The hostel is located in the northwest of Dalian about 40 minutes from the railway station by bus (Bus line 大连火车站 — 夏家河子), get off at 车家村站 and look around for a YHA sign (the hostel's name is only written in Chinese on top of the building. ) The staff is very friendly and try to help as best as they can. The dorms are relatively small (4 people, 2 bunk beds) and are equipped with a desk and a private locker (no need to bring a lock! ). There is free Wi-Fi in the whole hostel. The common toilets and bathrooms are quite old and should you need an American toilet book a room with private bathroom. Dalian's major attractions are quite far from the hostel (staying close to the railway station may be a better choice! ). However, a light rail station (香炉礁站, line 3) is about a 15 minutes walk away. Line 3 takes you directly to Dalian's most famous beach: 金石滩!
