Weis Stue

We love Weis Stue. It is one of the few of its kind left in the wider area. It is still loyal to the Danish tradition. The food is very good, the atmosphere is amazing, the service is top-notch. Yes, it is not cheap, but good things come at a price. Please keep doing what you're doing, we love it.

I am giving 2 stars and not 1, just because it’s an interesting place historically and the waiter was nice… But the food was really bad : (I can see that there is an issue with good restaurants in Denmark in general, but I wouldn’t expect that even the dessert would be so bad… Still a nice place but maybe just for a glass of wine or tea ;)

We had a beautiful supper the night before our wedding in Ribe town hall with our family on December 18th. Due to the large wedding group we were asked to submit our meal selections early however this step was missed and they still were able to provide one of the most delicious meals. The service was amazing, the atmosphere very romantic. The restaurant has a deep history and is worth asking about. We highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

We had our dinner here. A Monday evening, but it was still evident that we needed to book a table.
Classical sandwich food, but not quite — the vegetables were still crunchy, nothing had been boiled to death. I ordered my beef red, and that was exactly how I received it.
The stereotypical idea of the positives about food in Jutland were reinforced — plentiful portions, gravy that you can cut in slices — but the negative stereotypes were dispelled. Their red wines were delicious, the vegetables were fresh, hardly anything had been deep-fried.
The prices were more than reasonable, if you're used to Copenhagen, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Even if you're not going to have your dinner here, stop by for a cup of coffee inside. The place is amazing.

We had a lovely meal for dinner inside the beautifully appointed, authentic and atmospheric old dining room! Service was exceptional, personalized, as was the food! Beautifully prepared and presented!

Quaint listed building — lovely historic building, comfy beds — but very dark as it would have been in the medieval age the lighting is about 3-4 lumens, using medieval style bulbs. Only one shower between all guests — this is an experience! Old building so no insulation, therefore you can hear anyone in the building when they whisper to each other about the secrets of the universe. However it was kept clean and in as good condition as you would expect. Nice for a night, maybe two but not good for a long haul! Unfortunately the food was disappointing and expensive for what you get, have had much better elsewhere in Denmark for more competitive prices, However the staff were friendly enough and helpful. All in all it's an experience and fair prices for the rooms cheaper than others in Ribe — but certainly wasn't impressed by the food, that was a let down.

I'm rating the restaurant, not the hotel.
The staff there are very friendly and attentive. There were four of us and we all only had a starter. The prices were absolutely reasonable, the food was super tasty and beautifully presented. I recommend the baked Camembert. This dish is so beautifully decorated and so tastefully complemented that it almost resembles Michelin-star cuisine.
