We had a cozy room right near the pool, and everything was clean on the beautifully manicured property.
The service was impeccable from the first greeting at the dock with pretty and chilled beverages and shoe cleaning station, through each adult beverage and delicious meal. It was really convenient that they offered laundry service on property. So much fun relaxing in the rocking chairs on the dock! The only annoyance during the stay was the cute resident dog barking outside our door at 6am. But totally recommend this lodge for a relaxing laid-back cozy clean stay where they make you feel welcome and comfortable from start to finish.

Pretty nice hotel with friendly staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. The food that they serve is prettt delicious as well. Really not much to add other than its Clclos to the main village as well.

A Great place to stay. The food is great the staff is nice and the rooms are nice.

If you add ever in Tortuguero to see the sea turtles or just the beautiful wildlife of the river, this isn't a bad place to stay. The staff speaks English and is very helpful (look for Mariela). It's a three minute boat ride away from town. The location is a very small resort, mostly rooms and a small pool. They do have a cheap laundry service which was extremely helpful for the times you'll be rained on here. The main downside to la Baula is the rooms. They are very humid and the only way of cooling down is a single fan. The bathroom sink floods the floor and the electrical outlets shorted out my official LG charger, which has quick charge so either bring a surge protector or a non fast charger. The dining experience here is about average. Drinks for happy hour lack in alcohol content.

The location is peaceful and beautiful. Food is typical Costa Rican fare, fresh and plentiful. Accommodations are clean and and simple. Walls are paper thin. The front reception staff lacks enthusiasm and service.

Stunning location. Aging structures including bathrooms/WC but still acceptable. Very nice garden. Good breakfast and buffet dinner. Happy hours. Pool. Suitable for families and groups. Garden SPA. Couple massage package 1 hour $90. Great room open at the water's edge.

A spacious place surrounded by nature. The facilities are nice and neat; It has rooms, restaurant, pool and gardens. Very friendly staff. It is recommended to bring repellent and coating. There is a taxi-boat service to the village and they organise canoe tours to Tortuguero National Park.

The bathroom smells like a sewer and there's no hot water. There is only Wi-Fi at the front desk.

Beautiful location with a nice small pool. Currently undergoing some much needed renovations. They offer buffet style dining that we enjoyed along with a happy hour!

We don't require a lot to be happy. The rooms are comfortable, grounds are beautiful with lots of birding opportunities. People are great as is the food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Pretty much everything needed for a great adventure. Price with all meals is our best yet.

Excellent food and attention, sleep lulled by animals, crickets, Bell Frog and Congo monkeys, zero noise of cars, you will breathe an unparalleled peace.

The staff is pleasant to chat with, and the location is great with respect to Tortuguero! I enjoyed having breakfast and dinner here as well. I will say though that the rooms' bathrooms could use renovation.

Great place to stay! Stunningly beautiful as you reside along the tropical forest. Howler monkeys will wake you up 5am, which gives this place a nice sense of being in the wild. Food and drink really hold this place up, lots of variety and quantity to choose from. Desert is also given, and there is a bar for some alcohol drinks too. Best hotel I've ever eaten at. There was also a pool where I spent a lot of time with my friends, and the large dining area becomes a nice place for card games and socialising after supper. There's no AC in the lodges though, so it's a little humid when it's time for bed.

Appropriate place to visit Tortuguero.

Absolutely fantastic location in the middle of the rain forest. The Lodge came very easy and in the years to come.

Great place. Service exceptional. Cuisine international and delicious. The howlers will wake you at 0500. Enjoy, our party of 9 had a great time.

Beautiful tropical experience! One of the funnest places I stayed at in CR. Great service with wonderful friendly employees and amazing authentic food. Plenty of adventures to enjoy with quick service and assistance by the resort staff. Went turtle watching along the Caribbean in the middle of the night with a guide and on a rainforest walk directly behind the resort. Howler monkeys and toucans literally outside your door when you get up in the morning and a rich secluded rainforest only accessed by boat. I would recommend!
