Very poor attention from the reception and especially from his front desk manager Edgar Moya I had an inconvenience I requested to speak to him and did not want to attend to, lousy customer service.

Comfortable and relatively affordable hotel option just off the bustling commercial center of San José. It shares a building with a surprisingly nice 24/7 Denny’s restaurant, another nice bar/restaurant, and a small casino. Equipped with a pool, tennis facilities, workout room and business center, it’s got just about anything a family or business traveler would want. Grounds are pretty and well maintained. Check-in was slow, but staff were super polite and helpful, and let me drop off my bags and grab lunch while the room was being prepared. Rooms were clean and comfy, with a small drink fridge and a pull-out writing desk, as well as in-room safe and iron, etc. Bathroom/shower was adequate, if not luxurious, with super hot water and decent pressure. Wi-Fi, however, was super slow. Another nice bonus was the several welcome drink coupons the hotel gave me at check in, redeemable at any restaurants/bar in the building. The breakfast area is also a big plus — it’s a beautiful garden area with cafe-style seating and excellent breakfast options, including eggs, sliced fruit, cheese, many kinds of cereals, an attended omelette/waffle bar, special tropical fruits like Manon Chino and Jocote, and of course, excellent Britt coffee.

Staff very helpful courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean. Maid service good Food delicious.

The room was dirty (had hair in the bathroom and tub), toilet didn't flush well, it smelled bad and the glasses in our room had finger smudges on them. However, the breakfast was great, grounds were beautiful, shuttle driver fantastic. Because of the state of the rooms, I would not stay here and would also not recommend staying here.

Not for business purposes. Carpet is 20year old and needs a thorough wash. Noisy hotel with no concern from the staff. Be careful of your dry cleaning as my jacket didn't came back as sent. Lovely jacuzzi and had 3 restaurant choice.

The hotel is near the city centre and the highway. Just be careful while driving. The hotel has two restaurants and the breakfast is really good.

The time does not pass X this hotel with so much time D being in operation, always looks cool and contemporary. The location is perfect for both city businessmen and tourists Q plan to travel to different tourist areas of the country as everything is close and its contemporary style and central garden make it unique and chic. It Has a Denny's restaurant in the hotel open late at night, an adjoining supermarket that has everything for which you need a quick purchase and a Gasolineria with convenience store to 5min walking.
Time does not pass Throug this hotel for the long time it has been in operations. It always looks fresh and contemporary. The location is perfect both for city dwellers and leisure travelers thinking in traveling to different tourist areas of the country because everything is close. It's contemporary style and center courtyard makes it unique and chic. Has a Denny's restaurant and a supermarket right next to it for quick shopping needs and a gas station with a convience store.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good choice in San Jose, plenty of amenities and very varied breakfasts, good chefs. Pool and jacuzzi available, gym too. Perfect Hotel for business and group trips. I really enjoyed the stay of 4 nights.

An amazing experience. The facilities are very comfortable and nice, has different recreation areas for all ages. It is a very full hotel although it does not have its own restaurant.

Rooms are nice. Dennys restaurant 24 hr room serivce. Nice pool. Staff very friendly we stayed extra day.

Shuttle service from the airport to the hotel did not work. Despite repeated calls… Phone was simply not taken off or removed and hung. Hotel itself is okay. And has a nice pool…

A nice medium class hotel with all the commodities. Several external restaurants and convenience stores just at the entrance of the hotel; it is not far from city center tho. The pool with a nice clear view of the sky is worth of a pool-exclusive day. The casino is a good extra option of entertainment. Definitely staying here again!

The room was comfortable and it had a great view of the pool. All three restaurants onsite were all pleasantly genuinely good. The service was impecable and the food quality was real good. I would recommend this place for Sure! The employees were all bilingual and very polite and helpful and there was Great access to taxis and tours at concierge. Two thumbs up!

Friendly and helpful staff. No hot water from the shower, so they sent in maintenance immediately and gave us a choice to move rooms. Heat thermostat in the room was not working and had to request more blankets. Not properly vacuumed around the nightstand and behind headboard so allergies to dust kicked in, sneezing, coughing etc. We are late risers and it remained peaceful and quiet throughout our stay which we were grateful for due to us being unwell. Missed breakfast everyday but was reimbursed with coupons that could be used at Denny’s. Loved the service there. Gardens and pool area are beautifully maintained although too cold to enjoy it. Took trips to the mall, downtown market square and restaurants, all very accessible from here. Spent 4 nights, great recovery time from a long trip!

Excellent property. Well-maintained inside and outside. Restaurants are convenient and provide a good variety of choice. Staff is very professional, friendly and accommodating. I would return if I were in San Jose, Costa Rica again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities. Friendly and familiar atmosphere. Unfortunately during my visit the jacuzzi did not work properly for 3 days and most of the time there were not enough clean cloths (towels) in the pool.

BLOOD ON MY SHEETS! Only reason I’m here is for a cancelled flight. Manager gave me new sheets and I had to remake my own bed, they didn’t even remake it. Disgusting.

There are actually two hotels, the Best Western Plus and the regular Best Western. The Plus one offers great internet, an improved breakfast and recently renovated rooms so it's worth the extra money. Good location as it's only a 20 mins ride to the airport.

The Best Western Irazú Hotel and Casino is top quality at a reasonable price. It offers a number of facilities that allow the guest to feel better than at home, as a spacious and comfortable room, pleasant temperature, Internet room, restaurants and varied bars, large swimming pool that includes Jacuzzi, casino, ornament and afforestation very well Planned and, above all, a staff that attends with affection and respect.

A standardised hotel for those who are not looking for a change of scenery. Nice pool area and staff smiling and attentive. We stayed there after a flight cancellation.

Comfortable rooms, clean sheets, nice bathroom but its a bit old, the gym is basically two machines, they dont have their own restaurant.

Very good stay at the Irazú, rooms are clean, quiet, pool was clean and the jacuzzi area was nice. It would be much better to have more breakfast options at Denny's. Eventhough we only stayed one night it was a very enjoyable stay. Thanks. Hope to come back soon.

We stayed here for a week for a taekwondo tournament. The hotel arranged our hassle free airport transportation which was nice. Although, they do cram as many people as they can into one van with everyone in seats. The hotel is a little outdated and the rooms do have a weird smell that seems to come from the restrooms. The beds are comfy, and the restrooms seem to be more modern than the exterior and hallways. Housekeeping came and cleaned our rooms and replaced the towels everyday even though we didn't place the door knob notice outside, which was appreciated. The hotel-provided shampoo is a 2 in1, which unfortunately never works well for us ladies. They also provide body soap and lotion. The rooms have AC which works well, the flat screen TV is nice and a good size. They also offer a safe, coffee maker with Britt coffee and hairdryer. The hotel free breakfast buffet was the best! With lots of fruit options, coffee, cereal, and a variety of hot foods and made to order omelete station, this was totally worth staying here! There are restaurants on site as well, Denny's and Sangria Bar. Dennys was EXPENSIVE! But the staff was friendly. Sangria Bar had descent food at average prices but unfortunately the staff could have been A LOT more friendly and helpful. The entire time we stayed here, we only had ONE good experience at the Sangria Bar where our server was extremely nice and attentive.

In love of the hotel, only needs improve on the elevators, and add some things for personal usage like a cleaning kit but besides that everything was good. The people was so nice I'm more than sure that I'll be back.

This was a beautiful Best Western which includes a casino, Denny's, and other restaurants within. Large open areas inside to walk and look at art or to seim in the multiple pools.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel while stay in San Jose.

I stayed here 4 night's long for business trip. Everything was great. Room spectacular on swimming pool garden. Very quite in the night. Clean in everywhere. Maybe bedrooms must to be renewed because look old. Personal at the desk very kind and polite especially Jesus and Susana.
I will come back in the future.

I have never stayed in a hotel where it wasn't common sense for the maid not to knock much less help herself into our room at 7:15 in the morning! We spent extra money for a quiet, relaxing room before we began a long day of traveling after 21 days of noisy hostiles. NOT to have someone coming to "do the laundry" at 7:15 and then have management act like we did something wrong by not stating the obvious on the door. Do not disturb. You would think they'd have enough common sense to check their high tech computer system before sending their maids INTO rooms. I have stayed at many hotels and never had anyone help themselves into our room OR wake us up for any reason. Very disappointed with this hotel.

A very nice place to stay the night before your departure or late arrival. The staff is very friendly and they have a wide range of accommodations. It is very peaceful and a beautiful place to relax. I always stay there the night before I fly back home. They recently changed the airport shuttle schedule to only twice a day, where recently it upon request.

Great luxury there is nothing to envy to other 5-star.

This hotel has bars, restaurants and casinos. The rooms are beautiful and elegant. It is located in a very good place.

The Best Western Irazu was an ok experience. The service was a little slow. If you are a smoker, you have to step off grounds to smoke. Also the casino slots are a little shady. My friend used colones. The slot voucher said she won $183 in American but they only gave us 33 dollars. We asked but they insisted on the money was right that they gave us. She only got back 33 dollars. She only put a few bucks in to start so atleast she did not loose.

The worst todaythe of costa rica waste between garbage almost made ground breakfast if you want to try manure in services food and attention this rs what you seek.

On a flight to Peru we were rerouted to Costa Rica and had to stay overnight in this Best Western and they were very accommodating. They provided a whole plane full of passengers with transportation, a room, dinner, and breakfast. Of course the cost was covered by the airline but Best Western staff treated us respectfully. They were terrific hosts. I admire their hospitality because they were obviously not prepared to deal with a plane full of people on such short notice but they did their best, and I am grateful. I highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay near the airport while in Costa Rica.

I'm from Bolivia and I stayed at this hotel for the BYND 2015 and I can say It's the best hotel has ever existed in Costa Rica.
