Aguila de Osa Rainforest Lodge Hotel

I was so pleased with Aguila De Osa. Less than 48 hours before we were to fly in, we received a call from the airline saying our flight to Suirpa had been cancel. I called Aguila De Osa and they quickly said they would make some phone calls to get us transportation from San Jose to Suirpa. At about 10pm their time, I received an email saying they had arranged private transportation from San Jose but also from Suirpa to Drake Bay since we would miss our connecting boat because of the 5 hour drive time. They went above and beyond to make sure everything moved smoothly. The minute we stepped off the boat, Christina was there to greet us by name. They made us feel like part of their family and made sure we had everything we needed. They set up all of our tours and made sure we knew where we needed to be and when. Christina and Nancy were amazing. They ensured that we always had what we needed even before we knew we needed it. The owner was there everyday and we could tell that he loved his staff like his own family. We definitely look forward to visiting again.

We stayed at Aguila de Osa for a week in May and did a combination of the honeymoon, jungle, and scuba diving adventures. The resort and surrounding Osa peninsula are absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the master suite and soon as we arrived and walked out onto our balcony we were greeted by monkeys, toucans, and hummingbirds. The food and drinks were great every day and the staff is really friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of menu options. The owner Brad and his managers are onsite and active in the day to day operations. The resort runs like a well oiled machine and it's obvious the staff have been working together for a long time. We really enjoyed the complimentary kayak use and our guided tour to Corcovado National Park. We saw tons of wildlife, we even got to see Tapirs. Our favorite part of our stay was getting scuba certified with Kiké. Caño Island is truly world-class scuba. Maybe we just got lucky but we saw sharks, eels, octopus, seahorses, rays, and tons of fish on every dive. We are currently planning another trip to Drake Bay and can't imagine staying anywhere else besides Aguila de Osa.

Wow. This place is paradise. My wife and I just stayed there in July 2021 for our honeymoon, it was pure amazement. The service (Starting with Nancy) is incredibly friendly, helpful and always on-point. Seriously, as soon as we arrived at this hotel we extended our booking by several nights. It didn't take long to learn that Aguila de Osa is unlike almost any hotel I'd ever been to before. They're proactive in terms of making sure your schedule is easy to navigate, they help book your activities so you don't have to worry about a thing! Just show up to their delicious meals — which change every day so you never eat the same thing twice — and all the fun stuff in between, and you're good! This is the best possible destination for those who want to get off the beaten path a little bit but also have some truly tasteful luxury eco-living. It's on the Osa Peninsula which is packed with tropical animal life. There were monkeys running across our cabin's gorgeous roof on several mornings! Nothing about this place is normal, from the incredible drinks to the stunning cuisine. Their chef is a true maestro. Just go here. My wife and I spent our honeymoon here back in 1998. It was the best time we have ever had and we promised each other one day we would come back. The sights, sounds, cottages, food and service were amazing and a special bonus was all the fish we caught.

We had a wonderful time at Aguila de Oso. The food was fabulous and fresh. The eco tours were wonderful. Snorkeling was excellent. Guides were knowledgeable and interested in what we wanted to see. Overall a fabulous 3 nights!

Wonderful atmosphere and outstanding staff who really go the extra mile making you feel welcome and comfortable. Outstanding food and drinks with a special cocktail hour before dinner where guests are encouraged to get to know each other. Wish I could stay longer!

Aguilar de Osa is THE PERFECT PLACE to be while discovering Corcovado. We've spent some unforgettable days there. Great food and staff — no ac or TV was not available — not that it would have been used but its good to have the choice. Great location for excursions.

Depends what you are looking for: it is charming and quaint with very friendly staff, and the food is incredible. Rooms are nice but no air con and we had two nights with very large ants (40+). The beach is a 18 min walk away from the hotel, no pool or air con so do not expect to chill by the pool. People seemed to agree the fishing was a key highlight. Cano island is ok for snorkelling but not outstanding. San Ped ranger station walks show you things you mostly see in arenal and monteverde except crocodiles amd toucans but the waterfall/cascade is nice. Drakes bay is not an easy place to get to from San Jose/other places unless you fly.

Spartan, do not expect great comfort. Meal Type canteen. Finally it is made because it is the only ' ' hotel ' ' on the beach, the majority of the others are high. We can still say that the value for money is bad.

Beautiful spot right on the mouth of a river into Drake Bay. Food was amazing, with a changing menu of fish (often caught on the daily fishing trips from the Inn), meat or veg options. Great cocktails as well! We had a really relaxing four nights here and loved it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the communal area on large group tables so the expectation is you socialise with other groups so if you wanted to have a more private experience it might not be your thing. The trips are well organised with experienced and knowledgable guides that we found well worth the cost. During our stay we went on a snorkelling excursion around Cano Island, a hike around Corcovado National Park and a boat trip through the mangroves. All of which we loved and thoroughly recommend. Would have been 5 stars but for the price it felt like some of the areas could do with a little attention (plug socket hanging off the wall in the bedroom for instance).

What a treat this Resort is! Wonderful staff, fun to talk to, knowledgeable about the area and all there is to do. We had an incredible group to be with snorkeling, hiking, swimming and kayaking. We were so lucky to meet such great people. Fun is to be had every day! The food was delicious — breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour and dinner. The rooms are comfortable and cool… but there is a bit of a hike to get to them! Such a fun and relaxing place!

This little corner of paradise is perfect for discovering the terrestrial and aquatic fauna. The garden is great, the rooms are very large, have a fridge, chairs, hammocks. The bathroom is also very large and open to nature without human screw. The excursions offered are very well organized, the groups are small. A warm atmosphere is maintained between the participants: cocktails welcome, meals taken together on large tables, friendly moment around a culinary aperitif … When you speak English, contact is very easy. The meals are all prepared from fresh and local produce, they are plentiful, diversified, and very good. Small hiking trails are accessible on a stand-alone basis (impression of playing the Crusoe Robinsons), as well as self-service kayaks to meet the rapids and the Caimans. The beaches are just before taste of the earthly Eden.

Excellent Adventure Hotel.

This place is a paradise! Each room has a treehouse feel and is tucked in to the rainforest, surrounded by nature's beauty, sounds and serenity. The staff is phenomenal, friendly, accommodating, and professional! They set us up with activities galore, from hiking, to whale watching, snorkeling, and more!
The food is fresh (much of it is grown in their own garden) and absolutely delicious! We had such a wonderful stay that we were sad to leave! I highly recommend Aguila De Osa and would return in a minute!

A great option to stay in touch with nature.

A most extraordinary time! This place embraced the stalk beauty and drama of this area of Costa Rica, while providing exquisite personal service. The opportunities to explore the local areas were endless. Corcovado Reserve was a particularly great environment and one that should always be protected.

Very beautiful. Relaxing. Top tier chef. Marvelous staff. This is a dream vacation.
