I loved the Hotel, it is a bit far from the Volcano and has no hot springs, but we compensate with a delicious massage from Marta. That and sustainable fish was the best of the best.

Very beautiful facilities, very cozy cabins. Excellent cuisine, both in what they offer and in the service they provide. And the best thing was Marta's massage service, they should offer said service since one arrives at the hotel, it is excellent and restorative.

Excellent attention from the staff, very packed manager, exquisite meals and cozy bungalos, really everything invites us to return again, we were super satisfied with everything in general.

If your looking for a bunglow in the rainforest experince this is the place. It is difinetly hidden in the rainforest a little outside of La Fourtuna. It does cost extra to get a shuttle to this place, not walking distance to La Fourtuna. The staff, grounds and food were excellent. We wish we would have stayed longer. I only wish I would have had someoe carry my luggage up those stairs, but Deigo and his stuff are very welcoming.

Out in the middle of of nowhere. Wild life, scenery, seclusion. We only ate, food is great, and toured the grounds at night for frogs, snakes, birds other critters. Extremely secluded beauty. No 5th star because I didn't see a room.

Diego made us feel like we were welcome such a great place would certainly return here again. Thanks for such aa wonderful stay.

Staying at the ChaChagua hotel for our first time in Costa Rica was the best decision we made. You are in the middle of the rainforest surrounded by a gorgeous view and the sound of the river and animals. There are a few hikes to do at the hotel for days when you don’t want to go out all the day, but would like to stay active. We did most hikes on our own, except the first day. The first day We did a lovely Hike with Diego, who is very passionate and knowledgeable of the forest and it’s animals. Diego and all of the hotel staff are kind and welcoming. The only thing is I wished they had mini fridges in the bungalows, but we didn’t ask if they had any so it was not that big of a deal. All in all, Staying here definitely added value to our Costa Rican experience!

The place is beautiful and the attention excellent. The only thing I find pertinent to notify is that it has about two miles of stone entrance. A low car passes but gently and slowly. It's more for 4x4 cars.

This place is gorgeous! This place has a lot of eco-friendly features, a common theme in Costa Rica. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are 2 hiking trails within the hotel grounds that you can do with a tour guide or self-guided. The restaurant has decent food, but if you have a car I would suggest going elsewhere for food. This place is about a 25-30min car ride from La Fortuna so its difficult to stay here if you dont have a car. The taxi we took from La Fortuna cost about $25 so it's not easy to get into town if we just wanted a snack. The room is very large and spacious, however bugs still manage to get into the room.

It was an incredible and magical place. You can hear all the sounds and witness the beauty of the rainforest. The restaurant served delicious food. Our room was big, airy and cleaned. The bathroom shower was spectacular. You can see the rainforest as you showered. In addition, the hammock in front of your bungalow was a plus. The staff were informative and friendly. We love Diego! He was funny and super informative. We enjoyed his tour of the rainforest. We look forward to visiting here again.

Really amazing. Each lodge is slighty elevated and positioned for privacy and in the middle of the forest. The lodges are great with a large veranda, seating and hammock, just fab. Plus lots of lovely noises going on. Amazing birds to watch. The food is not pretty or exciting, very mediocre.

First entrance, we were sent to a lower room to the reserved, the next day we moved to the original reservation, the shower extremely dirty, the wood floor of the first room, of terror. It helps them enormously the wooded environment, that actually saves them.

Very nice place to relax in the middle of the jungle. The small bungalows are especially recommended for overnight stay.

Beautiful place, so peaceful. We had a private bungalow with a terrace, huge bed, lots of windows. There were even windows in the bathroom, so we were able to see the trees while taking shower. Restaurant is serving delicious food, they have good selection of food and drinks. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It's a bit tricky to get there, hotel is located a bit on a side, but really worth it. There also several hiking trails on hotel's grounds, we saw toucans and sloths while walking there. Really hope we would have a chance to come back.

Great place. Staff are amazing. Food was good. Lots to see around the property and at night looking for frogs was a blast. If it's your first time here the drive in might put you off but you will love it once your here.

I had an idea this place would be nice, but it was even nicer that I imagined. It boasts a great rain forest location, with PLENTY of wildlife seen right from the property! Great rooms, great restaurant, and kind service. We took a nighttime frog tour, which was also great, in part because of our guide, Alberto. I HIGHLY recommend Alberto, and he is extremely knowledgeable and friendly!

If you drive yourself to the hotel, it is difficult to commute to and from the hotel due to unmarked and unpaved roads. Additionally, there aren't many street lights to help assist with directions. It is located behind local homes/farms. The hotel is beautiful and the employees are very nice. The second night the electricity went out in the middle of the night for about 2 hours and we expected someone will come to inform us with an update or provide us with candles/flashlights. To our surprise, we were not updated or informed of further accommodations. The room we stayed at was assumed to be luxurious with a fridge and toiletries. However it was a small bedroom with neither provided and minimal privacy. We can clearly hear the conversations of the people staying next door. It's a great hotel for staying the night but not worth for more than a day or two.

Remarkably tranquil and rejuvenating. Clean and off the grid. No TV, no cell. Wi-Fi was available. I give this resort my highest score if you love nature. Plus, close to all the great attractions of the region.

Beautiful, a place to rest and forget about the Internet, the T. V. Of the worries, excellent to spend as a couple. They also make good walks.

Great place to bird. Next to the restaurant flutter the hummingbirds and rest a lazy while the water runs fresh through the ravine.

This place is definitely worth the effort to get to. We encountered leaf cutter ants, a howler monkey, unique birds and other wildlife. They have some beautiful hiking trails through the rainforest. The restaurant served delicious food. The staff was friendly and willing to let me practice my Spanish with them. Our bungalow was cute with a big bed and a shower overlooking the stream. It had a nice patio area with a table, chairs and a hammock. You'll definitely want to rent a SUV or high clearance vehicle as the last few miles are on a rough road. Print out their instructions. Google Maps sent us on a long route with a washed out bridge. It takes 30-60 minutes to get to the nearby sites but it was wonderful to come home to the soothing sounds of the rainforest after being in the touristy places all day.

Wow, we LOVE this place. The private cottages are great, the food is delicious, and the staff is super friendly. We have done 2 tours so far and both were very fun and led by extremely knowledgeable guides. We took the night tour and saw frogs, an ant eater, birds, and snakes. The horseback riding was super fun — we got to gallop, learned about the local trees and plants, and got to jump off a waterfall. From the hotel we have seen monkies, birds (including Toucans! ), a sloth, and an iguana, and we have only been here 2 days so far. Would highly recommend for nature lovers!

There were ANTS in one of our beds and the reception would not switch our room. Also you have to drive through a rocky lake to get to the rooms so a 4x4 is required or you'll have to carry luggage several feet. This is a beautiful eco lodge with great food but no AC.

We just left today. Sad to go. This lodge was so cute. My boyfriend and I stayed three nights. The staff was friendly food was delicious cocktails freshing. What more do you want? How about waking up to monkeys and toucans? Every morning we woke at about 6:30 to howling monkeys and hummingbirds buzzing around. No ac in the bungalows which caught us by surprise but really was not missed. Joshy was extremely helpful through out or stay, he went above and beyond.

I loved my stay in this place, although late I realized they have more options for rooms with better commodities (newer with better showers, shame. They never offer them) We had a free tour early in the morning, wonderful experience. The restaurant has also good option, I appreciate the fact that they have soups, during traveling sometimes you need a home style meal. Take advantage of the happy hour, 2x1 in beers was our favorite. We were able to program tours to other attractions around, was very easy with their help. Overall, good experience, I will back.

Definitely off the beaten path! This is a beautiful facility which has been through a recent management change. Staff is attentive and friendly, and there are unlimited activities that can be arranged from the sedate to the extreme…

Excellent service all around, would recommend to anyone visiting LA Fortuna, beautiful stay the staff is extremely nice and very helpful, the cooks and servers were amazing.

A nice place to get away for some relaxing in the rain forest. Miguel at the reception was very helpful booking some activities for us. Cecelia can cook up some of the most delicious dishes sourced from the farm nearby!

Nice place, very withdrawn, attention the service is a bit light, no safe in the rooms that are very pretty and no renewal of towels. At 30 minutes from the fortuna and 1 h of the hangings bridges.

Our tour guide (for OAT (highly recommended) ) set us up with this place among many other hotels where it was just our family in the whole place. This place is amazing. Awesome location in the rainforest, crystal clear spring water swimming pool, individual little houses. And the shower has big one way mirrors so you get to take a shower while looking out into the rain forest. Also the spring creek is amazing to hike down. Overall the best place ever. No wonder its in the top 100 places to visit before you die. If you come to costa rica, stay here.

I am so glad we chose the Chachagua Rainforest Lodge, our stay here was absolutely wonderful and I would return in a heartbeat. The lodge is a little difficult to find but once you did you are rewarded handsomely for the challenging trek. The lodge is beautifully situated in the middle of the rainforest and has many trails you can hike to see waterfalls, exotic flowers and wildlife. The staff was incredible, thoughtful, kind, and extremely helpful; starting at check in with Fernando and continuing to every other employee we met. I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday in Costa Rica and just casually had mentioned it during a horseback ride. Well, I came back to the lodge and had a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a towel basket set up in our bungalow and the staff had baked me a delicious birthday cake! It was very sweet and quite touching. We could not have asked for a better guide to show us the rainforest than David. He took us on a horseback ride and showed us many of the nearby farms and some breathtaking trails. He was very knowledgeable, spoke English well and was a lot of fun. If we had had our way, we would have taken him everywhere with us. We have done a lot of tours in the US and abroad and he, by far, was the best guide hands down! The restaurant staff and food was superb, my husband wanted to eat like the locals where I am a little less adventurous. Their menu served both of us very well.

The setting is magnificent, if you visit Costa Rica nad don't stop here, you are getting short-changed. Rooms, awesome, staff — very friendly, setting, perfect, be sure and meet Christian, the naturist who will give you a tour of the jungle, which is where this very cool place is. Edgar the manager, was very accommodating.
