Tai An Guest House Guesthouse

I lived in this guesthouse for 6 months, the owner is absolutely lovely and it's the best price for accommodation you'll find in Hong Kong. Very clean, warm and cosy atmosphere.

Reasonably clean and some decent guests here. It's on a popular road and for the prices, it's much better than staying down at chunking mansions which are comparable in price.

Dirty hostel, bad signalized, small like a cage, rude receptionist AND he doesn't speak English.

Very confusing and nobody guy didn't speak any English when I was at the door and called the number. Couldn't check in.

I was in a room with only one bunk bed (14th floor), for two people (2 girls). It's nothing spacious and you can barely move, it's got to be one by one. For the rest, perfect. There are lockers in the rooms (there are 4, maybe you would have to leave 2 and so there would be some more space), you have a common area with table, chairs, microwave, fridge, hot and cold water, etc… 3 Bathrooms available for 4 rooms (all 2 people minus 1 which is 3) so perfect. Located next to the Temple market.

Room was booked despite reservation, a spare room was available only for one night and the double price, after which we were comforted for hours. Not recommended.

This guesthouse is one of the cheapest in Hongkong (except of Chungking Mansion) with the best standard. Central location, highspeed internet and comfortable beds. Of course the rooms are not spacious but what else can you expect from HK? Staff is nice but several members have very bad (chinese) manners…

Definitely to avoid those cheat people! They're the worst!

Didn't have any issues during my 2 nights stay, compared to other hostels I have been to in HK, this one is my favourite by now. Rooms were clean Very friendly and smiling staff Toilets are cleaned regularly In the sharing area there are Hot water, microwave, fridge and slippers to borrow. Overall I would recommend the hostel to anyone.

Rooms r on sharing basis. Very clean and at prime location. Nice and cheap place for travelers.

Bad thing — not imperfect photos of rooms. The good thing is that owner help you with accomodation and additinoal servoces such as shower.

Considering cheap price, it is really good for backpackers. You can walk to Tsim sha tsui station as well, but you would better take off at Jordan station to go this place.

It's smaller than I expected. The bathroom floods everything you take a shower, which is a nightmare when your trying to get ready to go out. Air con works great, beds comfy so pretty good sleep. Wifi is really fast too.

Cozy little guesthouse for a decent price. Small rooms but they're clean and the AC works.

My stay was okay by HK standards, and I think the staff at the hostel made due with the space they had. It certainly wasn't spectacular. But I give it a 3 star instead of a 2 because I understand that HK probably doesn't get much better than this. I remember being really impressed my first time in HK. First time I arrived from Canada, but visit I was already living and studying in Taiwan. I'd definitely recommend Taipei over HK. You get a more authentic "Chinese" experience in Taiwan overall, and while HK Island is pretty modern, I find Taipei to be overall more modern and clean. Taipei is probably more like Seoul or Tokyo, while HK often felt more like the typical Chinatown you find in New York, Toronto or Boston (Especially in Kowloon)

Probably the best place to stay in HongKong if you are looking for a cheap (but still very comfortable and tidy) accomodation! Several rooms available with air con! I stayed in a dorm room (5person) but it felt like my own room! Quiet and nice! The owner is very lovely and helps you if you need something.
