Baboon Hostel

We had a double room whitch was fine but one of the mattresses was a bit worn out. The hostel is well located and quiet and staff was very friendly. The price was fine for what it is.
They had 3 urinals and 3 toilets for males but all urinals and one of the toilets were broken but this wasn't really an issue.

Really nice hostel. We enjoyed it very much. Nice staff — nice people — good location. Rooftop bar is a nice place to meet people.
Would recommend.

Amazing hostel! Dorms have ac and curtains. Really central location in downtown Santa Marta. The cheapest hostel you will find in this area. And, there’s free breakfast! Everyone working here was also super welcoming. We went to Tayrona for a couple of nights, and when we returned, Yessica upgraded us to a better room which was so sweet. You are allowed to leave luggage, but it is only free if you stay another night afterwards. Otherwise, there’s a small fee.

My best friend and I have spent four nights here. It is a wonderful location with amazing staff and kind wonderful people. The recommendations are amazing. We went on the lost city trek with the hostel's program and got a free night. It was incredible. They as well have big comfortable beds and good facilities for anything you may need and also an amazing rooftop where you can relax or view the city and the beautiful church next-door.

Friendliest and most helpful staff! Angie remembered me by name when I came back 2 days later after staying in Tayrona. Jessica also gave me great coffee spot recommendations. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, rooms have AC. Location is central, walkable and right next to the beach. Plus free breakfast! Highly recommend!

Highly recommend staying at Mr Baboons. The hostel is in an ideal location and the facilities are clean. Friendly staff, especially Angie on the reception.
The beds are huge and the pool is perfect for cooling off. The egg breakfast included was great and we appreciated the personal touch with our own named basket of eggs to collect.

The beds are very comfortable and spacious. I wish they had darker blinds for the bunk beds though. The bathrooms were small but clean. The breakfast was good, but I wish they had whole-wheat bread instead of white, they cost the same.

Location perfect close to everything… Good breakfast for start day… Room clean, air condition work all time, big beds, you have light and charger in every bed… You have big terrace on the roof if you want to relax with friends… Toilets and shower are clean… People who work on reception are always kind and helpful… Very safe… Pool inside who like to refresh… All recommendations for visit and take the room if you are in Santa Marta.

This hostel is super homely and all the staff are so lovely (shout out to Yessica for helping us with our transport and always having a conversation with us at the start of our day — and speaking slowly for me and my limited Spanish! ) the kitchen facilities are a major bonus (two hobs! ) and the pool is perfect in the heat. Also really appreciated the number of showers and toilets for women — no queuing required! The location is perfect — we returned as we came back through Santa marta.

This is an excellent hostel tucked in one of the quiet streets of the Santa Marta and right in the center so everything is walking distance. It does not do any social activities but has a great kitchen amazing staff and the beds and rooms are quite comfortable and have good effective AC. I liked it so much that I ended up staying two times here and would prefer staying here if I were to visit Santa Marta again. Really good beds.
The only feedback the doors on the showers and toilets are really narrow so be careful not to knock you knees on the same. As a tall person I found it hard through the shower rooms themselves are quite big.

It’s a really nice hostel. Comfy beds, AC in the rooms, curtains, decent breakfast, pool. You can’t get any better than that for the price you are paying. The staff is very friendly and attentive, especially Yessica. Highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed my stay at this cute little hostel. The dorms were very very comfortable with big beds and you get two pillows — and there’s AC during the night. Jessica was very attentive and helpful and Gigi was such a good salsa teacher and made everybody feel confident and guid about dancing.

Booked this hostel for 2 nights and was extremely pleased with the service and accommodation. The staff were wonderful and helped me find a pair of earring I had lost, would thoroughly recommend.

Great hostel in Santa Marta! Super sweet and helpful staff, Yessica was so nice. I stayed there 1 night then went to minca and tayrona for 4 nights. They let me keep my big backpack in storage and gave me an upgrade from a 12 bedroom to a 4 bedroom which was lovely to sleep in after a day of hiking. Their kitchen is great and the mattresses are bigger than usual with 2 pillows!

Stayed at mr baboon for 2 night. Very good hostel. It was 1 first for me to staying hostel but it was great. Amazing and helpful staff. Receptionist name Jessica was amazing, funny and welcoming and made my stay wonderful.

Great hostel for relaxing before/after trips to Minca, Palomino, Tayrona, etc. Good location near the water for a good sunset. Double sized bunk beds, AC, nice amenities, and friendly staff. Angie was great! Definitely worth a stay.
