A cute, comfortable, clean, secure, and well-priced hotel in the heart of Alajuela, with breakfast, airport shuttles, and Wi-Fi all included. The staff is very kind and friendly and English-speaking, and make sure they send their customers on their way with trusted drivers and good recommendations.

So, pretty cute and clean overall. Room number 1 has vertual no walls to block sound so we did not sleep all night as it sounded as if we were sleeping both on the sidewalk and in the lobby simultaneously. The place is hopping like a hostel and there was a tiny hour between 12:30-1:30 where we were not prevented from sleeping by lobby visitors or people in the hallway or going up the stairs (directly over our room). Our kids did better in room 6 but we're awakened frequently by the foot traffic in the main hall. Not sure if we'd try again.

I would for sure recommend this place. Nice and light!

Recent change of owner and the place is gradually adapting. We are very happy with our night spent here and the airport shuttle (only 6am and 10am) free.
Breakfast is very good (fruit, bread, cereal, coffee, tea and fresh fruit juice). The decoration is original: lots of furniture in palette.

Very good service. The room was clean and tidy. Clean shared bathrooms. Alexa was very friendly, was always attentive to answer any questions we have. We recommended some very rich and cheap restaurants that were within walking distance of the hotel. Easy location and Coneveniente, the hotel is close to the airport, in the center of Alajuela.

The best hotel to stay in Alajuela! As I had several transits via Alajuela when traveling in Costa Rica, I ended up sleeping there 5 nights in total. Everytime was very clean and friendly! The owner is very attentive and really tries to make you feel like home. Thanks! Totally worth it!

Everything fine :) from room to breakfast and it is close to airport so if you arriving or leaving costa rica its good yo stay here. only one thing was missing and it was music… the place was quiet :) we want musiiic.

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Cortez Azul. My room was clean, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, breakfast was included (and delicious) and a free shuttle to the airport was provided. Shuttles run at 6a, 8a, and 10a. Proximity to the airport can't be beat. All in all it's a fantastic beginning or end to a Costa Rican vacation. Highly suggested.

Hostel like, bring your own sleeping bag! I had to open the toilet in order to be able to flush it. Place is clean and quiet though.

Backpacker hostel, nice, helpful staff, room was a little run down (toilet leaking, deep holes in the bathroom wall) and noisy, otherwise OK.

Cute hotel nearly hidden. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are so cute and comfortable! The breakfast is simple and delicious. Most things close up at 8 but they have an attendant 24 hours.

Right now it is being refurbished, and when that's finished I believe it will be the nicest place in town (at least for a good price). The two Spanish owners are great and will help you with everything. And last but not least, the breakfast sometimes comes with nice surprises like French toasts this morning! What more could you expect from a hotel? :)

If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this won't be the one but if you are traveler who seeks reasonable prices, this is definitely good choice. + Staffs are kind.

Super convenient to the airport and the staff are very helpful. Has a small kitchen if you want to save some cash and easy walking distance to a bunch of Sopas. My brother and I stayed here the first night in and last night out of Costa Rica.

I had booked room for 3 weeks and stayed for 2 months Luis is great hotel close to every thing food markets shopping nice farmers market 2 1/2 blocks away has hot water and kitchen to make food with fridge and pans plates utensil.

Affordable and friendly. Nothing fancy, but it has a couple things going for it. Close to parking, very nice garden, etc.

Cheap, convenient and friendly but not clean. Worked for us as a one night stop on our way.

Good budget stay close to airport with 2 good volcanoes nearby. Stayed 3x in 3 weeks. Free airport shuttle works well, show up at reception 15mins early if timing is critical Parking onstreet works ok, nice little garden out the back. Pity the Wi-Fi doesn't reach garden or dining area. And some rooms get a lot of street noise. No AC but night temps ok.

Price/ quality ratio low. The customer, however, I found it great.

Nice atmosphere and not too expensive: 35 dollars for a 2 person private room with bathroom. The price included a transfer to the airport at 4 A. M. We encountered a warm water problem, so we received 5 dollars back which in my opinion was very fair. The kitchen was very clean. I would recommend this hostel.

Great if your first criterion is the budget. Limited but sufficient comfort. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the owners are friendly. Rooms on the very noisy Street however.
