Kragsbjerggaard Hotel Kragsbjerggaard

We came here with a larger group of people. The location was very beautiful, especially with the current winter setting. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast covered all our needs and the rooms, especially in the hotel, were spacious and comfy. The place also has a kitchen where we could make our own food and we used the games room with table tennis and soccer to enjoy our evenings. Thank you very much!

Absolutely terrible experience at Kragsberg Hostel. The beds were awful — I barely slept, and I woke up with back and knee pain. The rooms were filthy and clearly not cleaned properly. The owner was extremely rude, and they even tried to scam us by charging extra just to get bed sheets. The Wi-Fi wasn’t free either, which is ridiculous. The breakfast was disgusting — I literally found hair and pieces of plastic in the food. Avoid this place at all costs.

I was very enthusiastic about Kragsbjerggaard, mainly because of its history and uniqueness. It didn't really work for us, for the following reasons:
1. It's a bit far from the center of Odense, particularly the train station and particularly if you don't have a car. The neighborhood is a very attractive single-family home neighborhood with no stores or services. This was problematic when we wanted something to eat.
2. Many, if not most, rooms have a shared bathroom.
3. Our room and bathroom were TINY. Probably the tiniest I've ever experienced. (And I stay in budget hotels in New York City frequently). It wasn't big enough for more than two single beds and a small chair. No room to open a suitcase. If you are sitting on the toilet, your knees will be under the sink. Furthermore, there isn't any kind of lobby or common-area space where you could spend time.
4. The breakfast was adequate, but pretty spartan.
5. The hotel is unstaffed after 5:00 P. M. I neglected to read the on my reservation confirmation that I was supposed to notify them of a late arrival by 4:00 P. M. When our train arrived in Odense at 5:15, I was a little frantic about whether we'd be able to get in our room, and there was no one to call. Luckily, they left our room key in the reception area… it would have been nice if they could have emailed us to let us know they were doing this.
5. Our room, on the second floor, was too hot, all night long, even with the window open.
