The location deserves 4 stars… but it was a confusing experience to stay at this former prison. To collect the key you are directed to a restaurant around the corner. We got our key and asked to stay for dinner. It was busy, so they made us wait for 30 minutes only to tell us the kitchen was closed. Since other restaurants were closing too they did offer us a burger. The burger was fine, but we felt unwelcome. The room was another unpleasant surprise. It was small, old in every way and not at all clean: the sheets had some blood on them (! ) and smelled funky. In the morning we wanted to use the shared (! ) shower, but the towels were too small to cover your body, so could not be used as a bathrobe. To make the prison experience more real the shower head was broken (it could not hang by itself). We were hoping by now the breakfast would make our stay better. Although it was very basic it was fine. Again it was very confusing, since it was unclear were you should sit. There was no waiting staff on arrival and the only waiter that did show up after a while was loud and seemed stressed. We would advise anyone to reconsider a stay.

The hotel is very well situated, but I would not recommend it. With the old cell door the atmosphere in the small room is claustrophobic. The sanatary installations need to be renovated. It was not possible to store the luggage in the hotel itself, we had to go to a restaurant nearby.
