Wonderful food and amazing staff!

Excelent food not just for dinner, but if you stay for night also a breakfast is amazing. We stayed there for 6 nights and it was the best choice. We had probably the best pizza ever, even though we have been to Italy more than 10 times. Great views and also Francesca is an amazing host. Highly recommended place.

The food is authentic Italian and delicious. The view over looking the ocean priceless.
And the service was excellent.

First dining out experience of our “new normal”. We were there with another couple for an early dinner to celebrate a birthday. The owner was lovely, the service was friendly and attentive and the view is outstanding. The food was exceptional as was the wine. We’ll definitely be going back.

My husband and I stumbled upon Gusto Italian Restaurant while visiting Dominicalito. The food was absolutely excellent — perfectly blended flavors, very fresh ingredients, everything handmade (including the pasta) with care and attention to detail. We had bruschetta for an appetizer, gnocchi for the primo piatto, red snapper for the secondo piatto, and chocolate gelato and panna cotta for dessert. The wine list is also wonderful, and they helped us choose the perfect wine for our tastes and for the food we ordered. And the view is fantastic too — definitely head up before sunset! It was an absolute pleasure to experience such top-notch Italian cooking in such a beautiful setting.

The food is outstanding! Truly authentic, home-made, Italian food served by the most gracious of hosts… and the jaw-droping view is a must… before sunset pf course.

So so SO very delicious dinner we had at Gusto! Italian food at the very top level, my husband claimed his spaghetti carbonara to be the best he ever had! So surprised to find it in Costa Rica, considering we already visited Italy more than once. Also perfect service provided by the Italian couple running the place! If you're ever in the area, PLEASE visit Gusto for dinner, you will not regret it!

Excellent menu with great Italian wine selection. The antipasto tray was the best I have had since eating Italian food in Chicago. Owners very sincere on ensuring you have a great restaurant experience. The ambience and spectacular view will make your dining experience perfect.

Regarding Gustos. I normally wouldn't give a bad review because everyone has an off day. This is an exception. We arrived around 6:45pm on a Monday. There was 4 adults and 2 small children in our party.
At first, we were impressed by the friendly staff and atmosphere of the restaurant.
The restaurant had people dining but I would not say it was packed or busy. We waited around 1 hour or so for our appetizer which was Bruchetta. That was really good!
When our meals finally came, about 1.5 hrs after we arrived, the food was below average for 3 out of the 4 adults. The food was very salty and 2 of the entrees were Luke warm. The description of 2 of the entrées from our server we were given didn't match up with what we received. Only one person said their food was good and ate it. 3 of the adults barely ate any of their food and we left hungry. Oh, the wine 2 of the guests had was good too.
I hope that this restaurant takes this review as a clue to make some changes.

Simply sweet hard working Italian yuppies who left highly taxed careers in Italy behind to live pura vida. They will go out of their way to create a special visit to this gem in the southern pacific coast. Be prepared for a few bugs but you can awake to an incredible view each morning and when paired with these gracious hosts' care and wonderful Italian food, will make for an unforgettable visit.

This place is amazing! If you want authentic Italian cuisine and not be in Italy’s this is the place! Everything is homemade! My favorite dish on the menu is the pumpkin with sausage dish. Every single bite I take I think it can’t get any better and it does! The salads are insane! You don’t need dressing. Franchesca bakes the bread homemade and there is no bread better. My mouth is watering thinking about this place! Going again next week.

Fantastic hotel. New owners since december 2017. I think all the problems I've seen on other comments are solved. We had an incredible bedroom on the sea, incredible view, animals (tucan, monkeys, lots of different birds). The shower also has sea view. Bedding confortable. The restaurant also is very good, with real italian products. I highly recommend the place.

My parents found Ranchos Remo on Tripadvisor because they were looking for a beautiful place to see the Ballena "Whale Tail" from above and we were surprised to find a newly opened (Dec 21, 2017) Italian restaurant called Gusto. The food was DELICIOUS and the views were spectacular. What really set this place apart was the SUPER friendly people. Francesca was warm and kind and truly a delight to speak with. Hearing Spanish with an Italian accent was so neat! This was the only restaurant we visited twice during our 14 day trip to Costa Rica and my parents were glad that we came back the 2nd time because my brother had forgotten his hat there and Francesca remembered us and brought his hat to him right away! If you are in Uvita and like fresh, authentic and delicious, Italian food and a jaw dropping view of Playa Ballena, you MUST head up the mountain road to Ranchos Remo and the restaurant Gusto. You will not be disappointed. I promise!

Ranchos Remo is a family owned eco-friendly project featuring eight open air rustic cabins and one restaurant situated high on the hills, overlooking Playa Hermosa and Bahia Ballena. The family that owns Ranchos Remo also owns a supermarket in Uvita which allows them to run Ranchos Remo all year-round and treat it as as important lifestyle and conservation project. Upon arrival I was taken back by the expansive view. You find yourself literally sitting above the forest canopy and can not only view the famous Whale’s Tail sandbar and length of Playa Hermosa, but watch parrots, toucans, hummingbirds and vultures fly around. The grounds of Ranchos Remo are immaculately kept, from the flower beds to the trails to access the cabins. Miguel, the manager of Rancho Remo, a Costa Rican from neighboring Uvita gave us a welcoming tour and was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Ranchos Remo is only accessible via a 4x4 vehicle as it is connected to the main highway that runs along the coast (Carretera Pacifica Fernandez Oreamuno) via a dirt road. I went for a run every morning and while the decent and hike up the dirt road where challenging, access to the beach is about a 20 minutes on foot or 4 minute drive. We where allocated a cabin with a sea view which is an important detail. Only three out of the eight cabins have open direct full views of the bay. The other five cabins overlook the mountains.

Great food. Chef came put and talked and joked with us. Very comfy location with an amazing view. Just be sure you can make it up the hill.
