Great food and views, always a stop for us while visiting Jaco. Service could be better though, you're on vacation so relax it is worth the wait. Try the Seafood soup!

I love the rustic touches, the attentive staff, the food. It’s laid back. If you are visiting from America or need a place to be around gringos, it’s great. If you want to get some local Pura Vida it’s great. The rooms are clean the AC is cold, and it’s in the middle of everything.

Nice little hotel close to beach. Food is very good. Rooms clean and cold a/c. Right on strip in Jaco. Short walk to everything. I have stayed here several times. I have always had a good stay.

The rooms are nice and the price is good. Awesome bar and restaurant. The food is really good. They also have an upstairs sports bar ideal to watch the games (soccer, NFL, NBA, etc). Lots of TVs. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Oh, and very cold beers. All that with A/C, which helps a lot when you're in Jacó.

One of two or three places in Jaco to stay at. It was noisy, but I think ALL of Jaco is noisy at night. The owner was super nice and informative! One down side was that the room had a strong smell of cleaning product! Great Location!

This hotel could definitely use some upkeep and maintenance. The rooms were musty, the sheets were ripped, and the towels had holes in them. You will definitely need earplugs because it can be SO loud! Even with guests being quiet, earplugs were necessary as the rooms are not sound proof whatsoever. The staff is friendly and the restaurant nice, but the hotel itself is not worth staying.

Nice boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed, great breakfast, nice pool, nice restaurant and bar.

Decent TV set up, but very high food prices for the area and my wings took 45 minutes. Super slow service.

We love it so much we stayed a few days longer! Staff speaks both English and Spanish to accommodate tourists. Not to mention the food and drinks were wonderfully prepared.

Jaco is kind of sketchy. This place is right in town, a couple blocks from the beach. Because of its location, it is noisy. There was supposedly free parking, but actually is just street parking if you can find any. The general area feels unsafe and has a lot of drunk people around that kept trying to isolate me on the street in daylight. The hotel itself is okay. Clean and simple. The real issue is location and noise.

This rating applies to the restaurant — I didn't stay here. For lunch, the food at the restaurant was so good we went twice — 2 days back-to-back. Prices on many items are similar to the sodas, but you also get great service, a full bar offering, and air conditioning. The wait staff was great, laughed and joked with us about how pitiful my Spanish is. Highly recommend the fish tacos — really fresh mahi-mahi that was perfectly prepared. This place is a must for eating out in Jaco.

Ugh. I just got home and am scratching my head about where the people who rated this place 5 stars have stayed previously. It's why I booked it, but it was kind of gross. The best thing about this place is the location — it's probably 1 1/2 blocks to the beach. But I found my room to be in need of cleaning. The shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time — considerable mildew in the grout and rather than fixing a leaky faucet in the shower, they left an old dirty rag to catch the drips — it was beyond gross. (Pictures to follow. ) TThere was a broken electrical cover too. The whole place felt like it was neglected and in need of some TLC. I was on the second floor and note that there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up and down a flight of stairs. The room is small (my guess is well under 200 square feet) — — no problem there-I never plan to spend a lot of time there anyway, but in it were two double beds, a table and chairs and an oversized loveseat as well as a shelving unit. When I walked in, there was a mildewy/musty smell about it. I stayed for two nights and it wasn't cleaned on either day — granted I left early the third day. If you're a fraternity brother, this place is probably fine, otherwise I would take a pass.

Great clean place that is American owned and run, with awesome food and a nice bar.

This place is the BEST. Tim and Chrissy were fantastic hosts, and they went above and beyond for our group. Food was great. Fishing trips were booked. Mtn biking booked. Zip line tour booked. They showed us ALL of the stuff we would have missed. I HIGHLY recommend the Hotel Poseidon for your Costa Rica stay! Kevin Hussey.
