I cannot say enough good things about this hostel! They really take care of you here. The management is wonderful and kind. In a situation completely unrelated to them, we ended up needing a ton of help much beyond the scope of what hostels typically provide. They were so understanding and helpful. In addition to the excellent customer service, this hostel: -has a great location -a laundry service is around the corner -the sandwich shop attached is awesome (& they make a great vegan option) -the airport transfer is super handy -the place is cute — I love the hammocks -I speak almost no Spanish (English only) & it was not a problem You can tell they are proud of their city and their hostel and they want you to have a great experience.

Explora Hostels is a great establishment and a good place to stay, particularly because of their management. The dorm rooms are clean and spacious, although it can get quite noisy outside. Earplugs are available. The shared bathrooms were not very clean, but it was easy to meet people and the location was good. BE VERY CAREFUL when walking around La Candelaria neighborhood. I was robbed and I was aware of at least 3 other people robbed within a day of me. I'd recommend avoiding walking around at night, especially if you're coming from the Transmilenio station, keeping your distance from people trying to sell you something, and not carrying anything of value on you. Explora Hostels management can always arrange safe transportation.

A great Hostel right in the middle of town. Close to everything. The staff was great as we're the facilities. Definitely will stay there again when visiting Bogota.

Nice hotel for backpackers, located very close to the main sights and tours. Beds were really clean and made up daily. Showers were hot, and theres really comfortable hammocs you can take advantage. The free use computer can be great to book flights or tours!

A good, nice and cheap place in the Candelario neighborhood in Bogota near the university and Rosario etc.

The hostel is in the center very close to the university. The service is good but the rooms are very cold and not heated. You will also be charged separately for breakfast, by printing for check in, by shampoo, by towel. The women's bathroom light has a very short time sensor, so hurry up or you'll stay in the dark.

Pretty noisey and only Two stovetops for up to 100 guests.

One of the best hostels in Bogota, located in the old and beautiful citycentre of Candelaria. Good prices, good and cheap breakfast. Good location and incredibly helpful and friendly staff! Definetly recommendable!

The staff is very friendly. It's a simple hostel but it's OK to spend a couple of nights.

Clean and tidy Hostel. It doesn't have the kitchen very equipped but it has a nice space to eat. It doesn't have a bar or make meals.

Old butifull building in the cultural center with very good staff and clean comfy beds. U may be waken by noice of leaving tourists but the place is super.

I had a great stay at Explora Hostels! The staff were incredibly kind and gave really good advice on how to make my stay memorable — plus they all had a good sense of humour! My room was basic, but very comfortable and the Hostel's facilities, such as Wi-Fi, shared bathrooms and communal areas, were very good. Situated in the 'Old-Town' Barrio of Candelaria it has many local attractions on its doorstep… Highly recommend. Giles.

The private rooms are small. The beds in the private rooms are very uncomfortable. You'll feel every single spring poke into your back while you try to fall asleep. If you're in the toilet or shower, the lights will turn off on you because they're on a sensor. Prepare to shower during the day or in complete darkness. That's all the negatives. The kitchen facility is tiny but has everything you'll need. Friendly staff. Great tour options available. Great location but La Candelaria can get quite sketchy at night. Close to supermmarkets and old town of Bogota. Don't expect hostel activities. Breakfast is alright for what you're paying. Superb staff and service. Clean facilities. Would highly recommend.

I've booked on another hostel by Hostel World. However, after I'm reading about some enjoyable hostels around Bogota through Beyond Bogota, I knew about Explora one. I've changed a nick of time. And I didn't regret. On my next visit to Bogota, surely I'll book again on this hostel. All the ppl who works are kind and help you for anything aobut both Bogota and other cities around. Thanks for everything, guys.

No frills hostel but with everything you need. Shower was lovely and hot with great pressure. We arrive long before check in, but they let us sleep in another room as we'd arrived early in the morning. Sheets and room were clean. Nice smoking and communal area. Central location. Wi-Fi was good and there was a computer for use.

A place very organized and clean, the staff was mostly friendly. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast, but there are many places to eat near the Hostel.

Great hostel in the heart of la candellera friendly staff and great Wi-Fi. Could stream Netflix on my tablet. Bathrooms were very clean with great showers and hot water. Breakfast for $3000 pesos is a steal.

Has been and is one of the best places to stay in the city of Bogotá has the common places quite nearby, you can walk in any direction and enjoy the same, the transport system is at your fingertips… in the facilities, the attention is of super quality and care about you and even recommend places of enjoyment and walks; the bathrooms are super cool in addition to clean and presentable in addition the rooms are very cosy, clean and presentable; ah, they do apply the super breakfast they serve every morning and a nice moment of "happy hour" (so that you know that is this must be there) in addition to enjoy the games they make, "jane", the kitten of the place.

It is a place very quiet and nice, the facilities are good and clean, the Wifi is excellent in any part of the hostel, the attention is unique and generally spend a nice time even if you have no plans of leaving. The area is pretty quiet and it retains that air-colonial sites of interest close by, plus there are plenty of places to eat at very good price. Recommended 100%.
