for those who like accessibility to the city without being in it with the feel of almost being in the countryside.

Very nice 4 Star hotel just a short bus/taxi trip into town. Serves tasty bar food 12pm to 9pm daily.

Pub food was ok. And breakfast was just ok but rooms were cozy.

Excellent service provided by excellent staff with good humour and who create " feel good " atmosphere.

Was at the Westwood to meet someone. The bar and restaurant were closed (early in the morning), someone took the time to brew some coffee especially for me. It was free of charge because the cash register were not open yet. All of that with a great smile and knowing that I was not staying at the hotel. It's those small kind gestures that make all the difference. Will recommend this hotel to friends coming in Galway.

Decent food at a reasonable price. Very busy with weddings… plenty of parking.

Have to say at wedding few weeks ago and the food and service was brilliant. I would highly recommend it.

The hotel was very nice… Only the breakfast was somewhat disappointing… It seemed the personnel was more interested in having a breakfast themselves… We had to partially wait quite awhile before we were served.

I tripped over this on the way to meet a Ukulele group (not relevant I know! ) I was a bit hungry so looked up nearest bars with Google. I was expecting a boring rectangular drinking establishment but instead found it was a really high end bar/hotel. Very classy — people were generally dressed informally. I had a nice beer, and a very quickly served fish and chips. It was good but not brilliant and clearly not cheap but for a bar menu was better than normal and the beer was great. The service was very friendly and staff at reception and at the bar were all very welcoming.
