Star Guest House was perfectly good for basic bare bones essential lodging. Space was tight, small than typical twin beds with an aisle between the two beds barely enough to get in and out of bed. Nothing fancy, but Hong Kong's lodging is expensive. So saved on staying here, clean when we visited.
Right in the middle of the shopping district. Stayed for a week in 2012. Seven Eleven convenience store across the street, an awesome bakery up the street for breakfast. Free Wi-Fi, clean room, comfortable bed, polite helpful staff, competitive price.

Great location, fair price, nice standard for its price. Fast Wi-Fi. Best quality/price ratio I was able to find around, as most of so called hostels were dirty and disgusting.
